10x11/12 Try Honesty RECAP

Holly J is lying in bed having flashbacks of her time in New York with Declan before having an early morning Skype session with him. He tells her that it’s ‘go see’ week for his school and he plans on having a trip to Yale with his friends and wants Holly J to come. Holly J explains how she can’t just up and leave. Declan comments how he’ll try to just not have too much fun with all the single girls on the trip.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Mrs. Sinclair is asking Holly J about her job hunt and mentions how the new steak house and comments how that while Holly J wants to visit Declan if she wants to go to Yale with him she needs to get a job.

Wesley wants to hang out with Dave and Conner however they don’t have any plans…especially with girls. Dave’s tried and failed at getting the girl.

Eli pulls up to the school as Fitz and his boys are in his spot. Eli asks them to move and Fitz instead goes and pulls the hood ornament off of Eli’s car. THIS IS WAR!!

Sav announces signups for a band slam and Wesley suggests that the two of them and Dave start a band together.

Holly J is working out a word problem while Fiona is out buying a bird cage for her apartment. Hey it’s antique.  She tells Holly J one day when she’s married to Declan and has popped out a few children then she won’t have to worry about money either. She asks Holly J if she wants to shop but Holly J has a job interview.

Eli tells Clare about Fitz as he walks passed and starts harassing Eli and Adam. Eli refuses to be the victim of this and plans to fight back.

Wesley signs up the ‘Three Tenner’s up for the band slam without Dave knowing. Sav asks what they play and they have no clue the genre. They say they want to start a band to get chicks.

Holly J goes for her interview and is told how she reminds him of his wife, she started out as a server and now she’s a co-manager. Holly J doesn’t want to think about this and so she calls Fiona and they go shopping. Fiona goes to get changed and Holly J goes to check Declan’s profile. There are photos of him and Tinsley and Holly J asks Fiona who she is. Fiona tells her that it’s the slut who was with Bobby and while she’s going on the trip Holly J shouldn’t be worried cause Declan would never cheat….at least not on her. Holly J shakes her head and is determined to go on the trip. Later that day or the following one she’s in her room looking at her haul. Her mom sees it and asks if she needs to take back her card again and Holly J says she’s returning things. Her mom tells her that it’s less things to pack and speaking of packing the movers are coming that weekend.

Eli approaches Clare saying he’s thought about what she’d said about ignoring Fitz but that’s just not his speed. Clare comments about how she didn’t think violence was his style and that he’s obsessed with death and Eli comments to let people think what they want and anyway it’s not about the violence it’s about the Fitz getting what he deserves. Fitz continues to torture him and Eli comments how all he wants is an apology about the hood ornament and he’s good. Fitz does apologize, about Eli’s nuts and he proceeds to kick him in them.

Holly J turns down the job because she can’t start the weekend and not cause of the move but because she’s going on the Yale trip. Declan doesn’t want her to come on the trip now and as they are talking Tinsley is in the shot (they are in fencing together) Holly J thinks he’s so cheating on her.

Wesley and Conner tell Dave about the band and tell him how band = cred = girls. The plan is that Wesley plays flute, Conner does mixing and plays tambourine and Dave is going to sing and yet Dave is tone deaf which is the basis of this whole darn sub plot. That said either Jamali French was playing tone deaf for the episode and can really sing or he (and the character of Dave regardless of the sinario) got massive voice lessons in season twelve cause the whole main Dave plot in ‘Showdown’ pretty much banked on how GREAT a singer he was.

Mrs. Sinclair comments how quiet Holly J’s being in the car but she just doesn’t want to talk about it. She says she feels so stupid and Declan is cheating on her. He’s not perfect but she never thought he’d do it. Her mom says she’s better off and Holly J says screw the Ivy League she was aiming too high. Her mom asks if she still wants to go to Yale or if she only wanted to go for a guy.

Eli tells Adam about what Fitz did to him when he tried to talk to him. Eli then goes over toward Fitz offering him a peace treaty. Eli shows him his fake ID and Fitz asks if Eli can buy him smokes however Eli can do one better and offers to give Fitz an ID.

Holly J tells Fiona over the phone that no matter what happens between her and Declan she’s glad they are friends and they plan to meet for coffee the next day. Holly J gets Declan’s machine and leaves a break up message.

Eli and Adam are looking at a site of Canada’s most wanted and they make a fake ID with Fitz’s photo and the stats of a known criminal. Nobody pisses off Eli Goldsworthy and gets away with it.

Holly J shows up at the Dot and asks Peter where Fiona is. Peter shrugs as Declan turns around on a bar stool saying she can’t make it. Clearly he never got her call from the night before…..TBC

Declan tells Holly J that the reason he told her not to go to him was because he’d planned to blow off the trip to come visit Holly J instead and he wanted to surprise her. She’s surprised all right and tells him about how when he’d told her not to fly out her mind jumped to conclusions and she kind of left him a mean break up voice mail. Declan is intrigued and calls to listen to it. He laughs at it saying its ‘classic’ and she apologizes guessing her mind just ran wild and they kiss and say how much they miss one another.

