Eli’s limping off the bus and Adam notes that Clare is
coming his way. She tells him that she’s got a job on the school paper and her
assignment is an interview with him. He says no sweat and he’ll give her an
interview. Adam says that went well thanks to his pills. Adam asks what’s wrong
and Eli says there hasn’t yet been an official diagnosis…anyway he can get over
Clare and will do so with the play.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Riley’s mom is pulling him up at school. He tells her that
his birthday is coming up and perhaps him, her, and his dad can get together
and do something special. His mom coldly tells him perhaps. Riley comments how
in a few months he’ll be graduated and at University and asks if she plans to
freeze him out until then. She’s not freezing him out she says and he asks well
what can he do for her to quit it with the silent treatment. She tells him the
daughter of a family friend wants to talk to him about sports scholarships but
she thought he’d be busy. Riley says no he’s free and she plans to set something
up for that evening….unless he has plans….no Riley’s good.
Dawes is talking about conflict and asks them to get into
groups to talk. Fiona goes to talk to Eli….about the concept….it’s depressing.
He says its ones opinion and he’s going to propose it to Dawes.
Jenna and KC are getting ready in the morning. Jenna’s glad
that it’s KC’s night off because his mom is working a double and she won’t be
lonely….yea she will…KC’s covering for the other dishwasher so he’s not going
to be around.
Eli reads his pitch to Dawes but she thinks it lacks his
previous spark and asks what Clare thought about it. Eli says they broke up.
Dawes apologizes and says maybe he can find a new writing partner…after all
writing is re-writing.
Zane and Riley are talking about how Simpson has approached
them about spearheading a health initiative and maybe they can brainstorm that
night…Riley can’t cause he’s doing something with his mom and it’s the first
time since coming out she’s talked in full sentences to him so he plans on
embracing it.
Adam’s in the DJ booth dedicating a song to Dave who is out
sick as Eli comes into the booth. He wants to bounce ideas with Adam because
he’s his only friend as Clare is waiting for an interview….Eli pops a pill
assuring Adam he can take up to three a day as he goes to talk with Clare. She asks what the play is about and he just
gives her a string of adjectives but he can’t say more because he’s late to
meet with Fiona about things.
KC starts venting to Marisol about Jenna. Marisol says she
can get his mind off his home life and she starts to make up little backstories
about the customers. KC is then told by the boss that the dishes are piling up.
Riley is with the girl and the girl say she should of agreed
to dating Riley sooner. Riley tells her he should have known this was a set up.
He’s gay but his mom is in denial. She
says parents see what they wanted to see and she used to lie about her boyfriend’s
being study buddies.
KC goes to leave work but Marisol stops him. Once they close
the party begins and she puts music on and they start dancing as they do their
closing side work.
Eli’s trying to write but can’t seem to get anything out
onto his word document and he ends up popping more pills before crashing.
Bullfrog wakes him up in the morning and he tells his dad his brain is
scrambled and he’s in a funk. His dad suggests he quit the play and Eli says he
can’t it’s the only thing he’s got. Bullfrog tells him when he got the call
Eli’d been in the hospital he was scared and if it means taking a break from
writing would keep him from self-harm again then it’s worth it.
Riley’s mom is talking about how Athena’s mom couldn’t stop
talking about the ‘date’ and how his dad can do a birthday dinner after all and
Riley should have a friend.
Eli gives Fiona a letter of resignation. He can’t write….not
now….Fiona suggests that they get Clare to write and Eli says resignation
smegignation.
Jenna calls KC saying how he got in late and how the kitchen
must have been backed up with dishes and KC says how he was dancing…Jenna’s
miffed.
Riley comes up with an intramural dodge ball game to help
amp up activity. Zane asks how the other night went and he says it went
good….his mom is talking to him and things haven’t been better. Riley excuses
himself for a moment and his phone bleeps with a text from Athena.
KC asks Dave why he’s not on the radio. He’s too stuffed up
and asks KC why he’s doing his homework now and KC explains it’s time
management school work at school, work and work and Jenna at home. Dave asks if
KC has time for himself as Marisol shows up at the table says she had fun at
work after hours.
Eli’s in the MI lab trying to write and he ends up flipping
out smashing a computer. Imogen comes in saying Miss Oh is coming and to hide
the evidence and she dives onto the wreckage breaking her nose in the process.
When Miss Oh comes in Imogen says she tripped over a cord.
Riley asks why Zane was playing hide and seek and Zane asks
what Riley’s been hiding….is he cheating? He saw Riley’s text from his ‘girlfriend’.
Eli asks Imogen how her nose is and she says she’s okay but
may need someone to smell for her. He
asks who she is and she introduces herself….Imogen Moreno pleased to meet you.
He knows who she is but WHO is she, what’s her deal. She’s a nobody, she’s been
attending Degrassi for the past few years (if she started attending as a
freshman she’d of been in the cannon albeit off screen since season six FYI)
she knows all about Eli from his relationship with Clare to his smashed hearse
to his highly reputed writing prowess.
When this arch first aired I would refer to her as ‘Stalker Girl’ allot
but pretty much though this arch Imogen is the Harley Quinn to Eli’s Joker. Eli
says the writing part may not be so true hence the computer smash. Imogen asks
what pills he’s taking and he tells her and she replies it may be the crux of
his writers block. Adam approaches asking what happened in regards to Tampons
blocking Imogen’s blood nose. She says nothing Adam Torres just that Eli
Goldsworthy punched her in the FACE! Eli says he didn’t hit her and Adam
comments she’s psycho and Eli nods…yea totally and yet at the same time he’s completely
intrigued by her…..TBC
Clare’s in class as Eli’s looking on her longingly. Eli then
turns to Adams saying he wants to try something….to see how long he can
function without his pills because they are sucking his creative muse right
from and he needs it if he’s to….well direct the school play. Adam says if he
has issues he should talk to his doctor as his Uncle had to take many different
anti-anxiety pills before finding one that fit. Eli says he’s not a lab rat and
needs his muse back NOW because he’s on a deadline. While this talk is going on Imogen just so
happens to be listening in from the background and is quick to snag them as
Adam goes into the sound booth for the radio show.
