13x12 Everything You Want:

Miles and Tristan are playing basketball and Dallas who I assume is captain approaches Miles telling him he’s being bumped to starter. Tristan is incredibly happy for Miles and is glad he doesn’t have to take drugs anymore. Miles says he needs them and the other boys want some too. Tristan doesn’t want to be a drug dealer and Miles says he won’t nark and say WHO he got them from so long as he gets them.

13x11 You Oughta Know

Clare is excited cause she has a meeting with Meredith Fox the editor of ‘News magazine’ which is a big deal and she’s trying to pitch to Drew an idea for a piece about youth unemployment assumingly for the school paper however Drew is not amused as it’s not up his ally. As she’s pitching she’s out of it with her details however she says its nerves.

13x10 You Got Me:

Zoe is talking to Frankie and Kesha as well as other freshman about what she should wear to the dance. She was Prom Queen on West Drive but she’s still not used to doing things for real and wants to look good for her date. Frankie wants to know who she’s taking and hopes it’s not her stupid brother again. Zoe is about to say when Miles, Maya, and Tristan approach. Miles teases Frankie for hanging out with Zoe and comments that she’s dating Drew. Maya and Tristan are in shock and wonder what Drew’s girlfriend (nay Fiancé but they don’t say as much) would think of this before Maya smiles and says she’ll see her at the dance.

13x09 This Is How We Do It

So while the Summer season seemingly dragged on and on despite it NOT being in telenovela format like the previous three seasons it’s NOTHING compared to the school year that begins in this episode that doesn’t quite seem to end (and whose timeline is inconsistent at best…seriously 13B ends at Thanksgiving which is OCTOBER in Canada and in 13C it’s implied it’s January though everyone is all dressed up in crop tops and shorts despite it being in Toronto where there is weather and I’m just assuming as I type this since there are three episodes yet to air that 13D/the season ends at Spring Break with the shortened 14th season being the rest of the year….end rant.

The episode starts as like I said students are heading back to Degrassi. Clare is heading into the school with a hideous black wig and she’s met with fellow seniors Alli and Jenna. They tell Clare that Dallas went to get the key to the auditorium since it’s before school and student (senior?) council are getting prepped for welcome back assemblage. Conner and Jenna engage in PDA and Clare comments to break it up just so she can hug them. Dallas is key less and Clare is flipping out cause they need to prep. Drew already has it set up…. Sure it’s six AM but he couldn’t sleep and he wants to start his presidency (as a second year senior yet) right and the place is all good to go.

Students have now assembled and Imogen asks Becky how her summer is before biting her tongue thinking about Adam.

Tristan comments how Maya is lucky she has her crush set for the year but Maya says she’s there for music not boys….ha yea….Clare said she was at Degrassi for school not boys back in season eight and tell me HOW many of her plotlines revolve around guys….just saying blondie. Tristan calls her out on getting contacts just to have eye sex with her cello. Miles is talking to Winston about girls at the school and says there are a few worth checking out.

Drew starts the assembly and introduces the council, athletic chair Dallas, social chair Alli, treasurer Connor, secretary Jenna and VP Clare. He’s ready to kick start the year however he soon collapses onstage.

12x33/34 Ray of Light—RECAP

Well after the last episode weighted heavy on your hearts with a title like ray of light surely we’ll have a reprieve…..right….wrong….while there are some filler plots for the most part the final arch of season 12 was all about Campbell’s death and it’s fallout which is most likely why the hiatus between Zombie and Time of My Life….

That said this episode opens with Eli, Mo, and Jake playing video games in the student council room since Mo is dating the current president (or did Marisol stay VP while Fiona became president….I don’t think it was said) Mo makes a comment about how when he’s done the enemies of the game will be nothing more than lifeless bodies to which Jake points out that’s un PC to say considering Eli is still getting over finding Campbell in the greenhouse. Eli points out he can here Jake as the plug gets pulled on them by Fiona. Fiona has a film proposal and while Eli tells her that his career is on a hiatus per Clare’s orders (cause a Zombie film is not the best idea) Fiona insists and Jake seconds her insistence.

