11x28/29 Dead and Gone--RECAP

 Welcome to the mid-season finale as despite the school year being over there is plenty more to see…sixteen episodes more to be exact. No, we’re not having a summer set arch….that’s saved for the clusterfuck that was the Summer arch of season thirteen….however we do get one episode set at summer’s  end as well as fourteen episodes that take place in the timespan of the entire ‘Boiling Point’ arch of summer season ten….(schools start till just before Christmas break for those who need a breakdown….) We also are candidly introduced to one of the four new freshman this episode…so keep your eyes open.

Class is over and Drew should already be sleeping in….but the new student council president is his girlfriend and this is her first big event so she owes him….it’s worth it….she’s nothing like Bianca and that whole chapter of his life is behind him. He’s with an amazing, smart, beautiful….. ‘Bianca’ Adam calls out. “No I’m with Katie,” Drew replies back however his brother soon points to the girl in question in an alleyway just off campus standing closely with Vince.

11x26/27 Take A Bow--RECAP

First off this episode leaves me with mass confusion ….why is Graduation BEFORE Prom? I’d live with the assumption that with the crackdown and everything that by the time Simpson caved and green lit the event to be off campus this was the earliest they could attain the venue.

Anyway the episode opens as Anya, Fiona, and Holly J are talking about Prom is a few days away….well after grad….well after Holly J and Anya graduate. They end up running into Charlie who invites the trio to her first art show. Holly J asks if Fiona is going to go but she says no things are rather complicated.

11x20x21 Extraordinary Machine –RECAP

Bullfrog is driving Eli to school asking if he slept the night before. Eli said he was up late doing revisions. Bullfrog asks how he’s doing emotionally and if Eli needs to see someone to talk. Eli says it’s fine and it’s mostly due in part to Bullfrog giving him the pills or so his dad thinks. As this conversation is going on outside, Clare and Jake are acting all coupley out in the rain. As Eli gets out and walks toward the school he spits his pill into a baggie filled with more discarded ones.

11x10/11 Paper Planes RECAP

Anya is out with Owen at a club. She’s not feeling things however when Owen offers to take her home she says she doesn’t want to leave. The mandatory graduate exit meeting with Simpson is tomorrow and if she doesn’t tell her parents she failed to get acceptance into her first and only choice school the principal will gladly do it for her. Owen tells her maybe it won’t be so bad but Anya says her mom is her best friend and they tell one another everything. Bianca shows up with a few friends and they ask if Anya and Owen are interested in snorting a line. Anya asks if Owen has ever tried and he says no and he’s not going to cause he’s got an early hockey practice however Anya asks if it’s okay if she tries. Owen says he’s not her mom and she can do what she wants and so she trips out.

11x05 Idioteque RECAP

The episode opens with Bianca straddling Drew on the couch. It’s his kind of after school program. She wants to have sex with him….their first time actually having sex….she kind of owes it to him. They make out however Drew can’t get it up and he doesn’t know why….it not her she’s hot. She knows and says that they can do it some other time but she should go before his mom comes home and he wishes they didn’t need to sneak.

11x04 What’s My Age Again—RECAP

Anya, Fiona, and Holly J are looking at magazines looking through magazines and brainstorming themes….no not for prom but for Anya’s eighteenth birthday party. Vampires…they are in….no….Fiona suggests Alice In Wonderland and while it’s shot down as being juvenile she reminds them of the trippy Burton adaption. Anya thinks Paris but that’s cliché and wouldn’t it being back memories of Sav and Junior Prom…..pish posh she’s over Sav and in a few short months she’ll be at Toronto U with Doctor Kris as her boyfriend. Fiona asks if she should add his name to the invite list and Anya says let’s ask him and she dials him up as Holly J and Fiona are making kissy noises. He’s been meaning to call her and she tells him her birthday is in two days and invites him. She hangs up saying to the girls he can’t make it…..but he asked her out for the following night instead.

11x03: Love Game RECAP

No don’t let things fool you we’re not giving up on two part episodes just yet (at least not until season 13) however unlike last season’s Summer Arch where week 1 we had Manhattan kick it off and then for one week only have an episode air on Friday with this season we had an hour long season opener with three one-parters week one and two parts the remainder of the season leading to a grand and odd numbered total of 45 Episodes this season…..

The episode opens with Clare looking in the mirror trying to figure out what to do with her hair and Helen calling out to her to not be late for Dinner. Also getting ready for school is new mom Jenna focusing on both getting herself and baby Ty ready.

Now we’re at Degrassi as Eli is limping into the school and down the hall with a cane devoid of any emotions like a zombie as Clare and Alli walk down the halls….it had to end sometime but Clare just hopes he’s okay. She locks eyes on him and Alli asks if he’s even called since that night….no…..but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be mature about things. She asks how he’s going and he says great she asks if he wants to talk and he says nope….like I said before he’s very robotic and zombie like and his spark is gone.

