10x17/18 Tears Dry In My Own—RECAP

Jenna and Alli are in the girl’s room and Jenna is once again complaining about her body. Some of the buttons of her shirt apparently came undone in her stomach region and Alli comments first how the shirt used to fit and then starts reading from presumably a health book the signs of pregnancy complete with Alli going to second base on Jenna squeezing her breasts for tenderness. She asks if Jenna’s been sexually active and safe and how she should take a test but Jenna can’t be pregnant because she has an audition for a music completion to go to however Alli can’t come watch cause she has detention cause she was caught stealing ‘what to expect’ books for Jenna out of the library so I guess Jenna had the same inklings Alli was having eh….

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Jenna asks KC how she looks and he asks why she’s so dressed up. She’s got next teen star auditions however KC’s not going cause he’s got a big game and he says how Jenna should be there too because she’s on power squad. She says how important the audition is however KC pretty much tells her she’s got a one in a million shot of making it so why bother.

Connor is still playing the game with Love Queen 16 despite knowing she’s a grown woman. Wesley and Dave walk into the MI lab asking why he’s still talking to her. When she was there age Connor was….negative twelve according to Wesley. Dave asks why talk to her when he’s got real friends in the flesh with him and Wesley however they just don’t get it.

Owen invites Riley to the break room with the guys however he says no. Owen is bummed that he’s turning them down again saying he’s never going to get any action if he keeps to himself. Zane walks past and Owen calls him ‘Rockette’ Riley asks why he called him that and Zane replies it’s a gay joke cause he’s kicker. Riley comments oh another one and Zane asks how come he’s so calm about them….never mind. Riley then asks Zane if he wants to hang but he replies till Football Riley and Gay Riley can integrate he’s still very much not interested.

Jenna’s brother Kyle brings her coffee before the audition however she doesn’t think she can handle it. She says she’s been tired and sick and Kyle says she needs to see a doctor however Jenna says nothing is getting in the way of her dream even though morning sickness is setting in.

Dave and Wesley send Connor to a chat roulette site to meet real girls and shockingly they actually meet three real girls and not pedos.

Riley asks Anya if she wants to hang after the game because they haven’t in a while. Anya can’t because she has allot on her plate and informs him that her mom has cancer. She’s going to the hospital after the game and he offers to keep her company while her mom’s in radiation.

Jenna’s waiting for her cattle call audition and calls KC on her cell. She tells him that she’s sorry they fought and she hopes he reconsiders and shows up after the game.

Simpson walks into the MI lab and wants to talk to Connor about the time he’s spending gaming. Connor assures him that he’s done all his chores and Simpson says just be home at a decent hour. Love Queen 16 asks him why he wasn’t on the other day. He says his friends don’t like him talking to her but he’s not letting that stop him. She asks if he knows about the expansion pack coming out and Connor tells her he’s going after they are done chatting. She wants to meet him there and he is cool with it.

Jenna’s up on stage to audition and her nerves and morning sickness are showing as she goes to sing an original song she wrote. After a false start she runs off stage and pukes because morning sickness so isn’t what it says on the tin and comes out of nowhere.

Anya complements Riley on the game and is surprised the winning QB (I guess since his suspension is over Drew’s ass is benched) is wanting to hang with her and not with his teammates…or at least Zane. Riley tells her Zane doesn’t want to be with him until he’s comfortable being the real him and he can’t fake it with the others. He’s in an in-between place and doesn’t fit in with anyone. Anya suggests that she find someone outside of school and Riley teases perhaps he’ll find some openly gay ballplayer in the hospital.

KC shows up at the studio and Jenna breaks down saying how she totally blew her audition. KC tells her it’s not over till it’s over and she should demand a re-do.

Dave and Wesley wonder why Connor didn’t meet them on the steps at four like he said he would and Wesley’s hacked into the game to see if perhaps Connor is online cause he’s not answering any calls or texts. The online universe is a ghost town and soon a banner ad shows up about the expansion pack…..bingo. He has to be there and with her and so the boys plan to shoot Simpson a line and have him intervene with them. Right in their assumption, Connor and his online friend are at the shop waiting in line together. She tells him how she makes her laugh and in a good way. She then invites him back to her place to test out the new game and he agrees to as they go inside the shop.

