I don’t know if it’s the low expectations going in or
flipping back between the episode and Glee on my DVR between breaks or the
fourth of a bottle of Seagrams Malt Beverage I drank but the episode didn’t
suck
Sure the opening titles still like in the summer block leave
much to be desired and look like they were made on windows media player and if
they wanted to change things they should of went back to either the season
six/seven ‘soap’ opening or just a simple title card but whatever…..also they
said Ricardo (Zig) was in this episode but unless his scenes got cut or he was
silent in the background he wasn’t.'
Overall the plots were mainly carryovers from the summer
arch (Adam’s Death, Zoe and the Tenners, and Alli and Leo)
Overall there are my bullet points without giving a full
recap:
Jenna and Conner seem to be THAT couple….you know, the kind
with constant PDA and even wanting to transfer into one another’s classes just
to be together.
Alli….well Alli’s plot is either going to end up emotionally
gut wrenching thanks to Melinda’s acting or it’s going to be a train wreck to
watch. Dallas you can tell still loves her hence the ‘the only key I have is to
your heart line’ and it sucks that they aren’t going with that ship though I
suppose by season’s end Dallas will play the big dumb hero and SAVE Alli from
Leo….yes Leo he’s back. Alli told Jenna and Clare about some super-secret date
she was going on and while the girls thought and hoped it was Dallas it was her
French fling who has moved to town with his godfather and plans to transfer to
TU….and Clare, Jenna don’t get all judgy….at least Leo hasn’t crashed a hearse
into a wall or swiped panties….
Maya has contacts but again wants to focus on music not boys
(BULLSHIT) though with Miles now the third musketeer to her and Tristan plus
the snippets’ that went down in the previews lord knows what’s in store….
Zoe….I am still trying to figure out her deal. What’s the
big secret as to why she got booted off West Drive. Was it some big scandal
like she slept with production or was a bitch diva or was her mom’s cover to
Simpson after she flipped out on Mr. P saying she was dyslexic the truth and
she was slow on memorizing lines….I really think the dyslexia was a cover cause
if it wasn’t that’s tres anticlimactic and no reason for being a bitch. Anyway
I kind of wish that Miles, Maya, and Tristan would of let Paris be in the past
and let her start with a clean slate and at least try to be civil as opposed to
making catty comments behind her back. Anyway she ends up bumping into Drew and
gets stars in her eyes and well…..I’ll continue on that train when I get done
sharing my feelings on Drew’s plot.
Drew hasn’t slept since Adam died….he has pills prescribed but
has yet to use them. He’s probably legally intoxicated from his lack of sleep
and yet it gives him time for productivity such as getting to school at 6AM and
setting up a welcome back assembly and it’s nice to see that at least in this
arch student council are the rock stars as opposed to athletics. Aside from
president Drew and ‘Veep’ Clare we’ve got Secretary Jenna, Treasurer Connor,
Social Chair Alli and Athletics Rep Dallas….they have yet to say WHY Dallas is
still at Degrassi when he was supposed to be an exchange student while the Ice
Hounds trained. At the first council meeting Drew proposes a Dance while Clare
wants to do some Texting and Driving Awareness Rally in Adam’s memory…..Drew is
opposed.
Drew then decides to take a sleeping pill and ends up
sleeping all right…hell he sleeps in and is late for school HOWEVER he has a
bit of a problem. He sleep called Bianca, banged around in the kitchen to make
a sandwich and ordered decorations for a dance online…. The dance decorations
are delivered at school and Clare is PISSED he went ahead with the dance and
didn’t put things to a vote….. Drew agrees and ends up filling the empty seats
of the council with young freshman and sophomore girls including Zoe who like I
said before tripped into his arms and gained stars in her eyes so that the
dance wins….again Clare is livid saying Drew’s on his own. The following night
Drew ends up taking a pill again and ends up calling Zoe who put her contact
info in his phone for council reasons and told her how glad he was they bumped
into one another and how pretty she is and how he thinks he’s in love……. This can’t
lead into anything good…..
Though WHILE all episodes are only one part they might as
well be two parters cause all three subplots are carrying over into next week…..
