KC’s rocking Ty at Degrassi as Marisol comes over and KC
tells her that they need to cool things down at school because Jenna’s in Simpson’s
office talking about coming back. Jenna tells him that she can’t because she
doesn’t have proper child care. KC suggests that she talks to the moms in her
mommy and me group to see how they deal with juggling motherhood and real life.
Jenna nods saying one way or another she needs to get back to Degrassi.
Sav and Chantey are working on some assignment and he’s
talking about Miss Oh and is fanboying hard. Chantey teases that he’s crushing
however he denies it. When the teacher asks if he’d meet up with her to work on
music for the play he says it’s a date and Chantey teases him more about his so
called crush on the teacher.
Speaking of the play a PA announcement that tickets are on
sale fills the air as Jake walks Clare to her next class. He asks if she’s got
any more ideas for avoiding their parents. She says that her mom is working
late and he can come over to renovate her room. He can’t and when she asks why
he tells her he’s working on sets for the play. He tells her he’s glad he’s
found something he likes to do at the school….besides her.
Jenna’s with the other mommies at the Dot. These Yuppies are
a far cry from a teen mom and talk about their nannies….clearly that’s not an
option for her.
Sav brought his favorite scores for Miss Oh to listen
however she tells him to wait and soon Mo and a few more students show up in
the room. These are Degrassi’s most brilliant musicians and she’s making it a
contest…the one with the best concept gets to work with her.
Clare asks Adam if he thinks Eli would deliberately sabotage
her and Jake’s relationship and she’s letting paranoia settle in.
Ty’s sitting in the middle of the room in his carrier crying
as Lisa comes to pick him up. She tells Jenna she can’t leave him just lying
like that. Jenna flips out. She asks how Lisa did it when she had KC. She says
how she didn’t go back to school and fell into a dark place in her life. Jenna
tells her all these other mommies have all the help in the world and she’s got
a dead mom a deadbeat dad and Kyle moved back to Alberta. Now I don’t want to
scroll back on my recaps to fact check but I could have sworn Jenna once said
her mom was in Nashville or was it her dad and I’ve just gotten turned around.
Anyway Lisa offers to watch Ty during the day so Jenna can go back to school
part time.
Sav is listening to his score and Mo shakes his head playing
his for him saying if you want to work with a hottie like Miss Oh you need to
bring an A game.
Jenna shows up at the steakhouse and wants to celebrate the
new arrangement of going to Degrassi half day. She needs her life to be semi
normal again and she’s excited. She shows up the following day and embraces
Alli saying that school is her escape. Mr. P is talking about Wiki-leaks and
Dave soon points out she’s leaking….her breast that is. She needs to pump but
she doesn’t want to leave class because she is so behind on lectures but is
forced to leave anyway.
Mo plays his song and Miss Oh loves it and then Sav plays
his score where he ripped off the slot machine effect from the other boy. Sav
is chosen however the teacher says he and Mo should team up.
Jenna was banking on lunching with KC however he’s busy with
dodge ball and Jenna finds out that he and Marisol are the co-captains of a
team. Jenna says that she’s always the last one to know things and Alli says
she can sit with him tomorrow. Jenna says if there is a tomorrow because she’s
already leaked in class and now that. Alli suggests maybe Jenna help Sav with
music for the play and then stops working on applications for a science program
to sit and eat with her.
Fiona and Eli are working on play stuff when Clare shows up.
It’s bad enough this play is besmirching my character but to bring Jake into
this….Clare tells Eli that he’s unstable. Clare is told that he’d never besmirch
her intentional but the creative process works in mysterious ways and besides
Jake will be out of her life in no time.
Jenna shows up and Sav is glad that he’s got help because
he’s gotten writers block. He asks if she can come jam in the music room and
she says sure she’s sure Lisa can watch Ty a bit longer. Mo rolls his eyes because
Sav told him he worked alone and Mo ends up swiping his portable hard drive
with all his music.
Clare starts searching Eli’s bag looking for drugs as she watches
Jake on a catwalk hanging lights….she offers to steady it because she’s a bit
paranoid.
Jenna had Ty on the changing table when a blast of
inspiration hit. She goes to grab her guitar and write only to be jolted by the
cries of Ty rolling onto the floor and crying.
Sav’s looking for his hard drive when Mo shows up
blackmailing Sav….either he makes him co-composer or he’ll leak the song that
Sav wrote about Miss Oh to the school.
KC goes to the hospital asking what happened. Jenna says he
was on the change table and he fell. Jenna and KC are fighting about things as
the doctor shows up. Good news is TY is okay but he may have a concussion so he
should be monitored….also she had to file a report with children’s
services…..TBC
Jenna and KC wake up with Ty on the couch and Jenna’s
freaking out that one of them didn’t stay awake to monitor the baby. KC goes to
take the baby to Lisa as the phone rings. Jenna informs KC that she can’t go
back to school again at least not that day because child’s services is coming.