Jenna goes back onstage to the judges who tell her she’s had her chance. She apologizes and tells them how she hasn’t been feeling well. The judge tells her well thems the breaks and there are no second chances however she starts to play ‘Mr. Perfect’ anyway.

Riley and Anya are going over an assignment and Riley comments how she must get allot of homework done when she’s waiting. She comments how getting her marks full letter grades up is the only good thing to come from this. Riley tells her she’s a good daughter and she tells him he’s a good study buddy and maybe he shouldn’t find someone so that she can selfishly keep his companionship to herself. Dr. Kris tells Anya that her mom’s doing great and Anya thanks him for a book recommendation. They are getting ready cause her mom’s going to be done in a bit and Riley comments how he’ll be back tomorrow and the day after and the day after and he admits to liking Dr. Kris however Anya does too. Riley is so sure he’s gay but Anya begs to differ.

Jenna’s still singing her song to the judges. They tell her it was risky that she chose her own song and they are sorry….they ever doubted her. She’s gotten a golden ticket and she’s made it to the show. She runs out and tells KC and he twirls her however she’s dizzy cause she’s not eaten much….

Wesley and Dave show up to the game store and see Connor and the woman walking out. They approach the duo and ask what’s going on. She says they ran into each other and she ends up leaving.

Alli meets KC and Jenna after her detention. KC tells Alli they are having celebration hummus and she has KC go in to get them drinks. Jenna asks Alli to get rid of the hummus because she can’t stand the smell. Alli asks if she’s going to take a test and Jenna says yes.

The boys ask Connor why he wants to hang out with her because she’s really really old. He says Simpson’s old but they boys counter saying that he’s his guardian. Connor says how she’s just his friend and gets him and the boys apologize for sending her off since it’s clear she makes him happy. Then they remember they called Simpson but it’s too late to call him off as he soon arrives. He asks where she is and they say she drove off and Simpson grabs Connor to take him home.

Alli and Jenna wait for the test results. She says how she and KC should have been more careful and she complains how the three minutes are taking forever. She finally looks at the test and its positive….TBC

Alli asks Jenna how she’s feeling and she says pregnant. She can’t believe she’s a statistic and Alli says to look on the Brightside at least now she knows about why she’s getting….fuller. She asks if she’s told Kyle. KC? However she’s not told anyone else. She’s the top 24 of ‘Teen Star’ and she’s NOT letting her pregnancy sully her dream.

I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH

KC tells Jenna the whole school is talking about her…..being in the contest that is. She comments saying that everything is about to change. KC knows…she’s going to kill it on the show and start dating some kind of ‘Bieber’ Jenna assures him she’s more an ‘R Patz’ kind of girl but KC is the man for him and she asks if he plans to leave her. Never he’s at a great place in his life and she’s a great girl and why would he want to ruin it.

Simpson says Connor is lucky he has friends like Dave and Wesley who care about his well-being enough to tell him what’s been going on however Connor doesn’t feel that way, quite the opposite in fact. It’s none of their business who he hangs with and not Simpson’s either. He wants to go to the MI lab however Simpson is revoking his computer privileges and hands him a notebook for the time being.

Alli and Jenna have a genetics assignment and she teases that if she knew what kind of traits KC had she could see how the baby would look however she can’t talk to KC. He was so supportive and great about the show and they are in such a good place she just can’t ruin it.

Dave and Wesley want to talk to Connor however Connor’s not in the mood. They are sorry that they ratted him out however it’s too little too late. Love Queen 16 is his only friend.

Riley comments how he’s pretty certain Dr. Kris is gay and plans to quiz him in the guise of a school assignment. He’s had four crushes…three of them age gay and the jury is still out on Peter. Of the three I assume two of them are Zane and the random boy he’d met with a few times but who’s the third? Was it Fiona and they spoiled she was a lesbian or was it another off cannon random (or perhaps Sam the Lifeguard) lots to ponder though his gaydar is pretty spot on with a 75% success rate. Anya says they should just ask but that’s no fun.

