Everytime I get to a Semma (Sean+Emma) episode whether it be fluff
like Friday Night or slightly more angsty like this one I get emotional. I
really loved them together and yes I will probably let my shipper side show as
we do down the road. Anyway the episode opens as Emma and Sean are over at his
place to work on studying. His brother Tracker shows up and he’s on the phone
with his work pretty much quitting. There is some awkward tension and soon Sean
and Emma head to the library instead.
It’s Basketball Practice and it seems like after the stunts pulled
last year Jimmy and Spinner landed back on the team. They have made it to the
Regional tournament and Jimmy’s planning to have a party to celebrate it.
Spinner comments that it’s stupid that Jimmy and Sean are still fighting
weather it’s about Ashley or something that occurred off screen when Sean was
in grade seven the first time around along with Jimmy remains to be said. Jimmy
decides to be the better man inviting Sean to the party. He can bring Emma if
he wants. Jimmy then makes an off the cuff remark about Spinner’s BO which was
a plot point of last episode.
Emma tells Sean that his parents want him over for dinner that
evening and it’s more important then the party. They are going to have sushi
because it’s a special occasion so I guess Emma is in fact like me a pescetarian
and not a vegetarian.
Jimmy looks across the hall at Ashley he still loves her and soon
invites Terri to the party saying to bring Ashley with him.
Sean is pissed Tracker quit his job. He claims that his brother is
just like their dad however he points out that unlike the dad he’s set an
interview. He leaves to go to Emma’s house for dinner and while Emma asks her
parents to take it easy they still give him the third degree. Letting them know
he lives with his brother who used to fix cars but has since quit they give him
a sad look and he excuses himself into the kitchen for water however while
there he takes a drink before returning. There is awkward tension and soon
something spills on Emma so she goes to change. As Simpson goes to put coffee
on Christine offers to make Sean a doggie bag however he isn’t a charity case
and he leaves to go to Jimmy’s.
At Jimmy’s Ashley shows up but only gets a quick hello before Jimmy
tends to his other guests. Sean arrives and Craig approaches him asking him if
he’s been drinking. Sean admits he has a little and that him and Emma are over
for good cause he’s sure she’s pissed he ran off.
Ashley is about to leave the party but Jimmy coaxes her to stay.
Sean steals liquor from the kitchen and pours it into a soda
bottle. Emma soon shows up at the party and sees a drunken Sean who lies saying
Jimmy gave him the drink. Jimmy didn’t and when he realizes Sean stole the liquor
they fight and the bottle that Sean now has smashes to the ground. Ashley
starts helping him pick up the pieces however she soon also leaves.
Sean and Emma are outside and Sean rants asking why Emma cares
because he’s a looser and a failure like the rest of his family and he’s not
perfect like her. She calls her mom to pick them up.
Ashley apologizes for the awkwardness at the party and admits she
still liked Jimmy too and they kiss.
Sean says hi to Jimmy and is brushed off and starts to brood again.
Emma says once again assures him he’s not a screw up and says she still really
likes him and he likes her too.
