10x25/26 Don’t Let Me Get Me—RECAP

Like it was said at the end of the summer finale when the students come back after Christmas Break they won’t recognize the place which is true thanks in part to police patrols, metal detectors, oh and the instatement of school uniforms. Clare comments she looks like Barney The Dinosaur in her purple polo while Alli comments how she thought she’d be glad to be back in a uniform…a teasing remark once you remember season eight Clare wore her catholic school outfit for most of that season. Now I know allot of fans hated the uniforms which consisted of Kaki bottoms paired with polo’s color coordinated depending on grades so Yellow for freshman, Purple for Sophomores, Red for Juniors and Blue for Seniors.

Alli and Clare are playing who is to blame for this Clare and the whole Eli vs. Fitz war or Alli for her Boiler Room antics. They comment on the police and metal detectors and wonder if they’ll even be able to think freely at this new Degrassi.

Drew shows up and Clare comments how Alli didn’t expect he’d vanish. Alli comments she both missed him and wants to maim him and Drew pulls her aside asking if she thought of them getting back together. She did and doing it would be the worst mistake of her life. Drew claims Bianca was the one whoring herself out and seducing him and he loves her but it’s too little too late no second chances…one strike he’s out cause he let Bianca treat his body like his own personal amusement park.

WHATEVER IT TAKES (and there are some slight changes in the credits. The scene with Holly J and Leia has been removed and in its place is a scene adding Zane and Owen to the credits and the opening scene with Peter and Sav with the video camera has been changed and now it’s Sav and Holly J. All other scenes remain intact until next season when there is a totally new sequence)

Simpson announces how backpacks remain in lockers and that students have gotten notes sent home explaining things over break. Holly J and Sav apologize for what happened yet again…remember the whole Holly J going all ‘Gypsy Rose Lee’ Simpson says they are fortunate student council didn’t get the ax and that the duo need to make it up by being examples for the student body. The duo nod and make an announcement declaring the new rules. Dress code must be enforced at all times, student ID’s will be distributed and must be visible, Students can’t be in classrooms unattended and no PDA of any kind will be tolerated….and the following activities are expellable….violence, carrying a weapon, the sharing of sexual images…..Clare comments how it’s a police state as she hears the rules being read however Alli is surprisingly chill saying how she doesn’t have to worry about her parents seeing her alternate cloths and she has no boyfriend to hide. She wants to reinvent herself and channel her energy into something more positive like the science Olympics….. To be honest I love ‘Scholastic Alli’ more than ‘Boy crazed Alli’

Jenna is going through rehearsals for the music show. Jenna is talking to another girl saying how her whole school is voting for her and another girl is saying how her twitter feed has thousands of followers and growing thanks to her manager and her street team. Jenna is a bit taken aback even more so when one of the producers comments about doing a spot at Degrassi to showcase Jenna. The girl tells Jenna here’s a tip, winning the contest is not about singing it’s about image.

Adam, Wesley, and Dave are down because Science Olympics is one of the only clubs not scratched thanks to Vegas Night however the fourth member of the team is out with mono….enter Alli who is their savior. Seriously she’s brilliant. Adam comments how he thought she was too cool for an academic change and she comments she’s rebranding herself.

Jenna’s with the crew at Degrassi informing them they can’t go inside cause of the new policy.  She’s asked what it’s like and is asked about her family. Jenna says how her dad’s on the road but see the show at truck stops. The producer mentions how Hailey the girl razzing on Jenna earlier sang at a fundraiser for a brother with a serious illness and not to make another Gypsy reference so soon but Jenna’s told ‘you gotta have a gimmick if you wanna get applause’ She freezes up and gets Chantey to talk and the other girl says how peppy and happy Jenna is and the producer heard enough.

The team votes Alli as the Science Team captain and Adam comments hoe Drew was right Alli was awesome. He knows what happened in the boiler room…..about him and Bianca and how Drew spent the best part of two weeks crying over Alli.

It’s the results show for Teen Star and Jenna is named one of the bottom two. Annie the other girl has the hook of Epilepsy however with the closest vote ever Jenna lives to see another day. As the outro roles Haley whispers to Jenna she won’t last past the next elimination.

Alli’s telling Clare about what Adam said about Drew and how now she wants to maybe….possibly…give him another chance after all Clare wants to take Eli back after the Fitz thing. She’s about to tell Drew about her feelings when she’s called to the office and Simpson tells her she’s been asked to take part in a self-esteem seminar brought on by the sexual activities that happened at Vegas Night.  After the meeting Alli meets up with Drew saying he’s on probation. Drew asks if she wants to go out and she tells him maybe after the self-esteem seminar to which Drew has no clue about. A passing Bianca comments how the seminar is for ladies only and how nice it is that the love birds have patched things up. Alli wants to pounce however Drew tells her it’s not worth it.

Jenna asks to borrow KC’s hoodie to hide her bump and they are talking about the baby. KC asks her to please give him some time to tell his mom before she goes public.

Alli is talking to Clare about the seminar. Clare comments about how it’s a double standard that the guys just get a slap on the wrist while Alli’s more concerned about being lumped up with a skank like Bianca. Clare says to suck it up and it’s sure to blow over after the week is over. Chantey walks by and comments how she’s got Boiler Room Bhandari to thank for her hideous shirt.

Chantey is talking to Jenna about the show. Chantey tells Jenna she’s good singer but she’s a bit bland and how even the girl who got booted has a backstory and gossip sells.

Alli shows up to the science team and Conner and Wesley want to know if it’s true what she did in the boiler room…..she wants to clear her name.

Jenna picks up her phone and calls the producer to tell her she’s got a gimmick.

