11x28/29 Dead and Gone--RECAP

 Welcome to the mid-season finale as despite the school year being over there is plenty more to see…sixteen episodes more to be exact. No, we’re not having a summer set arch….that’s saved for the clusterfuck that was the Summer arch of season thirteen….however we do get one episode set at summer’s  end as well as fourteen episodes that take place in the timespan of the entire ‘Boiling Point’ arch of summer season ten….(schools start till just before Christmas break for those who need a breakdown….) We also are candidly introduced to one of the four new freshman this episode…so keep your eyes open.

Class is over and Drew should already be sleeping in….but the new student council president is his girlfriend and this is her first big event so she owes him….it’s worth it….she’s nothing like Bianca and that whole chapter of his life is behind him. He’s with an amazing, smart, beautiful….. ‘Bianca’ Adam calls out. “No I’m with Katie,” Drew replies back however his brother soon points to the girl in question in an alleyway just off campus standing closely with Vince.

11x26/27 Take A Bow--RECAP

First off this episode leaves me with mass confusion ….why is Graduation BEFORE Prom? I’d live with the assumption that with the crackdown and everything that by the time Simpson caved and green lit the event to be off campus this was the earliest they could attain the venue.

Anyway the episode opens as Anya, Fiona, and Holly J are talking about Prom is a few days away….well after grad….well after Holly J and Anya graduate. They end up running into Charlie who invites the trio to her first art show. Holly J asks if Fiona is going to go but she says no things are rather complicated.

11x20x21 Extraordinary Machine –RECAP

Bullfrog is driving Eli to school asking if he slept the night before. Eli said he was up late doing revisions. Bullfrog asks how he’s doing emotionally and if Eli needs to see someone to talk. Eli says it’s fine and it’s mostly due in part to Bullfrog giving him the pills or so his dad thinks. As this conversation is going on outside, Clare and Jake are acting all coupley out in the rain. As Eli gets out and walks toward the school he spits his pill into a baggie filled with more discarded ones.

11x08/9 Dirt Off Your Shoulder—RECAP

Eli’s limping off the bus and Adam notes that Clare is coming his way. She tells him that she’s got a job on the school paper and her assignment is an interview with him. He says no sweat and he’ll give her an interview. Adam says that went well thanks to his pills. Adam asks what’s wrong and Eli says there hasn’t yet been an official diagnosis…anyway he can get over Clare and will do so with the play.

11x05 Idioteque RECAP

The episode opens with Bianca straddling Drew on the couch. It’s his kind of after school program. She wants to have sex with him….their first time actually having sex….she kind of owes it to him. They make out however Drew can’t get it up and he doesn’t know why….it not her she’s hot. She knows and says that they can do it some other time but she should go before his mom comes home and he wishes they didn’t need to sneak.

Season 11 is rather dis-joined with the first part taking place at the end of the present school year and introducing a few new faces while the back end dropped all the graduates and added a quad of incoming freshman....instead of making two season tag pages however I'm adding everyone in here.....

10x35/36 The Way We Get By—RECAP

The episode opens with the basketball team playing and I instantly know what episode this is cause while I remember the basic archs of the season honestly with 40+ episodes it’s hard to recall what plot goes where…..spoilers…..it’s the Drew takes shrooms episode…..anyway the team is on to the semi’s meaning that a year has already flown by since the drama with KC and Coach Carson. Drew wants to celebrate however he realizes he’s the fifth wheel to Dave and Sadie and KC and Jenna. He decides to stay behind and work on his game and I just want to give him a hug.

10x23/24 All Falls Down—RECAP

Here we are at the climax of the first of three ‘Summer Novella’s’ In case I didn’t mention what those were of if you simply forgot, from seasons 10-12 for 6,7, and 5 weeks respectively Degrassi aired new episodes nightly four days a week and story arcs became more serialized then episodic and even in the fall and spring arcs and into the present season where the summer format was changed back to a weekly one it has a more serialized ‘soapy’ feel at times then the seasons of yore…..anyway this episode marks a changing point at Degrassi and when it comes back in episode 25 you may not recognize the place which (Simpson even says that later on) But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Alli is tutoring Drew who just knows he’s going to fail. They stop for a study break/make out session when Audra breaks them up. She comments how this is why he’s failing math and that if he focused on school and not girls maybe he’s be passing. She tells him how lucky he is because of the stink bomb and how he had an extra day for midterms. After Audra walks away Alli comments how Audra must think she’s some skank like Bianca. Drew says she just doesn’t like him sucking in school.

10x21/22 Purple Pills RECAP

Holly J is carrying her and Fiona’s midterm snack haul down the street and toward the condo as they plan on studying and in between having Fiona come up with an EPIC winter dance theme. As they arrive at the condo however they are greeted by Laura and the family lawyer. Laura informs Fiona that the case against Bobby is moving to trial and she needs to give a deposition and the only way to avoid it is to drop charges.

10x19/20 Still Fighting it RECAP

Riley passes Zane in the hallway and there is a smile between them as Riley soon meets with Anya. She asks if Riley plans to sign up for the schools bachelor auction since the girls would fight tooth and nail for him because he’s quite a catch. The guys would too if he wasn’t stuck inside the biggest walk in closet like ever…..She then asks how Zane is cause let’s face it she so saw their little energy exchange however Riley tells her all they talked about was math. She tells him he should go talk again and Riley promises he’ll do it tomorrow. She tells him the present is a gift and he should go give said gift to Zane in the form of flirting.

