Holly J as well as Chantey, Fiona, Katie and a few other
juniors and seniors are practicing their runway walks for the Prom Fashion
Show. Holly J watches as Katie and Chantey walk the catwalk before showing them
how to do things…..she loses her balance and collapses.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
The doctor tells her that she was dehydrated and has a low
blood pressure. The Doctor tells Holly J that her kidneys are deteriorating
worse than he thought and she now needs dialysis daily as well as considering a
transplant.
Dave and Adam are on the air with Katie to promote the Prom
Fashion Show Fundraiser. Dave’s the MC and Adam and Katie get a bit flirty.
Imogen’s read Eli’s latest pages for the play and they hit
her right in the heart. She asks him who he sees as Clara and he tells her that
if she wants to play her she should audition and how she also should go and
observe Clare.
The girls are rehearsing for the fundraiser as Holly J looks
forlorn. Fiona asks what’s up and she says she needs a transplant….but someone
from her family is bound to be a match. Fiona has her support and Holly J
leaves to go home to rest putting Katie in charge of the event.
Dave comments to Adam that Katie has been giving her signals
and that he should sign up for the fashion show. Dave knows Adam is a guy and
that soon him and Katie will be joining Dave and Alli on double dates.
Clare’s in the café eating and Imogen is pantomiming her
every move. Imogen tells her that she wants to be like her cause she wants to
land the roll of Clara. Clare comments how a voice in her head tells her that
it’s a bad idea. Imogen is impressed that Clare hears voices too. Imogen says
she wants to impress Eli but if it’s a conflict of interest….it’s not….Clare’s
got a new boyfriend and has moved past the drama and she just wants Eli to be
happy and so she’ll help.
Adam shows up and asks Katie if she still needs volunteers
for the show. She says it depends on if he’s keen on wearing a silly tuxedo
printed tee shirt. Adam is despite them being rather tight because the other
guys wanted them form fitting. Katie tells him she’ll pair him up with one of
the other girls however Adam asks if he can be with her. She nods and Adam
warns he may just one-up her with his mean Zoolander impression. After showing
Katie his ‘blue steel’ Adam asks if she knows that he’s trans* Katie nods and
says she does…she just thinks of him as one of the guys.
The doctor comes in telling Holly J that her family is all
AB while she’s type A which is an anomaly. Her mom assures her that they’ll
find someone to be a match.
Imogen’s returning a stack of Clare’s books that she’s spent
up all night reading. She wants to borrow some of Clare’s cloths now however
Clare has a condition….if she gets the part she wants Imogen to humanize the
character.
Holly J is freaking out about how her family are all the
different blood type there is just something off about it. Fiona says she’ll
take a test and see if she’s a match because Holly J is like a sister to her.
Holly J says more of one then Heather ever was and it’s stated Heather is six
years older than Holly J….I did the math and this would of made Heather of
graduated from Degrassi at the end of SEASON 2 though clearly she’d been at the
school much longer though in the writers defense the timeline was
retconned. Holly J pulls out a family
album and turns to photos of Christmas 93, it would have been her first and yet
she’s not present in any of them….strange.
Eli’s auditioning and hasn’t found a girl who has met his
vision…enter Imogen who is wearing Clare’s dress that Clare wore at Vegas
Night.
It’s the fashion show and Katie and Adam walk the catwalk
together.
Holly J is still freaking out about how she doesn’t look
like anyone in her family and Fiona thinks she’s over reacting. Holly J she
liked being one of a kind and now she’s just scared. And if her theory is right
then her parents have been lying. Fiona said the bright side is there are two
more potential donors.
Eli is going through the scene with Imogen for her audition and
they start making out.
The show is over and Katie and Adam are talking about
celebrating its success and Adam tells her that he just wants to talk to
someone first. Katie nods and reminds him about their date to go to a book
signing with her. Adam goes to talk to Marisol who says Katie is a great girl
and it’s cute that you’re hanging out but pretty much says it’s not going to
work cause he lacks certain physical attributes…..um…sweetie…Katie was okay
with him being trans just cause you like hooking up doesn’t mean Katie’s a hoe
too.
Holly J confronts her mom who had planned on telling her
when she turned eighteen. There were complications when she had Heather and
couldn’t have any more children so they adopted Holly J when she was eleven
months old. She’s trying to track down the birth parents to be tested but that
they are always going to think of her as their little girl.
Adam wants Dave to look at his chest and asks him if his
‘breasts’ are really visible. Dave says yea they kind of are despite the
binding.
Holly J plans on tracking her parents down to see if they
can be donors. Being adopted changes nothing. She just hopes they are willing
to sacrifice a vital organ to a variable stranger if needed….TBC
Holly J’s mom’s dropping her off at school and Holly J has
news. She was able to track down her birth mom. Her name is Dawn and she lives
close. She left a message on her answering machine in the morning and she hopes
things go well. Her mom says to just be careful because she’s still a stranger.
