Before I get into recapping this episode I kind want to
bring up two things that interested me as I watched this episode. The first is
that I was impressed at the way the A and B plot complemented one another which
is something that I found both interesting and refreshing. I also was impressed
that the first eating disorder plot the show did (There are at least two others
to my memory) was about a male because most people don’t think they can happen
to them as well as woman.
The episode opens as Liberty is giving announcements and is
saying that Toby placed third for the school in some computer completion however
it’s Sean who is the star of the moment being overall sports MVP of the month.
Everyone applauds him and Toby feels like an utter dork.
WHATEVER IT TAKES.
Miss H is teaching about DNA and Toby asks if everything
about you is predestined by it. He’s tired of being invisible (hmm does that
remind you of the introductory promos of Dave in season 9 and Chewy in season
13?) and JT jokingly suggests JT join the wrestling team, Toby however doesn’t
see it as such.
Spinner meanwhile is impressed with Terri’s new cell.
According to Paige the cell isn’t the only new item that Terri owns and when
asked where she got everything Terri deflects and walks away. Paige informs
Spinner and Hazel that she thins Terri is shoplifting it all.
JT tries to talk Toby out of wrestling saying he’s not the
jock type. Ashley informs Toby she’ll be out late and asks if he has keys to
get home himself and Toby informs her he’s trying out for the team and is met
with a laugh.
Terri gets a call and tells the gang it’s no one while
Paige whispers to Hazel it’s probably her parole officer. Spinner then enters
the room asking why Terri didn’t tell anyone that she was a plus size model. (Hmm I wonder if her agent is Toby's mother cause didn't she say last season Terri had the look?) Terri says it’s because she’s fat and soon a random student is looking at the
ads and then Terri and makes sizest comments towards her.
Armstrong informs the boys that he’ll be accepting one
student in each weight class and for the try out at Toby’s current weight he’d
be up against Sean. So much for making a team right. In MI he’s looking at a
wrestling site and Simpson approaches saying that Making Weight is serious
business. We are then met with a JT and Toby training montage a’la Rocky before
they go to the convenience store to refuel.
Toby tells JT he’s only lost a pound in the last three days and ends up
buying a box of laxatives. At the next
team weigh in Armstrong comments about the loss saying Making Weight is a cause
for cutting if he’s caught before being paired with a new partner and making
the team. Toby lets the fact that he’s an athlete get to his head and he begins
to act douche to Kendra and JT.
Paige and Hazel are complementing Terri on her shoot and
ask when she has a new one. Terri says how the campaign wasn’t supposed to be
this big and she doesn’t think she’s going to do more shots because what the
guy said hurt her and she doesn’t want more of it.
Toby has blurred vision as he’s in the Café. Ashley
comments about his lack of eating and Toby orders a burger eating it in front
of her.
In the bathroom Toby is looking at his reflection and soon
JT enters and Toby is now in a stall puking. Toby claims that lunch didn’t
agree with him.
Ashley approaches JT saying she’s worried and thinks Toby
has an eating disorder. JT asks aren’t they for girls? Ashley says no.
Toby still has blurred vision in Simpson’s class. He’s
asked if he needs to go to the nurse and Toby says no he’s okay.
Terri is calling off her shoot and Spinner asks why. He
says she’s beautiful and that she’s real and guys like that much more then
twigs and those that don’t think you’re attractive are blind and dumb. Can I
have a Spinner in this moment…seriously…
JT tells Toby Ashley is worried and Toby says he needs to
do good because he wants to be better than 3rd in a geek contest
however he passes out on the mat.
Terri does the shoot and is showing off her proofs when the
bully is back. She calls him out saying yes she’s plus sized.
Toby is cut and JT asks if he’s alright and informs Toby
that he’s not invisible as everyone cares for him and was worried when he
passed out.
