After re-watching this episode it feels like the perfect book end to the season opener with its plotlines. The episode opens as the students are getting ready for finals. Albert Manning show’s up outside the school taking Craig off guard. He’s there to say hi and wants to catch up with his son.

2x20 How Soon Is Now Recap

Like I noted before when this initially aired in the US Anyway it was aired along with Shout which means there will be lots of plot continuity from this episode ahead as seen in the opening moments. Paige is in the guidance office talking about Dean and the rape. She doesn’t blame herself anymore and feels like she’s in a good place and may be ready to end her sessions which makes me curious as to why she’s talking to the school counselor and not an actual shrink.

The episodes open with some of the girls at floor hockey try outs. The cuts will be made tomorrow however Miss H who is the coach of the team pulls Liberty aside saying she made a great effort however didn’t make the team but she wants her to manage.

2x16 Message in a Bottle RECAP

Everytime I get to a Semma (Sean+Emma) episode whether it be fluff like Friday Night or slightly more angsty like this one I get emotional. I really loved them together and yes I will probably let my shipper side show as we do down the road. Anyway the episode opens as Emma and Sean are over at his place to work on studying. His brother Tracker shows up and he’s on the phone with his work pretty much quitting. There is some awkward tension and soon Sean and Emma head to the library instead.

2x15 Hot For Teacher RECAP

Watching an early JT centric episode like that despite how non dramatic it was got me rather emotional all things considered and I don’t know what kind of state I’ll be in when….well if you’re a reader who’s seen the series you know if not to quite River Song ‘Spoilers’ not like I haven’t mentioned them before now but anyway….The episode opens with JT in Miss H’s class goofing off and ends up getting detention with her.

The boys are playing basketball and its shirt’s and skins. Marco has his eyes a little too long on a shirtless Sean who asks ‘what are you looking at fag’ in the moment he didn’t mean it intentionally as a slur but just as trash talk however still it’s not a good thing to say and Marco is taken aback

2x12/13 White Wedding Recap

Simpson is giving an oral exam however he’s distracted because he’s getting married the following day. Class stops and he’s given a gift. While they are doing this Manny and Sean talk and he admits to her he still has feelings for Emma who has taken the day off from school and is back home freaking out looking for her mom. Christine arrives with a drug store bag saying she had a headache and went to get aspirin and wants to go upstairs to take it however Emma in Hyper planner mode ushers her mom back out saying she can take it in the car. I don’t know…something tells me there is more than aspirin in the bag….

2x11 Don't Believe The Hype recap

Terri is talking to Hazel about how it’s going to be international day and soon Paige shows up giving Terri a fashion ticket for wearing last year’s jeans. Hazel takes the pad giving Paige a citation of her own because at the beginning of the season I mean school year she had a mullet. She then goes over toward a Muslim student fully and gives her a ticket for her Hijab. Paige declares when SHE gets offended then the line is crossed.

2x10 Take My Breath Away

As the episode opens and Kwan is talking to the grade eight’s about romance Craig steps into the room to pick something up for Simpson and Manny has a musical fantasy. First I would like to say to those fans wining about the random bursts of song these past few seasons it’s not something brand new and two I just want to say Cassie Steele and Jake Epstein’s voices are flawless.

2x09 Mirror In The Bathroom Recap

Before I get into recapping this episode I kind want to bring up two things that interested me as I watched this episode. The first is that I was impressed at the way the A and B plot complemented one another which is something that I found both interesting and refreshing. I also was impressed that the first eating disorder plot the show did (There are at least two others to my memory) was about a male because most people don’t think they can happen to them as well as woman.

The episode opens as Liberty is giving announcements and is saying that Toby placed third for the school in some computer completion however it’s Sean who is the star of the moment being overall sports MVP of the month. Everyone applauds him and Toby feels like an utter dork.

2x07/2x08 Shout Recap

Like I mentioned before due to subject matter and plot continuity this arch aired as a 90 min episode along with episode 2x20 when it first aired in the US. Anyway this is another deep and graphic episode much like the season opener was however instead of child abuse the subject is Rape and re-watching I just want to say Lauren Collins gave me chills years ago and still gives me them now.

The episode begins with the spirit squad cheering at a soccer game….well the squad may be cheering but Paige seems to be watching a rival player with hearts in her eyes….

2x06 Drive Recap

Back in the earlier years before there were thirteen seasons and it was way too hard to pinpoint favorite episodes and re-watch them on their own without having to do massive rewatches like this Drive was one of my favorite non dramatic episodes because I love episodes in which groups of characters just hang out and have fun like the boys do here.

The episode opens and Joey’s car lot where Craig is helping him out. Joey hands Craig the keys to one of the vehicles despite Craig only being fourteen and asks him to move it across the lot so it can be washed.

2x05 Weird Science Recap

So, this just….yea I think I cracked up about 90% of watching this episode.

So it opens with Emma, her mom and Simpson having a ‘Family Dinner’. Simpson asks Emma about her weekend plans and the upcoming science fair and tells her to call him Archie when they are out of school. It’s easy to tell that she has yet to warm up to him because she calls him Mr. Simpson with allot of disdain in her voice.

2x04 Karma Chameleon RECAP

Not to be confused with episode 12x35/36 Karma Police the episode opens with Paige talking about a party to Hazel and Jimmy as Ashley and Terri walk by. Ashley says cool and Paige blows up at her saying how it’s funny how something can be cool one year and not the next then blows up at Ashley about taking Ecstasy at the end of the year. Ashley is sad and wants her friends back.

2x03 Girls Just Wanna Have Fun RECAP

Probably one of the few dances which nothing dramatic happens….well with the exception of the Jimmy/Spinner sub plot but still that is fluffy drama and yes I know that contradicts.

The episode begins as Emma is doing homework when her mom appears offering her popcorn and saying they need to talk. You know how me and Mr. Simpson knew each other back in the days of the original series….well we’re dating now.

2x01/02 When Doves Cry

Welcome to a new season and new school year of Degrassi. Emma and co are now in grade eight while Ashley and co are in grade nine…..what does this mean? Are we going to have a split narrative between Junior High and High School? Is one teen group going to fade into obscurity? Well this question will be answered quite early in my almost two pages had written episode notes however first let up meet a new character who this episode and many an arch for the next three seasons will be about.

The episode opens with Emma and Joey’s daughter Angie playing in the fountains in the park as a teen boy is hiding in the distance taking photos of them. Before you wonder this guy is not a stalker but the new character mentioned above. His name is Craig and the following scene he arrives home and his father is going off on the fact that he was supposed to be home by six. Craig apologizes however soon his dad flips out smashing dishes in the process.