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Mo and Sav are listening to a new and improved score and Sav
says how with Jenna’s vocals it would rock. Mo teases more about Miss Oh and
Sav tells him to can it.
Clare is now wanting to help Jake with sets and Jake knows
something is up. She wants to make sure Eli isn’t wanting to hurt him as last
year he did try to drug Fitz. Jake said he knows and it was an accident, Eli
didn’t think he’d drink it…or that’s the line he’s telling everyone. Jake is
sure it’s all water under the bridge as Eli’s even asked him to read for
‘Fritz’ the Fitz expy at their read through later on.
Jenna’s working on the song as she and Lisa are getting the
house all babies ready for the social workers and KC is supposed to drop by at
lunch to get more supplies. Lisa tells Jenna to go to Degrassi to go present
her song cause the meeting isn’t till two and she knows what it’s like being a
teenager. Jenna does and presents the song before leaving.
When Jenna and Miss Oh leave, Mo tells her that he needs to
go for it with Miss Oh.
Clare is venting to Adam about the latest draft of the play
and how he wants Jake to read it and how it’s allegedly based on a true story.
She then gets the brilliant idea to use the fact that she’s chronicling the
play for the Daily to sit in at said reading.
Jenna thanks Alli for letting her know about Sav and tells
her how great the proposal went and now to go meet with children’s services.
Alli asks if everything’s okay and she says it will be. She asks where KC is
and then she sees KC going off campus with Marisol. Dave tells her yes something’s
going on…..
Sav shows up to lunch with Miss Oh….Mo told her she couldn’t
make it. She says Mo has e-mailed her the tracks however they aren’t the tracks
it’s the song he wrote for her. Sav’s now going to kill him.
KC shows up with the supplies and Jenna confronts him. She’s
got his time sheets. His shift ends at nine but he’s home at eleven. She’s been
home all depressed and he’s having an affair. He says well she was the one in
denial so long that she missed her window for getting an abortion. KC comments
how it’s because she tried to have a life that Ty fell. Jenna whacks him in the
head with it as the councilor arrives. She asks about their support system and
tells them that Ty can’t be alone with Lisa and that she’ll be back
sporadically with surprise visits and asks who will be there.
Sav tells Mo that the play’s all his now and how he can’t
believe he did that. Mo just wanted to be his wingman and he’s sorry. He makes
it up to Sav by inviting him to a sold out show.
Jenna is crying because her life is over. KC says it’s only
five years until Ty’s at Kindergarten. KC then suggests he gets more shifts at
the steakhouse so they can afford a sitter. She can’t believe his solution is
to just spend more time with the other woman and she walks out leaving KC stuck
with the baby.
Clare’s at the table read and soon speaks up. This isn’t
what happened. Eli says it’s just a play and Clare points out the fact that
he’s touting it as based on a true story. Imogen comments how one wonders why
Eli dumped her (oh Imo it was the other way around sweetie) and Clare tells her
to stay out of it. Fiona tells her it’s a closed set now and no more press
kicking her out.
Sav and Mo are at the show when Miss Oh comes in with some
friends.
Clare and Jake are in the truck and she’s venting about what
isn’t true and how Eli is using his position as playwright to screw her over
and he obviously wants Jake to want to dump her. Jake tells her that Eli’s
weird…he wears eyeliner and writes plays and he’d never believe him over her.
Jenna’s sulking down the streets.
The band is playing and Mo asks Sav why he doesn’t go and
say hi. Sav can’t he’s nervous and Mo tells him he knows a back way….said back
way is bumping into the teacher. Miss Oh was just talking about him and how he
wrote a song for her. She tells him outside of school to call her Winnie and
asks if he wants to join her and her friends.
Jenna’s being observed by the social service worker who is
asking KC if this is when he leaves for school. KC asks if she’s going to be on
them at every visit. Jenna asks what about adoption and if it’s still optional.
KC doesn’t want to do it but he’s not the one that has to give up his life to
parent. From a writers perspective I kind of wish this plotline and Holly J’s
from the last episode were in the same episode with its parallel of a plot…they
did both air in Week 4 of the ‘Now or Never’ arch though.
Mo wants all the gory details of Sav’s time with Miss Oh.
Sav says they watched the show together and how she told him to call him
Winnie. Mo comments he has a shot however when he calls her Winnie in school
she corrects him saying isn’t Miss Oh.
Clare shows up in the theater. She read the script and she
tells him it’s beautiful. Eli comments how he made changes and Clare comments
how he’s made Clara the hero and Eli says that’s because she is the
hero….swoon.
KC shows up and Jenna asks if he’s giving her the silent
treatment. He doesn’t like how she blindsided him and he doesn’t want to lose
his son and be a failure. Jenna tells him it’s too late he’s a failure as is
she…they are struggling teen parents and they are turning on each other. Jenna
tells KC that they could give him a better life. KC tells her that if they give
him up there is no reason for her to live with him anymore and she nods saying
and no reason to be a couple either….ouch
