The episode opens with the basketball team playing and I instantly
know what episode this is cause while I remember the basic archs of the season honestly
with 40+ episodes it’s hard to recall what plot goes where…..spoilers…..it’s
the Drew takes shrooms episode…..anyway the team is on to the semi’s meaning
that a year has already flown by since the drama with KC and Coach Carson. Drew
wants to celebrate however he realizes he’s the fifth wheel to Dave and Sadie
and KC and Jenna. He decides to stay behind and work on his game and I just
want to give him a hug.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Sav’s pouring the ends of a box of Life cereal and the birth
of a meme is born….Alli asks can’t a girl enjoy breakfast before going off to
school and Sav comments how someone is regretting leaving Degrassi for
Beachwood Preparatory Academy For Girls. Alli says she wanted to prove to them
she’s changed and they are starting to trust her again….she just wishes she
could make a friend that’s all. Sav asks what about the daughter of some family
that’s close to them. Melicka…. She treats me like a leaper but the rents like
her so if I can worm in close to her anyways maybe it’ll earn me parental
points. Sav then gives her the cereal because she needs it more than him.
Drew’s walking down the halls but despite leading the team
to victory he’s persona non grata most likely due in part to Vegas Night.
Bianca comments about him being turned down by the random Sophomore he’s been
flirting with. He says she shouldn’t bring his B game to the A squad or was it
the other way around. He comments how her number is all over the boys room and
she says well so call me.
Riley, and Zane are in class. Riley wants to hang with Zane.
Riley was thinking wings and a game however Zane wanted to take Riley to an art
show that his ex is having. Riley vents to Anya about it because he just doesn’t
know what to say at an art show and Anya says that being a good boyfriend means
compromise and he asks Anya to give him a makeover.
Dave and KC are talking about their double date and how they
are all going to Trivia after the big game. KC and Dave comment that after you hooked up with Bianca girls don’t
want to be with him cause and perhaps he needs to find a girl who doesn’t care….or
maybe Bianca’s free.
Alli approaches a group of girls who are talking about
boyfriends and why have one if their parents don’t allow them to see them. Alli
introduces herself and Melicka comments how yea her mom has a girl crush on Alli’s.
Alli invites her to dinner and she accepts.
Anya is at Riley’s helping him look for an outfit for the
showing and he’s not gotten his haircut back to the way it was in season 9
which honestly I like much better than the curls .
Drew’s in the music room playing drums. Bianca shows up
asking why he’s not getting pumped for the big game with his dumbass jock
friends and Drew says how they are getting pumped with their girlfriends
instead. Bianca tries to climb over Drew saying why should the boys have all
the fun. Drew says because of her girls don’t like him. She says maybe he’s
just going for the wrong type of girl. She doesn’t go the boiler room with just
anyone and they start to make out. After their lip lock Bianca asks if her
number is REALLY in all the boys rooms and she comments how his is in all the
girls ones…..kidding….maybe….she doesn’t say….she asks how long he’s played and
he says he’s been drumming a few years. She never knew and he says no one knows
because he’s not good yet. She asks him out however he has a game. He invites
her but it’s not her scene but they plan to meet up sometime soon.
Riley shows up at the gallery all cleaned up. Zane
introduces Riley to his ex the artist. Zane’s told Tom everything about Riley
and Riley is trying to play a part.
Drew wants to RSVP to game night if it’s not too late and he
plans on bringing Bianca. The girls don’t like him and they don’t want it to be
awkward. Bianca’s hot but she’s trouble and they don’t want distractions. Drew
rolls his eyes to KC saying says the one with the pregnant girlfriend as they
head toward the gym.
Melicka is having dinner with the Bhandari’s and Mrs.
Bhandari loves her already. It’s a shame she has to go and Alli comments that
maybe she can sleep over.
Riley, Zane, and Thom are looking at the art and Thom is
asking what Riley thinks about the works. He ends up brutally criticizing a
work not knowing its Thom’s. Riley’s sorry and Zane goes after the ex.
The team is playing and its halftime. Bianca showed up to
the game and Drew is shocked she came. KC says don’t let her distract him. They
say their hellos’ before Drew goes to the locker room.
Riley’s mom says he has company and he says tell Anya I’ll
be down….but it’s Zane. He says Riley doesn’t have to pretend to like art just because
Zane does and he’s still cool with Riley. Riley can’t believe how lucky he is
and the couple start to kiss however are interrupted when Riley’s mom walks in
on them with snacks. Riley doesn’t know what to do….he’s not ready to have the
talk with his mom. Zane offers to stay but Riley says he needs to deal on his
own.
The second half of the semi’s happens and Drew is looking at
Bianca and being distracted just like KC told him not to do. This leads
Armstrong to call a time out to tell Drew to get his head in the game and KC
and Dave are telling him stop showing off for her…..sidebar….this is supposed to
be a night game yet all the exteriors of the school during the game are daylight
and it annoys the crap out of me….anyway they make it to the finals. Sadie and
Jenna join Dave and KC and they ask where they are going Drew says he thought
they were going to Little Miss Steaks but its clear Drew and Bianca aren’t
wanted.
Alli thanks Melicka for staying over and she says Alli’s
parents are pretty cool. Alli comments how there was a reason she transferred. Melicka
comments how this sleep over is the perfect opportunity to sneak out to see her
boyfriend but she’ll be back before sunrise. As Alli passes Melicka her purse a
pack of cigarettes fall out. Melicka isn’t the angel everyone thinks she is now
is she….TBC
Alli is waiting for Melicka the following morning in a panic….she
shows up and Alli says she could have gotten Alli in so much trouble. Melicka promises
that she’ll cover for Alli if Alli covers for her.
