12x37/38 Zombie—RECAP

The episode starts off with Eli’s Zombie movie being filmed. Maya and Zig are playing Zombie’s and Tristan ended up landing the role of the slayer. Eli calls cut and to re-set for the beginning to the scene. Zig and Maya are bantering and Zig says he’s glad that Maya is happy again. She says that she’s never been unhappy and then asks him out to a movie. He asks if it’s a friend date and she says no….like a date date.  He asks if she asked Tori and Tristan about it and she says no since they aren’t her keepers or anything. He then asks what about Campbell and Maya says she can’t ask him cause he’s dead. She then turns around and bumps into a random….Harry and starts flirting with him.

WHATEVER IT TAKES….

Katie is telling Maya it’s time to get ready for school and makes a comment about the hot pink bra her younger sister is wearing under a shear white top. Maya says she’ll just say she didn’t realize her shirt was see through and give a little giggle cause girls in her grade totally do it all the time. Katie hopes Maya isn’t going through that phase where she dresses all slutty and acts dumber then she is cause if she is Katie will personally give her BFF Marisol a call to talk some sense into Maya….cause you remember early Marisol back in season ten when she would have been in grade eleven…..yea she was going through said phase which most likely ended come season eleven and the whole KC thing. Maya asks Katie if she’s a bad person for being all fine about things and going about business as usual. She asks if it would be out of the ordinary to date and Katie sighs before telling Maya if she’s ready then she’s fine.

Drew is pleased to announce that his lovely Fiancé has gotten into University and since Bianca will be miles away next year and the doctors may not green light Drew to play contact sports she hopes he gets into another activity. As she says this, Marisol comes on the PA to announce the candidates for next year’s class president… Clare Edwards and Drew Torres. Drew is in shock….who put his name in? Was it Dallas….this has to be a joke right….joke or not he decides to accept it.

Alli and Jenna are sharing the latest Clare and Eli drama as Conner is upset. He wants his Jenna time and he thinks the way he’ll get it is if he can get Alli a boyfriend so she won’t be lonely.

Drew wants to find Clare’s Achilles heel. Dallas says it’s her being too serious and they want the school to realize that Drew is a fun guy…and by fun he wants to plan a party cause his parents are gone.

Maya strolls down the hall in heels and a see through shirt. She trips into Tristan and says she has a plan to meet cute boys and Tristan is so in. Fab was a bust. There aren’t many places to meet cute boys however soon an invite to Drew’s party comes into their position. Tristan asks why the sudden want and Maya says she’s young and hot and presently unattached so why shouldn’t she have some fun.

Eli and Dave are working on the editing when Conner sneaks up on them. He wants to talk to Dave about getting back with Alli however he’s over her….they had a clean-ish break the last time and he doesn’t want to be like Eli and Clare with her…get together break up get together break up…it’s a vicious circle and as they are on the outs at present Eli is all mopey and into his film. Conner then gets a brainstorm….why not hook Eli and Alli up….I mean they are one of the few permutations of ships that hasn’t become cannon yet so why not right?

Margaret comments about Maya’s short shorts and tells her she needs to practice her cello cause she got a rescheduled audition. She calls Tristan up saying she can’t go out however once she’s out of her mom’s earshot she tells him she’s sneaking and for him to meet her.

The niners arrive at the Torres home and Maya snags a drink and offers some to Tristan who refuses and then heads off to see Dave. Maya then runs into Harry who is hanging out with Talia. Zig texts her and she turns around and texts him a pic of her with her new friends.

Drew tells Bianca that election campaigns are just popularity contests and he has it in the bag however soon Clare shows up passing out flyers.

Conner and Jenna are having a date when Alli shows up with flowers from Eli. Alli thinks he’s playing some sick game to get to Clare through her and she starts to flip out. Eli shows up at the Dot looking for Alli and an explanation cause he got flowers too….presumably from Alli. Conner admits to setting them up cause they both seemed sad and lonely. Eli hands his flowers to a little old lady and heads out to Edit and Jenna tells Conner he’s a jerk though to him his intentions were good and he leaves.

Zig shows up at the party where Maya is a few wine coolers in hanging out with her new friends. Zig wants to take her home but Maya doesn’t want to. She says if Zig said yes to her date proposal they could have been boyfriend and girlfriend. Tristan tells Zig he’ll get her home in one piece.

Clare is campaigning and Drew is pissed. Clare comments that nominees have to have equal access to voters and that he’s not smart enough to be president. Drew counters back saying that at least he’s not boring and at least he’s not running cause he was dumped. Clare then shoves him into the kiddy pool.

