Yea we’re already at episode 40 you’d think this is the end
but nope after this pair we still have a whapping four (well two 2-part)
episodes to go….. Anyway this episode at least the cold opening gives me chills
now thinking of what’s to come.
Dave’s driving the Torres Brothers to school and they are
singing along to the radio. While the brothers are singing, Dave’s texting and
driving. Drew tells him to stop it because someone could get hurt and Dave apologizes
but he keeps checking cause he wants to see if Alli wants help setting up the
Model UN meet because while she’s still pissed and not talking to him he wants
to prove that he still cares after he cheated. I just also want to point out to
the wonderful writing staff who in season 13 PR claimed they’ve never done a
Texting while Driving plot……yea…..you did….and a certain someone was a passenger
to boot. End rant…. Anyway Dave continues to text and almost runs Alli over as
he pulls into the school lot. Turning off the car he apologizes and asks if she
got his text. He’s just glad she spoke to him even if it was just yelling ‘Watch
It’ as he almost ran her over.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Marisol shows up in Katie’s hospital room asking if she’s
all ready for her knee surgery. She notices all the flowers in Katie’s room and
asks who they are from. Most of them are from Drew who has been by her side
100% through all this. Marisol is envious about how Katie has such a great
boyfriend and how she wants that. She says how it’s going to be lonely with her
not in school but on the bright side they have their country assignment for
model UN…..USA which since it’s Canada’s southern cousin this should be a
breeze….Katie is apologetic as she has to stay at the hospital for post op observation
and PT until Monday and can’t go to Saturday’s competition. Marisol is upset because she needs her
partner in crime but Katie says she should talk to Mr. P to set her up with
some cute single boy and who knows double dates could be in their future.
Alli is running the model UN meeting. Ten schools and Over
Twenty Countries will be represented. Dave shows up to join and Alli says he’s
got ulterior motives. Dave doesn’t disagree but says while he wants to be with
Alli he also wants to genuinely help. Mr. P leaves and Dave keeps pleading with
Alli that he wants to talk but she wants nothing to do with him…. Nothing at
all. Dave looks at the event to-do list and smiles.
Adam is reading an essay he wrote about the shooting to
Clare however she seems to be staring off into space. He asks how it was and
she tells him it is great and makes her essay sound like crap. He opens his bag
(note the LGBT pin) to put his notebook away and finds a letter from a secret
admirer. Clare is colored intrigued and asks if he is going to go on a date.
Adam thinks it’s a prank and besides he doesn’t want to date until he’s all
surguried up. Clare gives him puppy dog eyes however Adam won’t budge.
Marisol tells Mr. P about how she needs a new partner and
Mr. P says she can’t pick her new partner because there is a wait list and Mo
is the next one on it and so he’s her new partner. Marisol rolls her eyes at
the thought however Mo is colored intrigued.
Adam’s at the skate park cause with his second lease on life
as stated in his essay he wants to learn to skate. Tori approaches him and introduces
herself to him because she’s never seen him at the park before. He introduces
himself back but she already knows who he is. Tori keeps following Adam wanting
to ask him questions for some project. She asks if he’s single and if he’d give
someone a chance….Adam unsure and Tori asks what if it was meant to be like
Chuck and Blair. Adam then brings the note up but Tori walks away.
Alli shows up and sees the room all set up for Model UN.
Dave’s got all but a few flags up and tells Alli she must have done some
regretful things in her life too and all he wants is a second chance. She
agrees to talk….the talk apparently leads to them making out in Dave’s car. As
they make out, Dave’s phone rings and its Jacinta the girl he had the random
hook up with. Dave tells her it’s just Adam and he can wait. Later that day when the making out is over,
Dave approaches Drew in the hall asking if he’s free on Saturday cause he needs
a model UN partner. His phone rings again and he tells Drew about how Jacinta
keeps calling him and won’t stop. Dave shows Drew how she keeps texting
pictures and Drew comments how hot she is and how he totally would go for her…..that
is if he’s single…..yea Drew like being in a relationship hasn’t stopped you
from scamming on chicks before. Dave doesn’t want her to get between Alli and
him again and plans to block her from all his social media accounts.