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Riley tells Zane that he’s being ridiculous that he’s
cheating. His mom set him up with a girl and she got the wrong idea and thought
it was a date. Zane asks if it’s possible the parents think it was too and that’s
why they are suddenly talking to him. He wonders if Riley’s slipping back into
their heterosexual fantasy of him and Riley says he may need to fake it in
front of his parental at least until graduation. Zane tells Riley he’s met his
family and is part of his life however to Riley’s family he’s a dirty secret.
Riley invites him to the birthday dinner.
Fiona and Dawes ask if Eli has been working on a new script
and he is….he even tells Dawes that Imogen’s his new partner.
Marisol asks if KC had fun last night and how tonight is Lieu
night and everyone is getting Leied… you know….like the necklace. Marisol
saunters off and Dave comments how he’d love to work at Little Miss Steaks because
he could use a good Hawaiian Necklace…..um aren’t you with Sadie….yea….down
Turner…
Imogen is suggesting ideas to perk Eli’s muse. Flash cards,
word association…..no Eli needs his pills however Imogen won’t give them to
him. He’s having withdrawal symptoms and is feeling suffocated at school and so
Imogen suggests they skip.
KC shows up at the house with a case of diapers. Jenna
thanks him and says how he’s washed KC’s uniform. Jenna shows KC a store ad for
a baby monitor that’s $200 on sale. KC says about wanting to spend my newfound
money….don’t cause I’m falling asleep in class and plan to give my two weeks
tonight.
Riley’s parents give him a fancy watch in celebration of his
birthday and his scholarship. His dad is so proud about him getting a full ride
to a fancy American university it’s more than he dreamed when he emigrated from
Greece. He asks what position Zane plays and they start to talk about sports
however his mom brings up how sports talk may bore Athena and her mom because
yes they are there too. Athena’s mom says how she’s also an athlete so that’s
okay and Mr. Stavros comments how when the two of them have kids they just have
to pick a sport and they are set for life. Athena comments how Riley’s girlfriend
may have something to say about them being together and Riley’s parents are
shocked to hear he’s seeing someone….Zane is shocked Athena would say this as
well and the conversation grows awkward and soon Zane walks out cause he can’t
play.
Eli asks if they can come home now how they’ve been out for
hours. Imogen draws a detailed picture of Eli and it’s his turn. Writing was a
thing he and Clare did together and it’s hard doing it without her. He just
wants to move on and Imogen tells him how he should confront Clare and she has
an idea.
KC tells Marisol how he plans on quitting cause he can make
just as much staying with Jenna and collecting welfare for Ty then he does as a
dish pig and Marisol coaxes him to stay and for the manager to promote him to
busboy.
Imogen cos-plays as Clare so that Eli and her can role-play
him confronting her to gain some closure….like I said Imogen is a batshit crazy
stalker girl the first half of season eleven and we wouldn’t love her any other
way.
Riley shares with Anya the carnage that came from the dinner
and how he’s either going to lose Zane or the respect of his parents and he
doesn’t know what’s worse.
Eli tells Imogen the pills were the problem and he’s free.
Clare walks over and Eli introduces her to Imogen. Clare asks when she can
interview him and he tells her he’s pitching to Fiona in the morning and
invites her to lunch.
Eli shows Jenna his new uniform and tells her that he was
going to quit but this girl at work convinced him to stay and get a promotion.
Jenna asks who this girl is and when KC tells her it’s Marisol, Jenna’s upset….she
knows Marisol’s game…..and she doesn’t like it being used on KC.
Imogen and Eli toast to being done with the Clare baggage.
Imogen comments about how Clare’s always been bringing trouble for him and
brings up his feud with Fitz at Vegas night and how he was going to go to the
Gothic Fiction Fest over spring break in great and intricate detail…..he
realizes she knows far too much for her own good and he tells her to back off.
She tells him to breathe and count to ten and to not let the crazy get the
better of him and let Clare win.
KC’s bussing tables and Marisol tells him he looks cute in
his new uniform. She says her MP3 player is broken so no party tonight. KC says
he can’t stay anyway because he needs to go back to his baby and his baby mama.
Marisol tells him she’s just glad she could help him and they hug and near
kiss.
Zane meets Riley at the Dot and he’s made his choice and it’s
not a happy one. He can’t keep stringing Zane along the way he has with his
parents and they need to break up. He still really loves him but he just can’t
come out to his parents even though he’s pretty much come out to everyone. You
can tell it’s eating him up inside.
Eli pitches his new show to Fiona who loves the pitch and
now all he has to do is write….she’ll take care with Dawes. Imogen gives him
back his pills and tells him she knew he could be the genius that he is and the
next step is up to him.
KC asks Marisol how closing was and he gives Marisol a new
MP3 player….she says it must have been expensive and he says not nearly as much
as the stupid baby monitor Jenna wanted. She kisses him saying she’ll save him
a dance at closing time.
Clare asks Eli how his pitch went and Eli says he wants to
thank her….she was his muse after all. Clare asks what the play’s about and he
says it’s called Love roulette and it’s pretty much a defamatory tale about star-crossed
lovers whose female protagonist is obsessed with a religious psycho. Eli then
walks away with Imogen dumping his pills in the trash
