11x26/27 Take A Bow--RECAP

First off this episode leaves me with mass confusion ….why is Graduation BEFORE Prom? I’d live with the assumption that with the crackdown and everything that by the time Simpson caved and green lit the event to be off campus this was the earliest they could attain the venue.

Anyway the episode opens as Anya, Fiona, and Holly J are talking about Prom is a few days away….well after grad….well after Holly J and Anya graduate. They end up running into Charlie who invites the trio to her first art show. Holly J asks if Fiona is going to go but she says no things are rather complicated.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Riley asks Anya if she’s looking at a study guide however no, she got into the Army. Riley looks at the paper work and asks if she’s up to the physical challenges….. She’s freaking out and Riley tells her relax and then asks her to Prom as a friend cause they are both single.

Holly J is talking Prom Limo’s however Fiona’s mind is all on Charlie. Anya shows up asking if there is room for one more in the Limo. Fiona asks if another girl is going stagette but no, it’s Riley….and Holly J is going with Sav. Fiona’s upset cause she thought they were going as a trio of single ladies not all taking ‘friend dates’ Holly suggests Fiona go with someone…from where ‘Lesbian Prom Date dot Com’ (it was a real site to promote the show)

Marisol comments how three tests down one to go and asks Katie if he’s talked to Drew since the other day. Katie says no and if he can’t accept our friendship then they can’t be together. Drew walks over and she tells this to him and he understands…..he likes her allot and Katie asks him to Prom. He’s shocked juniors can go and Katie points out how more tickets sold means more money in the kitty and a bigger party. (PS my schools prom was for juniors, seniors. Sophomores were allowed to addend so long as they were dating up)

The infamous ‘locker roll’ scene. Fiona is all upset cause all her girlfriends have decided to being friend dates and wants to know if Eli wants to escort her to the dance. Eli would have loved to had it not been for the fact he was already going to the dance….as a cater waiter with Adam…..this plot holds a major point in the mid-season finale so….just saying. Fiona needs to accept life at Degrassi is going to be lonely. Eli calls her out with her feelings for a certain girl…name rhymes with Narley.

Anya heads to the gym and Owen is mocking her as she’s struggling to do a pull up. She admits to him that she needs his help. He tells her he doesn’t help druggies and she tells him it was a phase and she’s clean. She made it into the Army and needs him to be her drill sergeant and get her into shape. He tells her she has to commit and she promises.

Katie gushes to Marisol that she’s going to prom with Drew and Marisol couldn’t be happier. Marisol asks Katie if she’s ready for sex cause that’s exactly what would you go to prom means….. Katie says he’s only the second guy she’s kissed and she’s not ready yet. Marisol tells her she needs to tell him this.

Fiona shows up at Charlie’s studio and is in awe of her skills. She came because she’s sorry for being awful to her and asking her to move in only to kick her out. Charlie says it was for the best and Fiona in a way was her muse. Fiona asks how living with her mom is and she says it’s tense and she won’t allow Mr. Tuxedo pants and so he lives in a crate in the studio. Fiona offers to watch the cat in exchange for being her prom date. Charlie says sure.

After her meeting, Fiona’s dancing around her apartment cleaning. She’s all high on life and not boozes because she tells Holly J she’s three months sober. She tells Holly J she’s bringing Charlie and Holly J asks if she’s sure Charlie knows they are just friends. Fiona says yea then she sees the cat.

Owen’s drilling Anya but she thinks it’s just torture. She was hoping for baby steps but he doesn’t stop. He really would make an amazing coach or personal trainer someday…..

Fiona goes to the show and Charlie is excited though she apologizes for not telling her there would be drinking at the party. Charlie wants to show Fiona a picture she painted of her. A woman walks over saying someone is interested in a work and waves Charlie over to meet him. Fiona then asks her if she’s the one to talk to about a perspective sale.

Katie tells Drew that she’s got a few questions to get to know him better….favorite movie: the Fast and the Furious….5 ….favorite book: pass…..favorite food: hot dogs….no….pizza….do you have any STI’s?.....huh….Katie explains but Drew knows what she’s talking about. He asks if she wants to sleep with him and she says someday. Drew is ecstatic….he loves that she’s so open about sex and her willingness to be safe about it.

Anya and Owen are working out via musical montage…..She tells him she could never leave without hating him. He tells her he could never hate her he just hated what she became….but he never stopped loving her. She tells him she’ll miss him and he tells her he misses her too. She says she wants to show him something and walks out.

Fiona buys the painting that Charlie did of her. The woman tells Charlie that the purchase would make a buzz. Charlie then introduces the woman to Fiona….it’s her girlfriend Meredith. Charlie tells her that she’s going to prom with Fiona and Meredith is awwwing about how cute it is but soon pulls Charlie back to toast and as the toast goes on Fiona grabs a drink.

Anya comes back into the gym in her camo. She admits it’s the first time she put it on….the first time she was worthy of it. Owen then pulls her into a kiss. She tells him she’s leaving the day after prom and Owen tells her they’ll have to make the time worthwhile starting with her telling him who he needs to beat up to take her to Prom. She teases him telling him at first how her date is a big strong jock…..but Riley won’t mind.