WHATEVER IT TAKES (new background vocals and with this season brings a whole new opening sequence….granted it’s the same style as seasons 3-5 and 8-present but the sequences are new. The order of scenes is….Adam, New Character Jake, Alli & Clare, Anya & Holly J & Chantey, KC &Jenna (and baby TY), ascended extra Marisol & New Character Katie, New Character Imogen& Eli & Fiona, Zane & Riley, Conner & Wesley, Sav & Miss Oh, Simpson & Bianca, Owen, Dave, and finally Drew.

Season 11 is rather dis-joined with the first part taking place at the end of the present school year and introducing a few new faces while the back end dropped all the graduates and added a quad of incoming freshman....instead of making two season tag pages however I'm adding everyone in here.....

10x43/44 Drop The World—RECAP

Here we are at the Season FINALLY I mean Finale of season ten…..yea seems like forever since the season began and just think the school year is far from over as we’ve still got Spring Break, A SECOND school election, Prom, Graduation, and FIVE Newbies (well three newbies, one minor character promoted to main and one new minor that is promoted to main in the back end of the season) left to come.

Eli runs to the newsstand buying up all the copies of ‘Gothic Times’ before running to school. They published Eli’s story….no not Eli’s…..THEIRS….their first collaboration. They are a dynamic duet and Eli wants to hone his dark twisted mind and her flair for the romantic together lock themselves in a basement and not leave until the manuscript of their first novel is finished…..tempting….Clare tells him she’s got plans….to go shopping with Alli for Spring Fling. Eli comments saying she was just published and says doesn’t she think dances are trivial and droll….she says he doesn’t have to come.

10x41/42 Chasing Pavements—RECAP

Fiona’s 28 days sober and is airing her grievances at the rehab. She’s officially an outpatient and Holly J said she came straight from dialysis for the ceremony. Fiona says she heard she was sick and wants to know what she can do to help. Holly J says nothing but she won’t take it for an answer. Holly J has done so much to help her she wishes to return the favor. Fiona’s glad that she had some public speaking practice because she got out of rehab just in time for Bobby’s trial….about the trial Laura needs to talk.

10x33/34 When Love Takes Over—RECAP

In a pretty similar tone as the last episode with the ‘wishing stars’ this time it’s most likely February in Degrassi cannon as love is in the air and Sav dressed up adorably as cupid is encouraging students to send their loved ones roses. Anya asks Holly J for a dozen yellow ones….not for a guy but cause her mom is hearing her results back today. Holly J says she can have the BFF discount and that she’s there no matter what to talk about it.

Adam and Eli are talking about who to cast for the lead in a play…Anya is too cheerful. Adam says they’ve auditioned ten girls and so far the best they’ve got is Marisol and hopefully they’ll find a leading lady worthy of Adam. Speaking of leading ladies Fiona calls to him asking why he’s been avoiding her….um could it be that she stood him up at her own party….yea it could be. She really wanted to come but her great aunt died and there is no way she could let Adam know. Adam says she can make it up by being his co star. She asks if there is singing and while there isn’t there is a kiss. She says so long as she gets final wardrobe approval she’s in it.

10x31/32 Halo—RECAP

And we’re up to the end of the second ‘arch’ of the epic that is season ten…..

The episode opens as people are dancing on the steps of the school with ribbons as Holly J is doing a voiceover but is really talking on the PA. It appears the Power Squad did get reinstated and are selling magical wishing stars for Charity….. I am thinking it’s something akin to the shamrocks and the like that MDA and Make a Wish sell at various venues through the year. Also the power squad is pleased to be hosting a dance….however said dance is during the day and uniforms must still be worn but hey it’s something. Jenna comments about it and Sav says it’s the best they could do and Degrassi musicians get to play and he offers Jenna to duet with him.

10x27/28 Love Lockdown—RECAP

  

This is another episode that is somewhat misleading as we are not having another lockdown at Degrassi…..though like insanity Degrassi somewhat manages to do the same things over and over again at times and hopes to attain a different result sometimes it does other times it doesn’t. I’m just a bit rambling cause as I type this re-cap a new promo has come out for the next block of the present season and it looks like a giant clusterfuck and by the time this recap posts the first episode of said block will of already aired and so you may judge for yourself….

The episode opens as Declan arrives at Degrassi with Fiona. He’s in town for the theater awards and to hopefully sweep Holly J back off her feet because he’s not spoken to her in over a month. Offering to take Fiona to class he’s told students only passed the doors. As they reach the steps and he’s about to drop his sister off, Declan see’s Holly J updating the marquee. She’s rather nice telling him how she’s surprised he left New York to come to the little awards and he says how the play meant allot and they agree to meet up for lunch. Fiona tells him she wants Holly J to be a part of the family as much as he does but to not get his hopes up.