Jenna tells Alli about how she heard him and Dave are back
together and Alli says they just made out but things right now are still
complicated because he did cheat on her and she’s still not cool about it.
Jenna tells her the past is the past and you just need to move forward. Alli
doesn’t know if she can…yet.
Dave’s finishing up his purge of all things Jacinta however
Drew being the horn hound he is just wants to stare at her pictures a while
longer. Dave deletes them and Drew sighs. He asks what will happen if they run
into one another again and Dave says how she lives two hours away and was only
in the city for the summer so there is no chance he’ll ever see her again…..She
keeps calling cause he must of yet blocked the number and Drew tells him he
should pick up cause with all her calls what if she’s pregnant. He tells her he blocked her on everything and
unless she’s pregnant or has an STI he’s done with her.
Mr. P pulls out the Model UN topic list and wants to know
what proposals everyone has before the big event. Mo starts talking about
government issues however Marisol has something more philanthropic in mind…a
star studded benefit concert. She’s on the right page cause that really is how
things get done in the US because I can’t tell you how many concerts/telethons
went down after major hurricanes like Katrina and Sandy. Mo says she can’t just
throw money at problems it’s a serious issue. But seriously though Marisol’s
idea like I said is totally accurate. Mo is a douche and ends up sticking gum
in her hair because she makes him look bad.
Adam found another note, this time in his locker and he is
holding a stakeout. He sees Tori putting a note in the locker and Clare
comments she’s cute. Adam agrees but according to his face range stalking of
her she’s in a relationship with Zig. Adam comes to approach her and asks if
she’s the admirer. She says her friend has a crush on him and they should all
hang out. Adam is a bit wary about hanging out with Freshman being that he’s a
Junior however after Tori insists that they are mature for their age and her
friend totally knows about him he’s in.
Dave and Alli are out on a date at Little Miss Steaks and
Alli presents him with a Sheldon Cooper esque agreement. She’s had her heart
broken one too many times. She lost her virginity in the back of a van at the ravine,
Drew cheated on her with Bianca in the boiler room and then he went and cheated
on her break or not it still stung….and you know what….it just goes downhill
from here for Alli and I’m so calling a lesbian experimentation in University
for Miss Bhandari. She tells him maybe she doesn’t deserve romance and Dave
snaps his fingers and a Mariachi band appears and he gives her a rose and wants
to dance with her saying he’ll never break her heart.
Marisol and Drew go to the hospital to visit Katie before
the competition and check in on her. Katie asks why Marisol smells like peanut
butter and she explains how Mo put gum in her hair. Katie is laughing about it
and Drew teases that he’s doing this cause he likes her….In eighth grade
someone put gum in Katie’s hair then tried kissing her on the lips. Drew and
Katie then start teasing Marisol that she and Mo are going to kiss and become a
couple. Drew says he gets it she doesn’t like him because he’s fat. Marisol
says and cause he’s a douche. Katie and Drew tease some more before Drew tells
Katie he and Dave are France and give her a French flag to go with the American
one Marisol gave her and they leave.
Model UN is about to start when Drew notices that Jacinta is
there at Degrassi and points her out to Dave. She’s there for Model UN and Alli
checks her in and asks if Dave knows her…..TBC
They are finishing up an ice breaker at Model UN and Alli
soon tells them they have a half hour to work on proposals before they all meet
up. Jacinta comes over to Dave and Alli and Alli asks if they know one another because
clearly he didn’t just know her name cause of her tag. She says they know one
another intimately however Dave tries to brush it off introducing Alli as his
GIRLFRIEND. Jacinta says so that’s why he’s been blocking my calls and Alli
soon realizes she was his one night stand over summer break.
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Clare is going through the laundry while Adam is sitting in
the Edwards-Martin kitchen. He pulls out one of Jake’s denim jackets saying he
so should borrow it for the big date. Adam is having second thoughts about
meeting this grade nine girl…part because she is in grade nine and part because
his crushes on Bianca, Fiona, and Katie ended up becoming a total disaster. Clare
says that this girl is different; she knows you’re Trans and she’s the one that
is persuading you so clearly she’s into you. Adam agrees and decides to go into
this no pressure and see what happens.
Dave tells Alli that she’s stalking him and admits she was
the girl he was with over the summer.