Fiona’s on the fire escape chugging a bottle of champagne as she tells the cat she can’t talk to Charlie who’s calling her…not like this. She doesn’t deserve the cat or anyone….Holly J’s leaving, Charlie doesn’t love her…she’s un loveable and then she sets the cat free…..TBC

Fiona wakes up hung over surrender by bottles and an empty cat cage and tons of regret. Laura’s arrived home and asks why she’s still in bed and isn’t at Holly J’s graduation. She knows it’s going to be hard knowing she’s not walking with. She offers to go to the ceremony for support however Fiona tells her she’s okay.

I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUH

As the class of 2011 is lining up to graduate, Riley asks Anya what color dress she’s wearing so he can match….she apologizes saying that Owen asked.

Holly J’s been trying to get a hold of Fiona with good news….Fiona asks if it’s that Holly J is really being held back or Charlie is single….Holly J says no but that she’s got a transplant date. Fiona pouts saying how great now she can go to Yale and live happily ever after. The surgery was going to happen sooner or later but that doesn’t stop Fiona from being left behind and single for Prom. Holly J says if it makes her feel better the surgery is the day of the dance and so she’s not able to attend. Pomp and Circumstance begins to fill the air as Holly J is pulled away by Simpson because it’s time. He goes up to the podium and Holly J gives her speech talking about the past four years at Degrassi…..um….sweetie…you started Degrassi second half of sophomore year. She talks about how wherever the journey takes them they’ll always have the memories of Degrassi.

Katie and Marisol are setting up the student council office and she asks Marisol if she looks like she’s ready to lose her virginity. Marisol takes it the talk didn’t go well and she says when Drew heard I cared about safe sex he lit up like a kid with a cookie. Drew just hears the last part and wants a cookie. Drew tells him he’s clean and Marisol is free to tweet it before inviting over to his basement to watch movies….she asks Marisol for a favor.

Miss Oh is giving out superlatives and gives one to Sav for music. Simpson then calls out the grads….Chantey, Anya, Riley, Zane, Sav, and Holly J….for some this is their last episode some you will see at Prom….

Fiona’s buying a drink when Charlie sees her….she comments how Fiona never said goodbye then asks for the bottle.

Mrs. Stavros wants a photo with Riley and one of his friends…his mom then asks who he’s going to prom with…he says he’s going solo and then tells her he’ll be out at school and may want to bring a boyfriend him. She says I guess I should stop hoping it’s just a phase. He says no, I’m gay and she says and he looks so handsome.

Fiona breaks down to Charlie and she asks who she can call. Fiona says Holly J doesn’t want to see her, she thinks she’s selfish. Fiona says everyone has someone but Holly J’s leaving and she’s my person. Charlie says she can be Fiona’s person and Fiona tells her stop being so nice….she lost Mr. Tuxedo Pants…I got drunk and set him free. Charlie calls her out saying she’s alone because she pushes people away.

Katie wants to know what movie there watching but Drew wants to do something first. Marisol shows up saying she was locked out and thought she could hang and Drew is not amused.

Holly J is having dialysis and Fiona comes in offering an apology smoothie. Fiona tells Holly J she was right about Charlie she always was. Holly J is upset she’s missing Prom…a smoothie isn’t going to fix things and she’s tired of fixing problems. Chantey and Anya show up with dresses because they want to give Holly J a pre-prom….cause Prom isn’t about dry chicken or dancing to living on a Prayer it’s about the people you’re with and the memories you make.

The girls are watching the movie however Drew is getting annoyed and kicks Marisol out cause he wants alone time. Katie tries to lounge on the couch sexily and tells him he invited Marisol over because she wasn’t ready to have sex with him….she’s a virgin and she’s not ready. Drew tells her he doesn’t want sex he wanted to introduce her to Audra.

The four girls ride around the grater Toronto area in a limo stopping at Degrassi where they cover the trees in front of the school with streamers….re-arrange the placard in front of the school with the message ‘we were here’ the four of them make confessions. Anya’s worried she won’t hack it in the Army and it’s her last shot, Chantey is scared of being the small fish in a huge University pond, Holly J is worried she won’t make friends like she had at Degrassi in New Haven and Fiona admits to relapsing the previous evening and she feels like a huge disappointment….she even set the cat free. They all laugh about the last part and soon the graduate girls place their hands in the conveniently wet cement in front of the school.

Drew apologizes for Audra giving her the third degree she does to all his girlfriends. Speaking of ghosts of girlfriends past Katie informs Drew that Bianca is a freshman orientation leader and she wants to know if she can trust her. Drew wouldn’t trust her with a pack of gum….but Katie says they need volunteers and hopes she’s changed. Katie goes to get more sugar for her drink as Bianca calls Drew…he hits decline.

Fiona apologizes to Charlie and tells her she posted missing cat fliers though she says the cat was found. Charlie says she can help her patch things up with Holly J but she already has. She then tells Charlie she’s going back to rehab….and when asked about Prom says there is always next year….and next year let me tell you are a doozy….
