8x15 Touch of Grey—RECAP:

A now brunette Emma is telling Kelly that she wants some couple time. As they walk down the hall everyone calls out to talk to Kelly with the RA causally calling Emma ‘Blonde Emma’ even though like I said she’s no longer blonde. It’s time for the floor Olympics and apparently Liberty and Manny were asked to help in planning it. Emma wants to prove herself as an individual in the hall and get noticed since she’s been there for three months and she’s only known for her former hair color and hot boyfriend.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Emma comments how Manny has her drama friends Liberty has her res hall planning crew and Kelly is….well he’s Kelly. Kelly opens up his thank you note to find a joint. Emma tells him that she doesn’t want to lose control and after all she is an addictive personality with her ED and all….pot could fuck her up.

Meanwhile at Degrassi Clare doesn’t see why they still have PE in High School. Um I don’t know how things are done in Canada but when I was in High School we had to have a one semester PE credit and by the time my sister was in High School and the mandatory computer classes were dropped that requirement was a year or year and a half I don’t remember. Anyway this is mainly a catalyst for a cute Klare (KC + Clare) moment as KC tries to show her how to take a shot. KC’s a natural and Clare asks if he played at his old school. Before he can answer however Conner hears noises and it’s revealed that Reese and other ‘Bad Boys’ are shooting off those popper rock things (I really don’t know what they are called….) Reece comments that not everyone can be in ‘gifted gym’ and calls the trio dorks. Armstrong asks if KC is going to try out for the team and he doesn’t know he’ll have to check at home.

The RA is giving out assignments for floor games. Liberty will come up with games, Manny is in charge of opening ceremonies and other people are given jobs but not Emma. She sighs and goes to find Kelly. She sees Becks and Gwyneth also looking for Kelly but he’s with his friend. The girls then ask Emma if she’s holding. Emma goes into the room and pulls out Kelly’s joint and the three girls get stoned.

KC’s in his room at the group home and the adviser tells him school called. He is freaking out promising that he’s been good and hasn’t messed things up. The adviser tells KC the call was from the coach and he’s been given the green light to try out though this comes with a warning. Apparently KC’s got a past and if he goes back to his angry fighting ways he’ll land himself a one way ticket to juvie. So what we’re getting from this is KC is a partial expy of one Sean Cameron and they are trying to make Klare into Semma (Sean + Emma) 2.0 which obviously doesn’t happen as while they mesh well for a bit by next season the ship is sunk and Clare becomes one half of probably one of the biggest love em or hate em super couples in the history of the show.

Back at Smithdale the effects of the pot are taking over and Emma is acting #Cray. Becks asks Emma to be her teammate for floor Olympics then dub her with the new nickname ‘Blaze’.

At tryouts Reece starts riling KC up and he starts to fight before storming out.

Emma tells Kelly she sort of borrowed his joins and wants to know where his friend gets his connection. She wants to share the love by making pot brownies. The Olympics begin and Emma is passing out the wealth. Liberty rolls her eyes at what Emma did at the event and Kelly comments that now everyone is going to know who she is. Emma says it’s all thanks to her teammate Becks who is passed out in the common area of the hall.

Conner shows up at the group home. He got his number off the basketball signup sheet and did a web search. He was weird a tryouts and he wanted to be a good friend and see what’s wrong. KC tells him nothing and that he should still try out. KC shakes his head and tells Conner to swear he won’t tell anyone. Conner coaxes him again to try out because he’s his only friend and KC agrees.

Emma wakes up to hear commotion in the hallway. Opening the door they see Becks being wheeled off in a stretcher as Emma worries she caused her to be sick by giving her bad weed.

Clare is impressed how KC can spend all the time trying out and still carry her books for her without breaking a sweat. As they walk down the hall Reece calls out commenting how he didn’t know how much of a bad boy KC was. He lives in a group home and he stole a car. He mumbles that Conner is so dead as he walks away.

It turns out that Becks was in a diabetic coma that was caused by the pot brownies. The RA comments how anyone caught with drugs will be kicked out of the res hall. Kelly tells her they should trash the goods.

KC asks Conner if he told Reece where he lived. Conner thought that telling him he was there would intimidate Reece. He intimidated him all right and now everyone is going to think he’s some bad seed just like the people at his old school, and his foster parents, and the judge, and well everyone he’s ever known.

Emma asks Kelly’s friend if he’s heard about Becks. The friend tells her yes and he’s trashed his stash because the campus cops are doing searches. Emma calls Kelly to get rid of her stash and as he does he trips up in the hallway and the RA and campus cops catch him red handed. The girls are freaking out cause Kelly’s not back and Emma promises Manny and Liberty they will not become accessories.

Clare asks KC how his tryout was before asking if what Reese said was true. KC nods saying his old friends used to spend interesting ways to pass the time. He liked the idea she had that he was a good guy and he don’t want it tarnished. Conner comes up saying they made the team and Clare asks if he caused the cut on Connor’s lip. Conner tells her no he took an elbow and Clare asked if KC wants to hang out but he can’t.

Kelly took the fall and is getting kicked out cause the three girls deserve to be together. He doesn’t blame her and they are still very much a couple but now she can explore res life without being joined