12x31/32 Bittersweet Symphony—RECAPS

Is it bad that I was prolonging getting to this episode….okay so fine my regular shows > my recaps and I’ve been working allot of nights the past few weeks but still……anyway I’m sure I’m going to shed a tear or two and won’t be offended if you guys do as well…..
Schools back after spring break and Dallas feels optimistic about things telling Campbell how he nailed it after his first playoff back and after all their setbacks they apparently still have a shot at finals. He spots Drew and calls him a drop out however Drew’s re-enrolled part time. Maya then greets Campbell who tells her home was great but he missed her.

Fiona is sorting the students for spirit week….there will be various contests for the week and the team with the most points will get a pizza party. Man Degrassi must be a small school if this is a cumulative thing and not a grade thing….though why not just make each grade a team….I guess it’s the rules of drama.
Campbell asks Maya if she and Tori are back on speaking terms however she deflects saying she missed him. Fiona gives the duo their bandanas and Campbell is on the red team with Dallas and Maya’s on the green team….with Zig. Tori and Tristan pass by commenting about how Zig and Maya just happen to be on the same team however Campbell vows to try to get on the green team too cause nobody and nothing can tear them apart.

12x27x28 Tonight Tonight RECAP

This will most likely be my last episode that I’m re-capping via DVR as according to amazon I shall be getting my DVD’s tomorrow (and by the time this posts I’m sure I’ll have devoured all the glorious extra content) Anyway this episode was a weird one as it actually aired in the US a few days before Canada and it aired as a double episode (though it was touted as a two part season {fall} finale and not a movie/special) since in the US for some reason they’ve never aired Degrassi on ‘Black Friday’ and they decided to air it on Tuesday instead.

Adam arrives at the mall just in time because Bullfrog is about to announce the contenders for the Battle of the Bands….you mean they were stressing all about it way back in Building a Mystery and WhisperHug hadn’t even been given a slot in it? It’s announced they get in as Imogen comments a girl is checking out Adam….Adam teases that no she’s checking out her. No Imogen’s right and the girl slips Adam her number asking him to ‘Call her Maybe’. Meanwhile Maya points out that the past four winners of the competition won with covers and they should do the ‘Superman’ song. Mo says to not say their ideas out loud for fear of them getting stolen.

12x25/26 I Want It That Way—RECAP

With an episode title being a Backstreet Boys song I expected nothing short of it being an Alli sub-plot even before the sub plots came out since Mindy is a self-proclaimed Backstreet Boys super fan.
The episode begins as Alli is toiling over her double coarse load turning down a photo of her and Dave that’s sitting on her desk as her parents come into her room arguing about who should tell Alli some kind of news. Jenna yawns commenting it’s early but the Bhandari’s say it’s never too early for a Surprise. Alli’s been working so hard to graduate early that her parents want to make her life a bit easy.
She pulls up to school with a new car and Clare is excited and comments about all the places that they can go…. Like art galleries and museums. Jenna comments that they should go to places a bit funner but Alli has no time for fun whether it be Jenna’s brand or Clare’s. Clare asks if she’s still going to the Jay-Z concert that she planned to go with along with Clare, Eli, and Dave and yea the thought that Eli is a Jay-Z fan still boggles my mind too. Jenna offers to takes Dave’s ticket however Alli still wants to go with him….that is if she can afford the time off.

12x21/22 Building a Mystery—RECAP

Since I’m still watching via DVR and not the DVD’s we get a previously on segment. We see stuff about Eli, Drew, and Becky/Adam’s plot which means if I were a betting woman those will be the main subplots of this episode ….. (I don’t think I’ve actually watched them since they initially aired a year ago so I’m not a hundred percent.)

