13x34 Hypnotize

Tristan is auditioning with Imogen and Becky to MC for the talent show. He was inspired by the Hollywood Glamor theme and sings an original song…seriously I’m over musical numbers Glee this isn’t (though the BEST number of the season doesn’t happen yet)

After the audition, Mr. Yates comments to the girls that they have a great talent and Imogen and Becky tease him for being teacher’s pet.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Zoe and Frankie are auditioning to be models while Winston is recording raw footage for DTV leading him to be distracted. He comments saying he didn’t think modeling was Frankie’s thing and Frankie worries she’s not pretty enough.

Tristan is flirting with Yates again and Maya calls him out for always crushing on the ones he can’t have. Tristan brings up a plot that Zoe’s West Drive Alter had with a teacher and Maya kindly points out it ended with the character getting an STD

Imogen is supposed to be doing work for the show however she is sketching pictures of Jack instead of dresses. Becky points out that she has it bad and Imogen admits she does but ever since the semi-formal they haven’t really talked much and Becky tells her she just needs to do it. Jack shows up and Imogen asks her out. Jack says she can’t…she has a thing and Imogen invites herself. After apologizing, Jack says it’s fine and she was just about to invite her herself.

Maya asks Tristan if he’s ready for lunch and Tristan can’t because he wants to talk to Yates. He got the MC Job and wants his help on working on his script. Yates agrees however it has to be at his place as he’s expecting a delivery after school. He tells Tristan not to mention this to anyone as he doesn’t want his other students to be jealous.

Zoe and Keisha are in Frankie look at the model roster, Zoe is in, and Frankie is out. Frankie is worried Winston is right and she’s not pretty and begins to pick herself apart.

Jack’s thing is a dance class. She asks where Jack is and another girl points her out. She offers Imogen a drag and asks if all the girls at Degrassi are in love with her too cause she wants to get a handle on Jack’s availability.

Tristan shows up at Yates’s apartment. He is nervous as he’s never been in a teacher’s apartment before and Yates says to think of him more as a collaborator before pouring him a glass of Absinthe for the romanticism of it all.

Jack approaches Imogen and is so glad the other girl came. Jack comments how it seems that she’s met Lucy who is a way better dancer. Imogen notes that Lucy had to point Jack out as Imogen didn’t even recognize her. Jack takes a drag of Lucy’s smoke and offers it to Imogen. Lucy comments how she doesn’t smoke and Imogen says she never said she didn’t and she and Jack being to blow smoke rings at one another. Well Jack does Imogen coughs.

Yates tells Tristan he’s going to be a great MC even without his help and they soon begin to make out. Tristan apologizes for the kiss however Yates in turn takes it a bit father causing Tristan to leave.

Frankie asks her mom for some work done and she says no and asks what brought it on. Frankie says she wasn’t picked for the fashion show and her mother says it’s not about the look, it’s about High School politics and she should talk to the girls and show them what she’s made of.

Tristan shows up at the Matlin’s where Zig is there alone. Tristan wanted to talk to Maya however Zig he guesses will do as he soon asks the boy what does he do if a girl wants to ‘go downstairs’ on a first date to which Zig replies confused ‘you mean like the basement?’ Zig puts two and two together and says he’d make her dinner? I don’t know if that was a metaphor or… Tristan needs a second opinion and Zig pulls out one of Maya’s trashy teen magazines and gives Tristan the quiz of the week before commenting that Tristan is ready for hooking up.

Jack asks Imogen if this is the first time she’s gotten high and she tries to pretend she has done so before to look cool in front of Lucy. Lucy soon leaves and Jack begins to dance some more.  Imogen can’t believe all the amazing things Jack can do with her body and then we get a stoned lesbian dance turned kiss scene and god I’m wishing this show were on HBO right now. Imogen pulls back from the kiss with a case of the munchies and a giggle.

Frankie pleads her case to Becky who tells her she’s in and they made a mistake not letting her in the first round.

Yates’s class is dismissed the next day and Tristan tells him about how he’s sorry he flaked. He just didn’t think things would get that far. Yates says he thought he was mature and to just forget it and not tell anyone before handing him his MC notes with slight revisions.

Imogen slept in and is sorry. Becky asks her what’s wrong and she says she’s tired from her date with Jack. They smoked joints then danced then kissed. Becky scolds her saying hugs not drugs and even more so when she finds out Imogen still hasn’t made her sketches.

Tristan shows up at Yates’s to thank him for the notes. He says he only flaked because he was taken by surprise but he really is mature and is ready now. He kisses Yates who tells him to get in and it’s implied that they had sex.