Connor sneaks on in the MI lab apologizing because his Simpson took the computer away. It’s not like they are doing anything wrong and he asks her if she can pick him up at the school. She’s got some errands but she’ll be there in an hour and they can go back to her place to play.

Anya and Riley give Dr. Kris gives them a Q/A for their ‘relationships’ class. Riley comments how it must have been a while since he was in university. He wishes he had a class like that so it wouldn’t take him till med school to get a GIRL friend….Anya wins.

Jenna tells KC they need to talk and he asks if something’s wrong. She tells him she’s scared and when he asks to spill it she says he’s going to be a dad. She hasn’t seen a doctor yet but the test says so and there was one time she was off on her pills. She’s scared and he tells her they can figure it out. The mistake is both their faults and they are in this together and he’ll be with her every step and once she gets it aborted it’ll all be over. She runs off and says she can’t get an abortion with school and sports and cheerleading not to mention the show the timing is off. Jenna knows the timing sucks. KC says his dad’s in jail and he can’t be one.

Anya is going to make a magazine run for her mom and asks Riley if he wants to go however he’s thinking of going home. Her mom is in the other room with cancer and he’s bummed about his crush on Dr. Kris. He thought since he didn’t go to Degrassi it would have been different however he’s hopelessly straight so the relationship is non-existent. Anya tells him relationships are never easy but when he finds one it’ll be perfect. Riley describes his perfect guy and its pretty much Zane. Anya points this out commenting how she guesses his crush on Dr. Kris is over so she can go for him and how thanks to Riley he now thinks she’s in University….SCORE!!!

Backstage production is asking for the talent to hand back their wavers and before Jenna hands back hers, Alli asks about pre-existing conditions and if they include pregnancy. Production says pregnancy isn’t a disqualifiable condition but with all the obligations contestants have while it will give publicity at first it’s not going to be sunshine and rainbows.

Conner gets picked up and he’s fretting. He has a whole routine that’s being ruined because of Simpson and he hates it. She tells him it’s him and her against the world and she places her hand on his lap. They can just go to her place and get more acquainted with one another. It’s then he realizes they were right all along and she was a pedo and he gets out of the car. All he wanted was a gaming buddy.

Kyle goes with Jenna to the ultrasound exam where the doctor tells her she’s already 20 weeks along and asks if she’d realized the signs like her missed periods. She says she’d been stressed she just never thought anything of it. She brings up the pills and is told to never take them again. She asks about abortions but it’s rather late…..as for who she has for support she’s got Kyle and that’s all cause their dad is out working and the mom walked out….adoption is an option and the doctor says she can refer her to an agent.

Anya and Riley are working on math and Anya calls Zane over to ‘help them’ which is part true though the other part is she’s pushing her gays back together.

Connor tells Simpson and Miss Oh about the woman and what happened. He doesn’t know her address but he’s got her license plate thanks to his photographic memory. Connor comments how he’s got no friends and no computer. Simpson tells him he was harsh taking away the computer and he can have it back just no gaming unless he’s with Simpson. He tells Connor that Dave and Wesley meant well and he should make up with them.

KC’s pissed Jenna didn’t abort and she tells him she’s already five months and to abort would be risky. He is pissed her denial cost him their options. KC’s pissed he doesn’t get a say in what to do but basically he just wants her to abort and risk complicating her life. He finally cracks saying that if she wants to keep it he can’t stop her but he doesn’t want to be involved because his life is being held together by tape and he doesn’t need complications….

Connor, Dave, Wesley, and Simpson are playing frogger in the MI lab…..everything’s forgiven.

Jenna tells Kyle she’s a single mom now. Kyle tells her that he’s there for her whatever she does….Middleton’s don’t give up. She then asks for a ride and he asks if she wants to go to the doctor however she wants to go to the studio for wardrobe fittings cause like he said Middleton’s don’t give up.
