Spinner and Jane are playing pool at
the Breakroom (Lakehurst’s hangout) and Jay shows up. He teases Spinner asking
how long he’s been rocking the mullet as Spinner pulls off his ball cap which
had a wig attached to it. The Mohawk from his last appearance is gone and he
now has a shaved head as he tells Jay he has cancer. Jay apologizes because he
didn’t know. He tells Spinner the Brightside is medicinal marijuana as it’s
better than the stuff on the streets. Spinner tells him that they don’t
prescribe it to kids….he’s asked….Jay tells him if he wants a hit he can hook
him up. Jane wants to move venues however Spinner wants to relax because he has
chemo in the AM.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Spinner asks Darcy how she is before
class and she asks him the same especially since he’s started chemo. He replies
that god for making crackers and he continues to brave it through class on
water and crackers no meds because they make him tired and loopy. He is called
on to make an oral for Kwan and ends up puking.
Paige is working for Andréa as one
of her coworkers comments how Paige is almost as good as how he was at the job…..and
that it took him four long years in said job before moving up.
The nurse offers Spinner pills but
he refuses to take them. Miss H says that he should stay home through the rest
of his chemo treatments but this would mean he’d have to stay back again and he
promised Jimmy they’d graduate together. He tells her he’ll figure out his own
way to figure things out and calls someone presumably Jay. Next scene he’s
taking a hit. The next scene Spinner is in MI looking at monkey videos online
and eating a sandwich. Jimmy calls him out on being high. Jane asks if Spinner
got her texts and tells her he’d been in a funk and couldn’t reply. She wants
to unfunk him and invites him to a concert.
At the magazine a photographer is
flipping out wanting to do re-shoot. Paige tells him and Andrea that they can
salvage things by making them black and whites instead. She’s told she’s just a
PDA in cheap shoes and has no say in the matter.
At the Dot, Darcy shows up and takes
a seat with Spinner. They talk and she tells him how everything she used to
think mattered doesn’t much anymore. Spinner then tells her how he’s smoking
pot to keep him from puking. He goes outside to smoke and to talk more with her
standing up Jane in the process.
Paige is taking a personal day after
her fight with Andréa and wants Ellie and Marco to join in.
Spinner skipped the first few
classes the next day playing the sick card and apologizes to Jane for blowing
her off wanting to make it up to her.
Paige, Ellie and Marco go to a movie
and work calls. Paige ignores it and I have to LOL at the voice over from the trailers
or the movie…..’’In a world where men are men and women are women one eunuch
holds the fate of the universe in his hands’’
Spinner and Jane are playing at the
Breakroom and Jane is trying to talk Spinner into going to some club to see a
DJ. Spinner doesn’t want to party just to talk like he did with Darcy. Jane’s
done trying to figure out where Spinner and her stand.
Paige takes another day off but
Marco is calling her out. She tells him she’s pondering going back to school
and Marco asks what’s more worth it four years of school or four years of being
an assistant while she compares her life to the little boat tying to climb a
wave in ‘The Perfect Storm’
Spinner is getting high as he tells
Darcy he knows he’s going to fail. Darcy says life sucks and Spinner realizes
he needs to fix his.
Paige goes back to work and gets one
final shot at the job. The photographer went with her idea of black and whites
and Andréa tells her not to get too full of herself.
Spinner tells Jane he made an arrangement
with Miss H and will be staying home and hopes she can bring him his makeup
work. He admits he likes her and she likes him and they kiss.