10x17/18 Tears Dry In My Own—RECAP

Jenna and Alli are in the girl’s room and Jenna is once again complaining about her body. Some of the buttons of her shirt apparently came undone in her stomach region and Alli comments first how the shirt used to fit and then starts reading from presumably a health book the signs of pregnancy complete with Alli going to second base on Jenna squeezing her breasts for tenderness. She asks if Jenna’s been sexually active and safe and how she should take a test but Jenna can’t be pregnant because she has an audition for a music completion to go to however Alli can’t come watch cause she has detention cause she was caught stealing ‘what to expect’ books for Jenna out of the library so I guess Jenna had the same inklings Alli was having eh….

10x05/06 99 Problems||RECAP

Riley and Zane are exercising, doing some stretching and generally getting frisky however not so much. Schools back now and whatever romance blossomed over the summer between the two boys has to have an ellipsis put around it. Riley’s a senior and QB1 and a shoe in for captain and if the guys think he’s gay….well that just isn’t going to happen now is it….no offence to present company. He promises when football season is over things will pick up (albeit still in secret I’d gather) but for now….it’s complicated. Zane comments that they can still hang out and perhaps even his soccer skills will transfer to the gridiron. Riley comments how Zane would look hot in a jersey. Snapping out of his haze however Riley says he needs to get back to training and had a blast over the summer.

Peter is roleplaying with Riley in his anger management group. Peter asks Riley if he’s talked to the councilor about his other little issue….namely the fact that he’s gay. Not that there is anything wrong with it just that it would help if he came out to someone else aside from just his friend. Anya comes into the room after the meeting is dismissed wanting to interview the school’s most eligible bachelor for the video yearbook….Riley.

9x07/08 Beat It—RECAP

I hope this recap lives up to your expectations (and mine) because when I first did it I accidentally deleted my clipboard in the process of copying this from word to this site and so I have to re-re watch this one. On the plus side the episode isn’t a weak one but on the minus side it is a two parter so it’s twice the length. Since I’ve already seen it within the past 24 hours I can tell you ahead of time that this is an ABC two parter instead of an AB/AC one with plots centering around Riley, The Niners, and Anya…..

The episode opens at the pool (cause you know that here at Degrassi they got a hidden one LOL but seriously the outside facade shots for this pool are not the norm) Riley along with Chantey, Blue, and a few random characters (including one Mark ‘Fitz’ Fitzgerald but I think he’s played by a different actor) are taking lifeguard classes with some college student named Sam. Sam is telling Riley how he’s an athlete too and being a lifeguard last summer really helped him with his speed in the sports field.  Sam then practices mouth to mouth on a dummy and Riley gets really into it and he ends up getting a boner. Jumping into the water to hide it he tells them that he’s fine though everyone laughs at him.

9x03 Shoot To Thrill RECAP

So when this season initially aired while episodes aired in order state-side, in Canada episodes 3/5 and 4/6 aired in an hour-long block and once we get through these next four episodes you’ll see it’s because each of these pairs have major plot continuity together and it’s almost as if they could have been written as two hour long episodes. Anyway this episode opens as it’s clubs fair sign up at the school. Johnny is sitting on the steps and Alli goes up to him and sits on his lap playing with his hat. Bruce shows up and it’s off she goes. She has to meet Clare anyway to sign up for an activity and she wants Johnny to go. He promises he’ll meet her there. As the girls make it to the film club booth it’s full (I’d say Clare wanting to join this club is foreshadowing her relationship with an aspiring director but I believe it’s simply coincidental) Miss H is back as Principal and she’s running a tight ship so the girls choose photo club instead. Sav and Anya scored film clubs last spots and engage in PDA whole KC arrives and he and Clare kiss as well. Alli is jealous cause Johnny is all no public touchy. Johnny just has other interests….. Like watching Bruce harass Connor….Clare just doesn’t know him like Alli does….

Alli and Johnny are making out in his car however it’s almost nine and he doesn’t want her to be late for her curfew. He’s trying to be respectful however she thinks he’s not into her. She comes home and her mom asks how studying at the library was and Alli wines saying it’s stupid. She then slumps in the living room puts on West Drive and calls up someone presumably Clare wining that she hates her life. Seriously Alli do you want some cheese to go with your wine….god.

The football team is celebrating a win and Riley who’s not got a haircut is the player of the game. He looks over toward Peter and Mia with a sad look in his eyes as he has feelings. Cut to him at home with various weight training magazines and pills on the ground.

8x05 Man With Two Hearts recap

Before you guys get too excited no….this isn’t about some mad man in a blue box who comes to Toronto and takes an unsuspecting female character on an epic journey through time and space though that would have been totally EPIC. Though this episode does kick off Riley’s character arch and plants the seeds for one of my favorite (non cannon) SLASH ships.

Speaking of…..Riley and Peter are going for a run. Peter trips and Riley helps him. Riley comments that if he has any guys then he’d go try out for cross country. They get back to school and Mia says she has some free time before a shoot and asks if Peter wants to walk her to set. He tells her no he’s going to go to the meeting and Riley comments about blowing off a hot model once Mia walks away. Peter comments about how he just got his heart stomped on by Darcy and doesn’t want to get involved (Spoilers he does and she leaves him for the CW too) Riley tells Peter he can relate and Peter nods asking if he has girl troubles too….. (Oh you can’t imagine)
