9x14 Start Me Up RECAP

Peter is running down the halls like crazy…..is he high again? No, he just got his acceptance to TU and he heads to tell the others. Danny was accepted to TU as well among others while Jane still is waiting to hear. Sav asks Peter if his dad is going to pay for it all and he shakes his head. The economy took its toll on his dad and while they will help he’s going to need to get a job. Jane asks if he’s ever done anything before and Peter comments how well he did have the band….

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Peter’s looking over his resume and asks Spinner if he’s hiring. Spinner says no but asks Peter if he could help bring some coffee beans down from the upstairs….wait…there is an upstairs at the Dot. Yea, it’s mostly for storage and naps during break however Peter sees it as an opportunity. Spinner’s commented how there is not that many places for bands to play and Peter says he could book acts, sell some virgin drinks and really have something. Spinner tells him to clean the place up and then he’ll propose the club idea to the boss. Peter nods and we get a montage of him cleaning.

Clare is reading a piece for Kwan who shakes her head. This is life writing and she needs to add more emotion. Alli says the reason that she’s not doing good is that she’s lived a sheltered life.

The boss looks upstairs. Peter comments saying he’d work for free for the first few weeks and then when they turn a profit then they can negotiate a salary. The boss comments that there can be no drinking or drugs and Peter nods saying this is an all age’s club focused on teens. He asks if Spinner can vouch and he says yes and the club is green lit.

Peter hijacks the announcements to announce the opening of Above the Dot.

Clare shows up in the music room to talk to Declan about helping the play. She asks what he was listening too and she says it’s some indie band he discovered in Italy and then starts to gush about the country. Declan apologizes for boring her but he’s not….in fact she’s starting to form a crush on him.

Peter runs into Fiona and Victoria, you know the one that gave him the meth. She apologizes for doing that and Fiona comments about how she’s two months clean and sober. Peter then invites the girls to Above the Dot.

Clare’s working on a new story and KC comes into the room. They haven’t talked since….and he wants to know if she’s okay. She tells him she had a life before him and she plans to have a life after him so he doesn’t need to worry about her.

Victoria asks why Peter’s not on stage and he tells her it’s one of the hazards from Meth, he got kicked out. Victoria comments asking if he thinks they’ll make it on black coffee and bottled water. Peter says they are banking on booking bands and she tells him there is a band that is doing a club tour that owes her one. She then comments she smells something and Peter catches a group smoking pot and he asks if they can put the drugs out because the club is clean. The druggie comments that him and his friends could leave but Peter says to just take it outside the main room. They end up making $18 profit once costs are taken into consideration and Peter tells them about Victoria’s band hook up. While they are talking an officer from the drug task force arrives saying he just busted kids saying they scored at the club. Peter says it’s not possible and the officer says it better not be, this is a warning and if it happens again he’ll shut them down. Spinner says they need to run a tighter ship because his job depends on it.

Clare tells a new story which isn’t a self essay but using Declan’s story to make her sound interesting.

Peter gets an e-mail from Victoria and he announces that the band is playing at the club…doors open at eight.

The lead singer calls over to Victoria asking if Peter is her boyfriend and she says just a friend….and she comments how the favor for them to play seems like a pretty good one to pull for just a friend. They go onstage and Victoria and Peter continue to banter and they kiss.

Alli and Clare are waiting to get in and Declan says hi and asks if Clare is a fan of the band. Clare says yea and talks about how she downloaded the album Declan had been listening too. Alli asks who they were and he says they are a band he discovered in Italy and as he and Clare talk Alli realizes her friend ripped off his ‘boring stories’ to tell Kwan. She pouts saying how she’s busted and she walks out of the line as Alli follows her out.

The club is hopping and Peter, Spinner, and Jane are celebrating their success as the band plays on. Jane heads to the ladies to see that Victoria has just engaged in a coke party for one. Jane comments about how she just saw Victoria walking out of her stall wiping her nose. Peter says she just has a cold but Spinner and Jane are like no, she’s already screwed with Peter once not again.

The following day Alli asks Clare why she’s trying to be someone else. Clare comments about how everyone seems to be growing up but her. Um sweetie as Alli soon points out you did go through you’re first break up so that’s some drama you could have talked about….. but don’t worry, next year as  Ten said to Rose when he was doing his farewell tour ‘You’re going to have a great year’ and by great year I mean you’re going to meet one Eli Goldsworthy….oh and you’re parents are going to divorce. Anyway she asks if they can go off campus for lunch because she doesn’t want to deal with Jenna in the café.

Another student having off campus lunch is Peter who meets Victoria at the Dot. He tells her how he never said goodbye and she comments about how it’s going to be THE party spot that summer. Peter nods and comments that speaking of party’s he’s in the mood to again. He knows she’s in NA but wants to know if she can do him a solid and hook him up. She admits she’s been cheating and gives him a bag of drugs saying that if her friends are looking to score he knows where to find her. He asks where, in Jail, Rehab, Dead and tells her to stay away from the club and him.

Clare and Alli are back from the mall and are in the girls wash room. Alli asks how whatever Clare’s doing is going to help and she comments how it’s different. The IT in question is a lace bra she bought….for her. Alli sees Clare’s real story she wrote about KC however she doesn’t want to read it…. Not because it’s bad but not finished. She needs to write the part where the girl gets the guy back.

Peter’s helping the band move their things back from the club and Peter comments how hopefully soon they’ll be able to afford and in house set up so there is minimal moving. The band comments how proud they are of what he did regarding Victoria and Jane tells them she had a new sign made for the drums. “Janie and the Studs: Featuring Peter Stone” Peter’s back in the band bitches.