Eli tells Clare that now that the musical has wrapped he needs to have a new project as Becky comes off the school bus and bumps into him. She then bumps into Bianca who is removing her ring to hide it from a certain someone. Becky comments on it and Bianca says tell anyone and you’re dead. She then runs into Jenna who she hasn’t seen in like forever and is all gushy because she got seven tickets to Vegas donated for the fundraiser auction. She then runs into Adam and comments about how she bets he’s glad that the play is over….not that there was anything wrong with it just now he has free time. The bell rings and Adam heads to class and Becky admits she’s had feelings for Adam since opening night….he must be a boy or else she wouldn’t feel that way and she hopes she hasn’t blown her chances.

11x42/43 Hollaback Girl—RECAP

The seniors are writing a History exam and Bianca gets done before time is called and begins to sit in Mr. P’s class fileing her nails while Katie comments how she needs to concentrate. Drew lets out a little giggle much to Katie’s dislike however before more happens Bianca is called to the office to meet with a court appointed social worker as part of her probation needing her to be interviewed and to pee in a cup making sure she’s on the up and up.

11x36/37 Not Ready To Make Nice—RECAP

Without spoilering Clare’s plot in this episode from the on-set when this episode was in production and behind the scenes twit pics began to surface I was really starting to think that Clare’s plot would have been something else….something that the show hadn’t and still hasn’t tackled before but I really wish it would cause it would be an interesting plot. Anyway at least part two is a Ramona Episode which means it’s bound to be good.

Jake is commenting to Clare at breakfast how they should really coordinate their schedules as to who is running late on which day so they can continue their pattern of avoiding one another cause it’s clear that they aren’t trying to work on the whole sibling thing. Jake comments how Clare is always locked in her room all reclusive and she comments how hard it is now living with two strange men especially when one said man is her ex. She comments about an empty milk carton in the fridge as Glenn steps into the room apologizing that it’s a bad habit and wishing his son a Happy Birthday. Helen didn’t know it was his birthday and we find out he’s only turning 17 yet the last crop of seniors were all turning 18 in their senior year though then again their Birthdays all happened in the latter end of the school year so Jake being the baby of his class would make sense especially if like in parts of the US, Canada had cut off dates for Kindergarten registration. Anyway Glenn asks if Jake plans to invite his ‘new girl’ to dinner causing Clare to roll her eyes as this is the first she’s hearing about it. Jake tells him they are just friends but she’s welcomed all the same.

11x34/35 Can’t Tell Me Nothing—RECAP:

The episode opens as Katie is in a conditioning period for the under eighteen junior national soccer team. Soccer is her lifeblood, her passion; it’s to her what applause is to Tinkerbell she needs it to live….yea I know she told Adam of her journalism dreams last season however apparently that dream is a moot point. She ends up getting too physical and elbows one hard in the jaw. Katie feels bad and wants to apologize however Drew tells her she was just in the way and eyes on the prize if she wants to win.

11x30/31 Nowhere To Run RECAP

In Canada I don’t know if it was called its original title ‘Bleeding Love’ or not. Anyway this stand-alone two part episode was meant as a bridge/filler between the summer novella and the back fourteen that hasn’t been set to air until the spring of this season. It was pegged by some as a Halloween episode and while it did air around Halloween time in Canada it didn’t air until mid-November stateside the first time that episodes didn’t sync up across North America since season 9. The feel of this episode is a bit weird and not cause it had the same ‘movie’ cinematography as Hollywood, Manhattan, Spring Fever, and season twelve’s Vegas. Also it was purely coincidental that this episode’s recap would be queued to post on Halloween (okay sure so I doubled up a few episodes to make it so but whatever)