Alli, Bianca and about a dozen extras are in the seminar notably absent is Holly J even though she was caught having sex by the cops. Bianca is asked what she sees herself doing and it briefly brings up a spat between her and Alli. She finally admits to wanting to design jewelry before Alli laughs….. She just wants to get out of the seminar and the two girls continue to verbally attack one another. The leader tells them to take five and Alli notices Bianca’s bag is left vacant picking up Bianca’s phone, Alli finds a camera roll of naked selfies and she mass texts one to the entire school.

Jenna’s singing on that night’s episode of Next Star as KC and Lisa are watching the show from Little Miss Steaks. Lisa asks why they split up and KC says there was stuff….a situation they didn’t agree on how to handle.  Jenna’s done singing and the host gives her an interview and she says she’s with child. Lisa comments asking KC if it’s his and he says he guesses and his mom asks why she had to find out this way. KC says because he doesn’t want it……TBC

The following day Drew meets Alli in front of the school saying hi to his little science superstar as her dad is still in front of the school….Alli lies saying Drew’s an alternate and he plays along. Clare approaches saying what happened to no secret boyfriends and lies and Alli says how she’s giving Drew a second chance. Clare asks what about Bianca and Alli tells her about the stunt she pulled with the nudes. Clare comments how Bianca is going to plot Alli’s demise however with Drew back and her impending Olympic Victory against Bardell nobody can bring her down especially Bianca….

I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROGH….

Chantey tells Jenna she knew it and asks if the bun in her oven is KC’s and how balsy it was to say it on national TV. KC is upset how his mom had to find out about things at the Steakhouse. She tells KC how he didn’t want to be involved however KC says he didn’t want her pregnancy to be just a gimmick to give her an extra fifteen minutes of fame.

Bianca is called to the office as Alli walks into the science room. Conner, and Wesley are looking on their phones and see the e-mail of Bianca’s nudes Alli tells the boys to focus because they have to beat Bardell as Bianca pops her head into the room. Bardell isn’t the only thing getting beat and she just got suspended for those photos and she knows Alli sent them. Alli asks for proof and Bianca and her go into catfight mode. Simpson busts them up and the Bhandari’s are called and it’s the first time that the two of them have been hearing about the ‘Self Esteem’ seminar and of Alli dating. Simpson comments about making a note in Alli’s record and her dad insists on taking a look and they get a few more shocking revelations like the sexting and Alli’s clinic trip back in season nine.

Jenna’s in the library looking at the shows blog as Simpson comes in with a delivery of plushies from Jenna’s fans. Jenna then gets a text that KC wants to talk after school at the DOT.

Clare is informed by Alli she’s been suspended for the rest of the day which means the team has to forfeit. Also her parents now know EVERYTHING she’d been keeping secret and they are mortified and it’s all Bianca’s fault. Clare says everything in her file isn’t related to Bianca and perhaps being banned from seeing Drew will be a good thing.

Jenna shows up to meet KC and Lisa is with him. Lisa asks how she’s planning to support herself. Jenna says when she wins and gets a record deal she’ll be able to afford getting a nanny however KC and Lisa try to get her to face the harsh reality of what happens if she loses.

Alli’s mom wants her to open her diary because she’s fifteen with a file as thick as a phonebook so there are no more secrets. She tells her about Johnny and how they had sex and she thought she got an STI but it was a false alarm and they are disappointed. She comes downstairs and is listening to them fighting about her and her actions.

It’s time for the result show and Jenna’s being asked about the baby bomb she launched the night before however it’s time for the results after the break.

Alli’s looking at old photos and Sav informs her the parents have went to bed she asks how mad they are and Sav tells her on a scale of 1-10 about a 50. She comments how they think she’s dirty and Sav tells her they still love her.

The results are in and Jenna once again is in the bottom two and is eliminated from the competition. She’s crying backstage and the host wishes her luck and tells her maybe it’s time to swallow her pride.

Sav and Alli show up to Holly J and Sav informs her that he’s now Alli’s babysitter. They plant the seed in her head that Bianca really isn’t the one at total fault and it takes two to tango. Alli can’t believe that she wanted to give Drew a second chance and claims BOYS MAKE ME DO STUPID THINGS Seriously she needs that to be tattooed on her body someplace because that is pretty much the mantra of this character that keeps coming round and round and round….. Holly J says she has a choice however she can never seem to break the cycle for long.

Jenna meets with Lisa because she’s willing to break down and ask for help saying that perhaps adoption is the answer. Lisa tells her she’s not an idiot and Jenna still has time to make a choice but she’ll be there for Jenna to give her motherly advice since her mom is MIA.

Alli tells her parents they can be mad all the want but they don’t want them to stop loving her. She tells them boys seem to be the crux of her problem and so she wants to leave Degrassi and transfer to an all-girls school. Don’t worry, Alli isn’t leaving the show….heck she’s still around in the present season and is set for a meaty plotline in the next arch though surprise surprise it is guy related….Melinda was just taking a leave of absence cause she was shooting How To Be Indie parallel to Degrassi and left to work more on the other series.

Jenna gives KC back his sweater and he tells her to keep it. She says she’s talked to Lisa and KC heard. She says he doesn’t have to do anything but he hands her a baby name book that Lisa wanted her to have. KC tells her just don’t call him Kevin if it’s a boy cause it was his dad’s name….bad Karma.

Drew wants to walk Alli to class and she tells him she’s leaving Degrassi….her choice…she’s made allot of mistakes so far that year….him being the biggest. Clare tells her she’s a good and sweet person and they give one another a hug goodbye promising to stay best friends even though Alli’s going to school cross town.