Maya likes Talia and Harry they are fun and aren’t judgy and worried about her 24/7. Harry asks why people would be worried about her and she tells them about Campbell. They tell her that she can’t let people tell her how to feel and she makes a video saying she didn’t choose to be the girlfriend of the dead guy.

Drew can’t believe Clare made him look like a joke…..he is a joke…this is a joke….it’s not a joke to Bianca however who admits that she nominated him cause it’s the perfect distraction and she believes in him.

A drunk Maya sneaks in and posts the video that Talia took of her and Harry making out onto facerange….TBC

Maya struts down the hall the following day and Katie comments on the video the younger girl posted on facerange. She comments about how it’s nearing the end of the year and people are talking about her. Maya points out they were always talking at least now it’s not about how sorry they feel for her after Campbell. Katie wants her to delete it but Maya isn’t and her parents won’t know cause they are blocked from her page. Katie asks about the audition and Maya says she’s a bit rusty. Katie has faith in her sister and adds if she’s caught making out with a random online again she’s telling mom and dad.

I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH (This is the last time the credits play like this sadly as the finale was presented in 'movie format' and the new season has shortened credits meant to add a whole 33 seconds per episode yet look like something I could of done in windows movie maker)

Drew’s all dressed up in a suit and is taking things a bit more seriously. Clare comments on his change of strategy and asks if he’s ready to debate.

Maya’s in the music room eyeing her cello and Harry comes in saying he had fun at the party and asks if she wants to go to the prop room and make out but she tells him no cause of her audition.

Conner apologizes to Jenna and Alli about setting Alli and Eli up. Jenna comments how he pissed allot of people off. Jenna isn’t mad, that is until Conner gives his two cents on Eli and Clare and Clare overhears…then she’s mad.

Maya goes into her audition and is told to play her piece first then the interview will happen. She nods, pauses, looks up, and begins to play.

Clare and Drew debate and compared to previous school debates it a pretty weak attendance. Clare tells Drew he can’t please everyone all the time…..

Maya finishes her piece and it’s interview time. They bring up the schools honor code and that her facerange profile is public.

Conner confronts Eli telling him that he needs to talk to Clare. Eli shakes his head thinking it’s too little too late because he was the one who dumped her in the first place. Conner then admits he’s so invested in Eli’s relationship because he doesn’t want Jenna to break up with him.

Zig and Maya start to fight. Maya took down the video and the fact that she was making out with Harry was because he didn’t say no. She’s pissed at the world and sick of having to explain herself to everyone. She chucks her cello in the dumpster and tells Zig she’s quitting and she’s done.

Drew is cleared to play non-contact sports and plans to drop out of the election cause now he has sports and he knows Clare will do a better job. Bianca tells him he’s not a quitter and it’s better to loose on his own merits then to walk off like a coward.

Conner tells Jenna he likes her too much and doesn’t want to lose him.  She asks who the third coffee he has is for and he gives it to Alli….he wants to have a gossip session and they start to talk about the saga of Eli and Clare some more.

Maya tells Harry that she chucked her cello in the dumpster and that her parents and Katie are out and she invites him over.

Conner tells Eli that he talked to Alli and she talked to Clare and that he should talk to her too. Eli however is having second thoughts and wonders if the break is for the best.

Maya is making out with Harry on the couch and the making out soon leads to Harry beginning to remove his belt just as Katie and Margaret show back up. Katie tells Harry to get the hell out.

Drew tells Clare she’s probably going to win and when she does she really wants her to choose him as her ‘Veep’.

Katie and her mom confront Maya about Harry and the almost sex and the video of her making out. Katie says it’s scary for her to be making out with some random and that she can’t just replace Campbell. Maya says how he dumped her by killing himself. She finally has her grand emotional breakdown after trying to keep it all together. The next day she apologizes to Zig for acting like a jerk and explains her letter to the orchestra. She’s about to go dumpster diving in hopes of saving her cello but Zig tells her it’s safe and sound in the music room. Zig tells Maya he really likes her and will wait for her….and why Maya couldn’t have just taken the summer for herself instead of becoming obsessed with Miles and that Zig didn’t become a bad boy drug dealer the world will never know….

The moment is here….and the new president is….Drew Torres…Clare seems rather pissed at this and starts to cry in the hallway. Drew excuses himself and Clare admits everything is falling apart. He promises to leave her alone but first he wants to ask if she wants to be his ‘Veep’ he knows its VP he just likes saying it the other way. Eli interrupts telling Clare he got into NYU. She’s glad his dreams came true and that he was better off without her after all. Eli wants a happy ending between them and Clare tells him they aren’t a fairytale and that she hopes he has a great summer and has fun in New York but right now she’s got to go to work on being Drew’s ‘Veep’. Bianca asks what that was all about and Drew says he just wants them to work next year which is writing on the wall that they so won’t.