Anyway it all begins on a dark and stormy night…..no seriously it does. Clare’s looking at a dress in her room and letting out a scream. Alli, back from her summer in Ottawa comments saying it’s not THAT bad as Clare brings up it’s not the dress it’s the fact that her mom’s getting married to her exes’ dad in the morning. Alli asks if she’s talked to Jake but he’s gone rogue all summer working as a counselor by his cabin. Clare admits she still has feelings for him but she needs to move on. The girls soon hear a foreboding notice and Alli thinks it’s coming from the closet. There is nothing in there but soon the lights flicker out and they see a mysterious shadow by the door. As the lights return Jake’s there and he wants to talk. He tells Clare he was just there to move things into his new room and he’ll see her at the wedding. Clare tells him the space he gave her was a good thing all things considered and tomorrow is a fresh start between them. Jake leaves the room leaning against the wall with a sigh as he opens up the box in his hand to reveal a bouquet of roses.

WHATEVER IT TAKES (in the initial air there was a special title sequence but here on the DVD we get the new season 11 part 2 sequence….. it’s a bit discombobulated cause it has a mix of old scenes and new which wouldn’t be so bad except the old scenes have students in the polo’s for the grades they were in last year sans Katie and Marisol who are in sport uniforms and Fiona who was retained while the new characters obviously have their new polo’s. It begins with the old Adam and Jake/Alli/Clare scenes, then a new scene with the new freshman Tristan, Maya, Tori, and Zig. Then the KC/Jenna/Ty scene despite them giving the baby up and being splitsville, Katie/Marisol, Imogen/Eli/Fiona, Conner/Wesley (despite Spencer not being on the show due to personal reasons then told they exhausted plots for Wesley and firing him), new scene with Mo and Miss Oh which is pretty much the same as the one with her and Sav in part A, Bianca/Simpson/Owen, and finally Dave and Drew)

11x20x21 Extraordinary Machine –RECAP

Bullfrog is driving Eli to school asking if he slept the night before. Eli said he was up late doing revisions. Bullfrog asks how he’s doing emotionally and if Eli needs to see someone to talk. Eli says it’s fine and it’s mostly due in part to Bullfrog giving him the pills or so his dad thinks. As this conversation is going on outside, Clare and Jake are acting all coupley out in the rain. As Eli gets out and walks toward the school he spits his pill into a baggie filled with more discarded ones.

11x10/11 Paper Planes RECAP

Anya is out with Owen at a club. She’s not feeling things however when Owen offers to take her home she says she doesn’t want to leave. The mandatory graduate exit meeting with Simpson is tomorrow and if she doesn’t tell her parents she failed to get acceptance into her first and only choice school the principal will gladly do it for her. Owen tells her maybe it won’t be so bad but Anya says her mom is her best friend and they tell one another everything. Bianca shows up with a few friends and they ask if Anya and Owen are interested in snorting a line. Anya asks if Owen has ever tried and he says no and he’s not going to cause he’s got an early hockey practice however Anya asks if it’s okay if she tries. Owen says he’s not her mom and she can do what she wants and so she trips out.

10x35/36 The Way We Get By—RECAP

The episode opens with the basketball team playing and I instantly know what episode this is cause while I remember the basic archs of the season honestly with 40+ episodes it’s hard to recall what plot goes where…..spoilers…..it’s the Drew takes shrooms episode…..anyway the team is on to the semi’s meaning that a year has already flown by since the drama with KC and Coach Carson. Drew wants to celebrate however he realizes he’s the fifth wheel to Dave and Sadie and KC and Jenna. He decides to stay behind and work on his game and I just want to give him a hug.

13x09 This Is How We Do It—Postmortem

I don’t know if it’s the low expectations going in or flipping back between the episode and Glee on my DVR between breaks or the fourth of a bottle of Seagrams Malt Beverage I drank but the episode didn’t suck
Sure the opening titles still like in the summer block leave much to be desired and look like they were made on windows media player and if they wanted to change things they should of went back to either the season six/seven ‘soap’ opening or just a simple title card but whatever…..also they said Ricardo (Zig) was in this episode but unless his scenes got cut or he was silent in the background he wasn’t.'

10x09/10 I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself RECAP