She doesn’t like that he’s ended things and that when she saw model UN
was at Degrassi she must of signed up in hopes that he’d be there. Alli’s glad
that Dave told her the truth about things however at the same time this
development has ruined what she hoped would be a good day and she just wants to
press on and go forth with the rest of the event cause the sooner it’s over the
sooner Jacinta can be gone.
Mo confesses that he put gum in Marisol’s hair and he’s been
working something out in the resource center. Marisol rolls her eyes and tells
Drew he so thinks they are a couple and other people are thinking it too and it’s
just so embarrassing….embarrassing yes but opposites do attract and if you can
come out end-game with minimal drama in the relationship ridden clusterfuck
that are the Degrassi halls….well snaps for you.
Dave apologizes to Jacinta for being rude and suggests they
get out of there. Jacinta agrees and they plan to meet.
Mo plays Marisol some music. He was thinking about her
concert idea and spent the night before working on a song for their
hypothetical benefit to kick it up a notch. Marisol is totally impressed and ends
up not telling Mo off.
Adam shows up at the Dot and asks Tori where Zig and his
date are. She says they are on their way and comments on how great Adam looks.
The door opens seconds later with Zig and Tristan entering the diner. Adam asks
when his date is showing up when he realizes that said date is Tristan and he
says he thinks there is a misunderstanding…. Adam’s not gay. Tori asks why he
had the pin on his bag and Adam tells them he’s the T in LGBT not the G.
Tristan walks out ashamed and Tori follows them out. Zig asks what the T stands
for.
Dave and Jacinta are driving and Dave goes to text Alli saying
they’ll be back soon. Jacinta points out its illegal and he knows because he’s
a cop and all. She asks where they are going and Dave says to the train station….he’s
sending her home so he can be with Alli. She breaks down saying she loves him
and that he can’t just sleep with her and have it mean nothing. They stop at a
red-light and Jacinta takes Dave’s phone and texts Alli saying that they are
back together. The light turns green and Dave has to move his car.
Model UN happens and Alli is wondering where Dave is before
asking for proposals. Mo and Marisol give their benefit proposal. Alli leaves
to go pee and she’s freaking out. Jenna follows her and comments how Jacinta isn’t
there either. She sees the texts Jacinta sent through Dave’s phone saying how
Dave loves her and Alli’s pissed and heartbroken.
Dave pulls over to park and chases down Jacinta who is
tearful as she’s texting Alli via Dave’s phone. She threatens to smash it and
says how Alli will never love him the way she does. She then walks into the
street texting Alli some more and gets hit by a car.
Adam tells Clare about the disaster that was the date when
Clare tells him while it was an embarrassing situation in the moment they thought
of him as a gay GUY….a GUY not a girl…. He’s passing for male. Adam says it’s
true but he feels sorry for Tristan.
Model UN is still going on and Mo and Marisol asks if he
thinks they have a chance. Marisol comments how she kind of likes him too and
Mo says he didn’t have a crush on her he was just being friendly. Marisol then
walks out of the meeting.
Jacinta is being loaded into an ambulance as Dave looks on
guilt ridden.
Adam shows up at the Dot again to talk to Tristan. He gets
the rejected feeling. He says how the first girl he liked ripped his shirt open
in front of the school and got her friends to toss him into a glass door.
Tristan says yea his brother was suspended for that….his brother is Owen. The
second girl only wanted to be with him when he was drunk. Tristan says that he
didn’t even want to pursue him it was Tori’s idea….Tristan tells him that he
never thought he was gay that Tori just has sucky gaydar.
Officer Turner shows up asking if Dave is okay. Dave is
still in shock and is scared…what if she dies?
Marisol calls Katie to vent about things….she asks if Mo
confessed his feelings and she says no…it was a disaster. Mo shows up and tells
Marisol they won the peace prize. He also wants to say the reason he never had
a crush on her was because he thought she was out of his league and that he wouldn’t
have even stood a chance. They end up sharing a kiss.
Dave shows up at Degrassi and Alli chews him out about
things. Dave breaks down saying how he was taking her to the train station and
how she stole the phone and then ran into the street and got hit by a car and
now she’s in surgery and may never walk again and it’s all his fault. Alli
tells her it was an accident and it’s no one’s fault……