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Adam’s tugging at his shirt commenting about how his shirt
is tight….all his shirts are tight. He brings up chest reconstruction and Audra
says that he’s fifteen and his body is still growing but she’ll talk to his councilor
and if she says its okay we can put the idea up for debate.
Holly J managed to get Dawn on the line and wants to ask her
something. Did she put a child up for adoption in 1994? That baby….it’s her.
And she wants to meet and they’ve set up a coffee date.
Dawes posts the rolls for the play and Imogen is Clara.
Imogen wraps her arms around him and tells him he doesn’t have to
pretend….she’s his leading lady on and off stage. Eli tells her no she’s
not….he isn’t emotionally ready to date….he’s just getting into a good place
after Clare and he doesn’t want to mess things up especially since he’s off
meds.
Katie and Adam come out of the signing and they are talking
about the signing. Katie says he wrote follow your dreams in her book and she
tells Adam how she told the author her dream of being a famous
journalist…..okay so if that’s your dream then how come your character arch in
the back end of the season is all about your dream to play on Team Canada
2016….I mean granted she could have two dreams but you’d think when she tore
her ACL and was advised not to take her try out she didn’t fall back onto her
writing instead of taking drugs to play through the pain and eventually become
an addict…granted then we wouldn’t of had a character arch and Katie would have
been relegated to a secondary character or worse shipped to the island of
missing characters better known as the Degrassi black hole or Bermuda triangle.
Adam declares he too wants to be a Journalist and he’s not saying it as a line
he really wants to be radio journalism major. He comments that they can go to
the same school together. He tells her that he likes her and there is going to
be big changes to him physically coming up before going to grab something to
eat.
Holly J and Fiona show up at the Dot to meet Dawn.
Imogen tells Clare thanks again…she got the part and the guy
and it’s all thanks to her. As a thank you gift, Imogen gives Clare a gift certificate
for dinner for two at Little Miss Steaks for her and Jake.
Dawn is telling Holly J her story about how she’d been in
school and had to decide what to do and it took her almost a year to decide to
put her up. Fiona tells her that Holly J is going to Yale in the fall and she’s
graduating soon and Fiona leads her on to bring up her medical case however she
can’t bring herself to ask her yet and ends up leaving to head to dialysis.
Adam meets with his councilor about wanting to go through
with this theory. Adam blurts how he needs to fix his chest to get with a girl
and binding isn’t working. The councilor tells him there are alternatives to
what he’s been doing which isn’t even the best way to begin with.
Holly J is sad that she choked on telling Dawn about her
condition. Fiona asks what’s more important….building a rapport first or
getting yourself healthy.
Adam’s checking himself out in his new compression vest.
Clare and Jake are at the steakhouse as Imogen meets Eli
there. Jake and Clare are talking about how they need to tell their parents
about their relationship and they kiss as Imogen and Eli show up in the room
they are in. Imogen is grabbing Eli’s hand and calling him muffin and Clare
rolls her eyes as clearly giving her the gift card was all an act. Eli pulls
away and says Imogen needs to stop with the pet names and walks off while Clare
shakes her head saying the real Clare Edwards wouldn’t do what Imogen did and
yet Imogen begs to differ saying that Clare takes what she wants.
Adam tells Katie he had fun and asks if she wants to hang
out and go to a movie. Katie apologizes saying that Adam’s signals are mixed
and she doesn’t like him in that way.
The Doctor has bad news and worse news….Fiona isn’t a match.
The worse news is that she’s reaching end stage kidney failure and should
consider deferring Yale.
Adam is glum and it’s all Katie’s fault. Dave tells him that
he’ll find a new girl in no time especially with his new look. Adam doesn’t
know if he’ll ever be ready for the Katie’s of the world….um Katie never
outright said she didn’t want to be more than friends do to him being *trans
just saying.
Holly J meets Dawn over her lunch break and breaks the news
about her medical issue and asks if she can be tested. She says she has two
kids to support and doesn’t know if she can. She then says she will at least
get tested and see what happens.
Imogen shows up in the theater to see Eli and he apologizes
for the steakhouse. She doesn’t need it and asks how he is. He says he’s fine
and she’s glad he’s in a good emotional place and rolls her eyes as Jake is now
working on sets. Eli says seeing Jake kissing Clare makes him realizes he’s not
over Clare at all and he asked Jake to work for them cause well…friends close,
enemies closer.
Holly J introduces Dawn to her mom.
Adam’s telling Dave he’s joining an FTM support group site.
Holly J is waiting for the results of Dawn’s test and she
calls saying that she is a match however she wants $20K for it.
