2x06 Drive Recap

Back in the earlier years before there were thirteen seasons and it was way too hard to pinpoint favorite episodes and re-watch them on their own without having to do massive rewatches like this Drive was one of my favorite non dramatic episodes because I love episodes in which groups of characters just hang out and have fun like the boys do here.

The episode opens and Joey’s car lot where Craig is helping him out. Joey hands Craig the keys to one of the vehicles despite Craig only being fourteen and asks him to move it across the lot so it can be washed.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Joey’s going away for the weekend and says how Craig can stay at the house himself and may even invite friends over. Craig is impressed at the trust Joey has in him and Joey replies so long as you follow my rules of no drinking, girls, or parties there will be no issue. 

The next day Jimmy, Spinner and Marco are talking about not being able to see a sold out concert as Craig approaches saying that Joey is going to be gone and they are invited to come over. Jimmy asks who else is coming and when Craig says the three of them and Sean he instantly declines.

Ashley in a new Goth look is working on poetry when Ellie approaches asking about what plans she has for the weekend and brings up she plans to get her cartilage pierced. Ashley is impressed and ponders getting her navel pierced.

Time clicks slowly by but soon the final bell rings and the boys head to Craig’s where Joey gives them the food he got saying he’s got all four food groups….Chips, Chips, Chips, and Kraft Dinner.

Ashley and Ellie go to the tattoo parlor where Ellie gets her ear done. Ashley asks if that’s the kind of needle that will be used on her and is told no hers will be bigger causing her to stiffen up. She’s then given a slip for her mom to sign first because she’s a minor. Ashley says she doesn’t think her mom will sign.

Boys are eating and playing cards however they are bored. Spinner has an idea and soon they are at a convenience store buying cheese wiz and Spinner is doing whip it’s.

Ashley comes home with Ellie and gives Kate the slip. Kate signs it much to Ashley’s dismay as she’d been hoping that she’d be told no so she’d have an out.

Spinner is still sucking cheese down as Marco has a dare. He hands the phone to Sean and Emma is on the other line. Sean isn’t amused that Marco’s idea of fun is prank calling his ex-girlfriend. Craig talks about how Joey trusts him and even lets him drive and so they decide to go to the lot the following day and take the car out for a drive and that’s just what they do.

The girls go to the tattoo shop for Ashley’s piercing and Ashley is nervous….asking Kate once more if she’s sure it’s alright.

Boys hear there is a contest at the park for tickets to the concert they wanted to go to. They arrive and answer a trivia question winning them but their luck doesn’t end there as a cop car pulls up next to them en route back to the lot. Celebrating their lucky streak the boys arrive back to the lot however Joey is there and he’s pissed off. So much for luck.

Ashley is on the table but chickens out just before getting the needle. She admits she’s scared of them and wanted to win cool points with Ellie. Ellie tells her she’s not like Paige and doesn’t need Ashley to earn points.

Joey reads Craig the riot act about betraying his trust and grounds him for three weeks and rips the tickets up

Not too much drama going on as far as plots and what not but like I said before sometimes you just gotta love a good breather episode.