10x21/22 Purple Pills RECAP

Holly J is carrying her and Fiona’s midterm snack haul down the street and toward the condo as they plan on studying and in between having Fiona come up with an EPIC winter dance theme. As they arrive at the condo however they are greeted by Laura and the family lawyer. Laura informs Fiona that the case against Bobby is moving to trial and she needs to give a deposition and the only way to avoid it is to drop charges.

10x19/20 Still Fighting it RECAP

Riley passes Zane in the hallway and there is a smile between them as Riley soon meets with Anya. She asks if Riley plans to sign up for the schools bachelor auction since the girls would fight tooth and nail for him because he’s quite a catch. The guys would too if he wasn’t stuck inside the biggest walk in closet like ever…..She then asks how Zane is cause let’s face it she so saw their little energy exchange however Riley tells her all they talked about was math. She tells him he should go talk again and Riley promises he’ll do it tomorrow. She tells him the present is a gift and he should go give said gift to Zane in the form of flirting.

10x17/18 Tears Dry In My Own—RECAP

Jenna and Alli are in the girl’s room and Jenna is once again complaining about her body. Some of the buttons of her shirt apparently came undone in her stomach region and Alli comments first how the shirt used to fit and then starts reading from presumably a health book the signs of pregnancy complete with Alli going to second base on Jenna squeezing her breasts for tenderness. She asks if Jenna’s been sexually active and safe and how she should take a test but Jenna can’t be pregnant because she has an audition for a music completion to go to however Alli can’t come watch cause she has detention cause she was caught stealing ‘what to expect’ books for Jenna out of the library so I guess Jenna had the same inklings Alli was having eh….

10x15/16 My Body Is a Cage|| RECAP

This is one of those episodes that I’ve partly been looking forward to re-watching and at the same time due to recent events in present cannon have equally been dreading. This is a huge Adam centric episode and the big revel of his character identifier.

It’s hours before school and Adam is complaining about the loud music blasting from Audra’s van. Drew says it’s to amp him for practice and Adam asks why he has to go to school early again. Audra comments how he can watch Drew but Adam just wants to be able to play sports or at least be in REAL PE and not recreations class. Audra comments how it’s a new year at a new school and Adam should just lie low. Adam comments about its High School and lying low is impossible and besides they are doing ballroom dancing which is just as bad as something that would be done in real PE. Audra is adamant about Adam going to recreation instead and tells him how his grandma is coming to town and it would be nice if ‘Gracie’ came to dinner. Drew goes to practice as Adam tells Audra that ‘Gracie’s’ gone and he’s not playing dress up.

10x03/4: Breakaway RECAP

It’s it….. it’s here…. The introduction of the most over rated character in recent seasons who I can’t help but sip the Kool-Aid and love Eli Goldsworthy….. okay sure he comes at the bitter end of part two and doesn’t get much major play until a few episodes later but still…..oh and there is more continuity about the election and Fiona too….

The episode opens as we see Fiona walking the ledge on the Vanderbilt prep roof as Tinsley AKA the girl Bobby was screwing with says hi to Declan and comments how he’s heard about the Coynes and how intense they are. Declan assures her they are normal and she comments that Fiona’s on the roof. His cell rings and it’s his sister and from the comment he makes saying on the roof again it seems like it’s not the first time Fiona’s done this. She comments about how Declan was right about Bobby being no good case not only is he a player but he’s hurt her in a more physical of nature. Declan asks if she’s sure it was intentional and asks if he can talk to Bobby. Fiona says she can handle it herself and he asks her to climb down from the roof.

10x01/02 What a Girl Wants||RECAP

So here we are up to a double digit season number and also a supersized forty four episode season….yea, you read that right. Though to be fair technically it’s twenty two two-part episodes and that’s how I’ll be posting them all….With this season we also get the dropping of the ‘Next Generation’ subtitle and the intro also of   fan favorites   Drew Torres introduced in this episode and Eli Goldsworthy introduced in the next pair. Also you’ll note the season is more fast paced and there is allot more character/story arcs happening thought the season as opposed to one episode then done.

The season opens where the movie left off in New York at the Coyne penthouse. Its Holly J’s going away party. It’s not really goodbye it’s see you in a few months when you arrive at Yale. Fiona finally arrives at the party after her exhale in the Hamptons all renewed and refreshed with a new boyfriend. Declan just doesn’t trust Bobby…maybe it’s cause he’s Fiona’s first (and only) real boyfriend or maybe just maybe it’s cause of something else.

WHATEVER IT TAKES---I think it’s the same background vocals as last season….90% sure of it. The credits are a mix of old and new clips and faces…it opens with new shots of Peter, Sav, Clare, and newbie Eli. Then it’s the old Coyne Twin and Leia/Holly J scenes. A new one with new teacher Miss Oh, Connor and Wesley. The old Chantey/Anya and Jenna/Dave scenes then more new content with Adam and Bianca (newbies) along with Simpson and KC followed by newbie Drew, Riley and Alli with the pimp spot...
