Paige is bloodying her hair. She’s got a busy day. Dropping
Jimmy’s keys off, doing errands and having a job interview. She tells Alex she
deserves a rest after landing a perfect GPA in her victory semester at Degrassi
though a 4.0 wasn’t enough to sway her mom from dumping Chad and so long as he’s
in the picture Alex isn’t.
Marco asks Paige how long is Alex going to freeload and
Paige tells him they are lucky to have supporting parentals.
WHATEVER IT TAKES…..
Paige is going to interview with Andrea for a fashion job. I
remember when this plot came out it was a big deal cause the writers wanted to
do a modeling plot….though I’m sure most fans were hoping for something more on
par with Mia’s from next season but….whatever. Paige is asked if she drives and
she tells Andrea yes and she lands the job as personal assistant.
Manny and Damian are late to class and it seems like they
are together. Liberty is away at some conference and so Toby as VP is in charge
and he announces a unity meeting and is met with tons of groans. Emma wants to
do something to help bridge the school. Manny continues to look at Damian
longingly and when Emma asks what’s up, Manny says things kind of fizzled after
the fight at the cheer meet.
Marco is interviewing new roommates and we meet Griffin.
Paige and Marco outrank Ellie and he’s a keeper. Alex makes a comment siding
with Ellie however Paige points out she has no say because she doesn’t pay
rent.
Manny approaches Damian asking if he’s willing to give them
another try and soon they are posing for a photo for the paper.
Paige is wigging out. Her license expired and she thought
she could renew it online but now she has a three day hold but her whole job is
driving. Alex offers to be her driver for the day. Cut to what must be hours
later Alex and Paige are showing up at University House with couture for a
show. She and Marco are fangirling/boying but Alex thinks it’s sick how much
they cost.
Manny’s on the internet yet again this time for good. She
shows the photo to Damian and says how they are the inter racial poster
children for school unity. Damian tells her that the segregation of the schools
was his idea because Lakehurst needs its own identity. Manny thinks that they
should be together both the clubs and them. He tells her that she doesn’t get
it because she doesn’t get politics.
Alex blows off picking up Paige because she’s getting stoned
with Jay because Mel just dumped him and he needed a friend. Alex wants to go
get her but realizes she’s high. She tells Jay the dresses are the only thing
Paige cares about at present. Cut to Paige showing up all upset and Alex
apologizes for being a jerk and pulls off her robe where she’s modeling the
dress. Paige freaks telling her to take it off and to get out.
The next day Paige is steaming the dress. Alex apologizes to
her again. She didn’t understand how serious this was and Paige tells her this
is the first thing she’s been excided for since Banting. Alex wants to prove
she doesn’t suck and so Paige tells Alex to stuff chocolate reminders for the
show into envelopes and send them off.
Manny tells Damian that if she can’t support his campaign
for segregation then she can’t support him as a boyfriend. He understands
calling them the shortest relationship ever then playfully commenting ‘is this
because I’m black’ she replies ‘well now that you mentioned it’ and they
continue to banter. Holly J and Anya overhear.
Andrea is asking Paige about various assignments and asks
why no one has called about the reminders. Paige tells her she had them sent
out and she’ll try to fix it.
During either PE or Cheer Practice Holly J tells Manny that
she and Chantey have a thing going and want to know who is hotter Brad Pitt or
Kanye West. Manny says C) Ryan Gossling (DUH) and the girls are it figures
because he’s white. Holly J tells her that rumor has it she’s raciest. Manny
can’t believe this and wants to know where they heard it. Holly J says people
heard her and Damian. Manny approaches him and confronts him saying that the
comment is mudslinging and is going to help him with his campaign. Damian makes
a public statement that Manny is not a racist and there was more to the break
up. Manny admits it was because she believes in school unity.
Paige is taking calls. All the VIPs are taken care of. Alex
shows up at the studio telling Paige how she couldn’t get the ‘stuff’ out. Andréa
comments to get Alex out. Paige pulls her aside commenting about the candy
price and how it’s like three months’ rent and this glorified temp job is
making Paige act like a Diva. And you know the more I’m seeing Paige’s plot
this episode the more it’s giving me glimpses of Paige later on in Paradise
City (Goes Hollywood). Anyway she tells Alex she was better off as a stripper
and that it may have been low but at least Alex was working for something.
Paige then tells her she’s done.
It’s announced that the vote is in and the clubs are going
to be unified to include students from both schools. Manny tells Damian how
some things are better separate like them. Manny teases that smart boys are
easily manipulative. Damian teasingly starts to say that Manny is sexist before
clarifying he was joking. He then asks her if they could have one more shot and
Manny shakes her head and so he asks if Emma’s free. Weather this was a joke or
serious they do end up together so hint hint.
Paige tells Marco how she spent all her earnings on cab fare
to return the items from the show though she still has a job. Alex tells Paige
her mom has a cousin in Ajax so she’s going to move there and find a job. She
was more alone with Paige then without. It’s the right thing to do…moving on….but
it still hurts.