I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH

Holly J and Declan are driving around and Declan is listing everything he misses and he comments how it’s 200 days until graduation. I didn’t mention this before but Try Honesty part two is the two-hundredth episode (yea can you believe I’ve been doing 200 of these already and as I’m typing this out there have been 325 episodes with AT LEAST 32 episodes left to air….more if it gets picked up for a whapping FOURTEENTH season!!! Holly J comments how her mom would have killed her if she really did fly out and Declan asks just how bad the situation is. Holly J says it’s worse then she thought. Declan offers to help her out so she doesn’t need to get a job, that way she can focus on her grades and SAT’s.

Dave thinks the band is going to ROCK however Wesley and Conner don’t want to tell him he sucks. During a lecture on artificial limbs however Wesley gets the brain blast to auto tune.

Holly J thanks Fiona for keeping Declan’s visit a secret however when he’d told her he didn’t want to see her she actually thought she meant it. Fiona apologizes saying she was the pawn and Holly J says no worries she’s 200% excited not just because Declan is in town but because he’s making things so she doesn’t have to get a job. This is the first Fiona’s heard and she asks how. Holly J says how he’s helping her out financially and Fiona comments how she tried to do that and Holly J accused her of paying for her friendship. Holly J says that she fully intends to pay Declan back in the future.

Eli gives Fitz the fake ID and Adam asks Eli what they do until Fitz gets caught.

The Tenner’s have a recording session with Sav and Sav is just rolling his eyes at Dave’s tone deaf ness.

Eli tells Clare how he’s got a master plan in motion and Fitz won’t know what hit him. Clare is worried that Eli is doing something wrong and she goes to ask Adam about it. Adam comments how it’s best she stays out of it because the less she knows the better.

They playback the auto-tuned version for Dave and he asks why they did it. They admit his voice sucks.

Mrs. Sinclair comments that she told Holly J no shopping but it’s a gift from Declan.  Her mom comments saying how she thought they broke up because he was cheating and Holly J says how it was a misunderstanding. Her mom then asks if she thought of their talk and Holly J says who says I’m motivated either by myself or by Declan why can’t I be motivated by both. Her mom nods and asks if she called back the restaurant to see if she could still have the job. She has better things to do then serve peoples food and comments about how Declan is planning on helping her with things. Her mom is sick of Declan this and Declan that and informs her that all things come with a price and that it doesn’t change that they are moving on Sunday.

Chantey comments on Holly J’s necklace and says must be nice to have a sugar daddy and calls Holly J a gold digger. Holly J asks Fiona if she wants to meet for lunch and Fiona says that she has to meet with her decorator. Chantey rolls her eyes.

Eli calls in a 9-1-1 tip saying there is a fight going on outside of the convenience store. He then see’s Fitz leaving said store with a pack of smoke and begins to engage in a scuffle.

Declan shows up to join Holly J and the girls for lunch after all he’s only in Toronto to be with her, not to check up on I don’t know, his sister or anything. Chantey comments how he’s getting the raw end of the deal with half a Tuna sandwich while Holly J gets a diamond and he comments how Holly J can go to New Haven with him over the weekend and call it an even trade. She can’t. But he’s booked the flight and the hotel room. But her SAT is on Saturday and the move was on Sunday. He tells her she can reschedule the test and he can pay for a moving company to help her parents in her absence. How much does he have to pay her for her to do what he wants…..WOW….yea….this ship just went from fairytale romance to a nightmare in no time. Declan May not be physically abusive but he sure is emotionally. Holly J tells him to go home and she’ll call him later.

Fitz is giving Eli the royal smack down as the cops arrive. Both boys are pinned to the wall and Fitz comments how it sucks to be Eli because he’s got the fake ID so nobody would know him.

Sav asks Dave where the others are and he tells him they are at Conner’s playing on the X Box but he doesn’t want to hang with them. Sav plays him the song and says it sounds cool. Sav says how he was in a band and it was the best time of his life but then they all graduated and moved away. He tells Dave how the other boys started the Three Tenner’s because Dave was in a funk and they wanted to perk him up.

Eli’s free to go however Fitz needs to go to the station because there are things they need to discuss. As Fitz rides away Eli all bloodied lips is pleased that he extracted his revenge.

The college councilor is talking about Financial Aid and Loans and Fiona whispers to Holly J how it makes her wonder why people like THEM even go to college that between her and her trust fund and Holly J with Declan they are kept women.

Clare asks Eli where he was and Eli says conflict resolution and how it was just a fist fight and that Eli put the name of a felon on Fitz’s fake ID. Eli comments how worst case sinario Fitz gets busted for a fake ID. He comes back to school and it seems that the war between the two boys is only just about to heat up much to Clare’s dismay.

Declan tells Holly J about plans for the weekend and she tells him that she’s not going and that she just can’t take his money. She’s her own person and while she loves him she doesn’t need him running her life and perhaps they should go on a break. She gives him the necklace back as they head in the cab back to her house.

Wesley and Conner are talking about what to do because Dave hates them however Dave plays the track over the speaker of the Dot. The Tenner’s are BACK.

Holly J gets the job at Little Miss Steaks and already has a customer requesting her….Fiona. She’s proud that Holly J declared her independence even though it was at the cost of her brother’s happiness.
