8x10 Bad Medicine. recap

The football team is celebrating a win and Riley who’s not got a haircut is the player of the game. He looks over toward Peter and Mia with a sad look in his eyes as he has feelings. Cut to him at home with various weight training magazines and pills on the ground.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Peter sees Riley looking up stuff online and asks what he’s doing. Riley swears Peter to secret and shows him that he’s ordering performance enhancers. The pro’s do it all the time and it’s totally safe.

Derek asks why Danny is close with Leia cause she’s so cool and asks if it’s cause he’s all dressy and wearing vests. He knows they haven’t been tight in a while but he really wants Danny to set him up with Leia. Danny says he’ll see what he can do and I feel it’s going to be like the Rachel triangle all over.

Riley is IM ing some guy he knew from three years ago at camp however soon he closes down and chances after Anya asking if she wants to go for coffee after school She had planned to marathon the Hills however she’s a bit LCed out and it’s a date.

Danny asks Leia how she feels about going out with Derek. Leia doesn’t want to but Danny says please he promised he’d put in a good word. Leia tells her it’s a date but he needs to crash it to save her.

The team is in the weight room and the boys ask what his secret is. Riley talks about how he’s been hooking up with Anya and Sav comments it’s against the bro code to hook up with your teammates ex and then brag about it. Speaking of Anya they go out on their ‘date’ and Anya asks if he could be any bread what they would be. Anya would be a pop tart. Holly J shows up to take their order and serve it up with her brand of sass and soon Anya waves Mia and Peter over. She tells them she and riley were just talking about what carb they’d be….Riley is such a Panini before excusing herself to go to the restroom. Mia joins her cause girls go pee in packs and Peter comments about how the pills are making him buff and straight. Riley tells Peter he’s not gay just confused.

Leia and Derek are playing pool and the date is awkward at best. They then start to talk about Danny and they start to laugh and enjoy themselves. This is when Danny comes to save her but he thinks they are getting along and leaves.

Anya’s ride is there so she leaves and Riley goes to IM his friend and meet him for a secret run. Riley ends up freaking out and heads to the school weight room to train. The next day, Riley feels like people are watching him and ends up flipping on Peter in class.

Danny tells Sav how he set Derek up with Leia and he can’t believe she likes him. Derek is a jerk but he’s grown up and apart.

Peter tells Riley that he has roid rage and needs to cool down. Riley says it’s his body.

Leia asks Danny why she bailed and then comments she was all right cause Derek was cool. Danny tells her Derek really likes her and that’s that.

Riley and Anya are having a picnic in the park. His mom got a little overboard cause she was excited Riley was taking a cheerleader out. It’s perfect and they are about to kiss but Riley pulls back saying he has a project he needs to work on and is sorry he’s bailing. He goes again to meet his ‘friend’ only this time he sticks around.

Danny catches a glimpse of Leia dancing and watches longingly as Derek sees the scene.

Riley apologizes to Anya for flaking the other day and she tells him it’s okay….but it didn’t feel right. She’s still in love with Sav and doesn’t want a relationship but she really likes him and wants to be friends. This is perfect cause now she can be his beard with no romantic ties.

Derek tells Danny thanks for setting him and Leia up like he promised but that Danny should go get his girl.

The football team are gearing up for another win when Riley gets a text from the guy. Sav asks if it’s a text from Anya cause they were together for six months and it means more than a stupid ‘gay’ picnic and then Riley snaps breaking Sav’s nose.

Leia asks Danny how things were and he tells her that they lost. He then tells her that he and Derek talked and…..they kiss.

Peter gives Riley the homework he’ll miss while he’s suspended. He messed up he didn’t mean to hurt Sav. He’s always wanted to be the star athlete with good friends and a hot girlfriend. He doesn’t want to be like this. Peter tells him he can still be the star and have lots of friends even if he is…. Again I just want to say I LOVE Peter and Riley’s relationship and a part of me wishes they did make Peter bi…. Le sigh.