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Drew tells KC and Dave that they need to talk. He won the
game and proved that Bianca wasn’t a distraction and yet they still won’t let
her in. The boys say it’s not cause of them it’s that their girlfriends just
don’t like her. Drew comments all you know is her bad reputation and not the
real her and he insists the three couples meet for coffee.
Riley wakes up and calls his mom into the room. She brings
him breakfast in bed and he says he’s not hungry. She asks if he’s okay because
he looks pale and Riley says he wants to talk about what she saw with Zane. She
says yes they were goofing off and not doing homework.
Drew asks Bianca what she’s doing after school. She says she’s
blowing off steam and invites him to join her. He has the finals but wants her
to come with him and maybe to the Dot pre game for an icebreaker. She says Drew’s
lucky he’s hot.
Zane apologizes that Riley had to come out to his mom and
asks how she reacted. Riley says how his mom is in denial. Zane says this is
good so he can hide some more however Riley wants to be out and honest.
Alli is walking with Melicka talking about Drew and they are
talking about how the hot ones always are the ones who are total jerks. Alli
comments asking if they are really going to pray and Melicka comments about telling that to
the teachers so that the schools two Muslim students could just go for a walk….she
then proceeds to pull out a smoke. Melicka sees Alli’s mom pulling out and
hands her the cigarette to hold for a second. Alli then gets caught with it and
her mom says she’s going to talk to the principal and come home.
Riley leaves a bunch of magazines and gay pamphlets out for
his mom to see before going for a run.
Bianca and Drew show up at the Dot. Bianca asks Jenna how
the pregnancy is. Jenna says it’s going great and Bianca comments how she’s not
that much bigger then she used to be and how she was an idiot for wanting the
diet pills. Jenna comments how Bianca thinks she’s fat and stupid but from
Bianca’s perspective she really was trying to complement her. They call Bianca
a skank and she walks out. Drew calls KC and Jenna out saying they think they
are all high and mighty and better then Bianca but they are going to be teen
parents.
Riley comes home to see his magazines and pamphlets put in a
neat stack next to his folded laundry. He thanks his mom for cleaning his room
and asks if she wants to talk. She says only about how he’s lucky he still has
a mom who cleans his room and asks if he’s going to shower.
Drew and Bianca are at the ravine and Bianca says she’s
sorry it came out as insulting with Jenna but she tried but that’s more then
she can say for them. It’s too bad Drew has to go back and play with them in the
big game instead of hanging out in the ravine with her. ‘Ron Ron’ one of the
regulars at this cesspool of debauchery whom Bianca mentioned back during the ‘Hands
on a Hardbody Arch’ offers the dup some magic mushrooms. Drew says screw it and
takes the shrooms.
Riley shows up at the Dot showing Zane the gay magazines
saying how he left them out in the open and all his mom did was straighten them
on the shelf. If she wants to live in denial land so be it. Zane asks what
about next year when he is out as an openly gay QB and Riley says how he’ll be
far away and they can believe what they want. Zane asks why Riley doesn’t tell
his dad but Riley thinks he’ll be just as deep in denial. Zane then asks about
a date night but Riley’s going to a baseball game and it’s a father/son
tradition. I’m assuming that it’s a college or minor league game or the Jays
are doing some spring training outside of Florida cause timeline wise it is too
early for baseball season unless the next three two parters took place in the
span of April 1st-22nd.
Alli pleas the cigarette was Melicka’s and not hers. Bad
things just keep happening to her and they aren’t her fault and her mom needs
to trust her but how can they trust her when she lies. Her mom says clearly the
school isn’t helping straightening her up and sends her to her room to wait for
her dad.
Drew’s getting stoned on shrooms. Drew has to go to the game
but he’s too high to play….but he can’t miss it…his mom’s going to be there and
she expects him to play and why didn’t he listen to his friends….Bianca is bad
news.
Riley asks where his dad is and his mom says he went to the
game with his uncle instead cause she told him Riley wouldn’t be interested on
account of…..that he’s going through something. Riley says he still loves
sports being gay doesn’t change it. His mom says it’s a phase and Riley say no
it’s not and when his dad comes home…..his mom screams to not get his father
involved in this before storming out.
High Drew shows up on the court. Dave and KC ask if he’s on
something. He says no but they don’t believe him. He says he took shrooms.
Audra shows up to wish Drew luck and asks if things are okay but she knows they
aren’t and takes him outside.
Riley meets up with Zane since the game fell through. He
shares his progress with Zane and it sucks but there is nothing he can do but
give his parents time. It took forever for Riley to accept himself and so it’s
going to take them some time too.
Audra takes Drew into the locker room and asks if he’s on
drugs. She asks if he’s high and he says yes …very. She goes to go tell the
coach Drew’s sick and he asks if he’s in trouble….very much so.
Sav tells Alli things will blow over. Alli shakes her head
saying she can solve world hunger and they will hate her. She asks if he
believes the cigarette isn’t hers. Sav believes her and says it’ll be better in
the morning.
The boys don’t win the finals and Drew apologizes. KC asks if
he’s okay and Drew says he’s got to see a counselor and he’s grounded. Drew
wants to hang but KC has plans. Drew apologizes for what he said to Bianca and
she doesn’t care….he was high and she doesn’t judge.
