2x20 How Soon Is Now Recap

Like I noted before when this initially aired in the US Anyway it was aired along with Shout which means there will be lots of plot continuity from this episode ahead as seen in the opening moments. Paige is in the guidance office talking about Dean and the rape. She doesn’t blame herself anymore and feels like she’s in a good place and may be ready to end her sessions which makes me curious as to why she’s talking to the school counselor and not an actual shrink.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

JT is trying out a mime act for his mascot routine in the hallway as Paige approaches. She’s in a good mood after just coming from their counseling session and they chat.

Marco and Ellie have a mock product they plan to cell for MI class unisex cologne. It’s noted that she’s still acting as his beard at this point.

During cheer practice Spinner arrives saying that they got the last school in for the Regional competition and its Bardell….Paige’s boyfriend is back. Paige has a flashback of the rape and heads to the councilor to ask what to do to press charges. She’s informed with time passing and the lack of physical evidence it’s going to be hard for anything to stick..

Ashley looks over at the storyboard Ellie has for the ad she and Marco will be shooting. She informs her friend that Marco has a thing for Bollywood (which just so happens to be a dance theme in next season’s finale). He shows up with lunch for Ellie and Ashley comments how perfect he is. If only she knew.

Paige is once more watching JT however her mood is the polar opposite of the way it was earlier that day. She tells him that someone is coming from one of the other schools she doesn’t want to see and isn’t going to cheer at the tournament.

Ellie and Marco are working on blocking for their ad and Marco comments it’s hard to do without Heather (#6) and so Ellie steps in.

Paige is in her room the following morning or a few days later whatever day the game is and is pondering whether to go to the game. She does and shows up entering the school with Hazel as Bardell’s bus shows up. She has a flashback and soon Dean approaches her asking what she has planned for the game and says that they had fun that night and she wanted it after all she was the one to suggest going upstairs in the first place.

Ellie has a new storyboard for the ad. A minimalist look without Heather (#7) and all the dancing girls.

The tournament is about to begin as Paige sees Dean and needs some air. Spinner comments about him being dumped for Dean and Hazel says what if Paige said no.

Marco and Ellie attempt to reshoot though Ellie’s passive aggressive cause Marco’s in the closet and she just wants him to come out though she wants him to do it on his time.

Hazel informs Paige she told Spinner that Paige had been raped in so many words but he didn’t believe her and soon they see Manny (who by the way is on the squad this year) flirting with Dean. When Dean leaves Paige tells Manny to not be alone with him that someone warned her and she didn’t listen. Manny says Paige is just jealous because Dean dumped her and is moving on. This leads Paige to sit and cry. JT sees her and asks what’s wrong and she tells him she was raped by Dean causing JT to beat him up and getting both boys suspended from the tournament. Spinner asks what the scene was and it clicks that Hazel was right and he goes after Dean. Paige stops Spinner and says she’s coming after him herself and to be ready.

Ellie apologizes for her behavior and Marco tells her she’s his best friend and comes out to her.

Paige tells the councilor that she’s going to press charges and she can write the next appointment down in pen. Spinner trades work shifts to have work with her and she asks him to the end of year dance.
