Jane is trying out for the football team and Darcy and
Spinner are showing their support. There
is some trash talk because Jane is much better then Derek on the field. Jane
asks if she’s in but Shep has to get it green lit by the board as to if a girl
can play on a boy’s team.
WHAREVER IT TAKES
Jane’s called to the office and she’s the new wide receiver.
Riley and Derek question this and hope it’s a joke while Darcy wishes she’d be
at school to see it cause she’s leaving the following day for a semester in
Kenya (though that would mean she’d of been back come season nine but since
90210 got renewed she never came back and even now that it’s canceled she’s
moved on to bigger and better things so don’t expect Darcy to be back to meet
her step brother or to help out her ailing sister any time soon…..also must
suck for Peter who had to you know….emancipate himself just to stay in Toronto
to BE with Darcy…..though he doesn’t know about this trip…..yet) Darcy tells
Jane that he’s just so excited about his new place and the party he’s
throwing.
Shep comments about the school having no football trophies
(um yea cause this is the first year of the program dumbass) and that why doesn’t
Jane try out for a girls sport (cause he cut funds though I’d assume they come
back soon cause Katie is enrolled as a tenner at Degrassi off screen at present
she’d be playing soccer at some point (if not we know she’s there at the start
of the year cause she was around at the school during VEGAS NIGHT even though
she doesn’t show up on cannon till another year after and I’m rambling and
getting way ahead of myself) Jane tells him she played rugby at Lakehurst and
it was the same thing only no padding. He tells her fine but you’re one of the
guys no special treatments.
Holly J comments saying playing with the guys but dressing
with the girls it’s a telltale sign of a budding lesbian (bitch), Anya is just
glad she’s not in the locker room ogling Sav while Mia hopes she can put her
rugby skills to use and school the boys. Holly J comments about how she should
be bigger on top and she goes to the boy’s locker room asking for her pads and
the boys laugh and toss her Maxi pads saying there is going to be allot of
heavy bleeding.
Peter is excited about the party and Darcy drops the bomb
that she’s going to go build a school in Kenya. She didn’t want to tell him
sooner because she knew it would hurt him and it’ll only be a semester. He brings
up the fact that he left his mom for her and he has no one and he’s generally
pissed.
At the first football game the team is being announced and
it’s so cute with Alli, Clare, and Spinner on the sideline and Alli asking
Spinner what all the positions mean. When Jane is announced no one cheers
except Spinner. Derek misses blocking Jane out of spite and they lose. At the
after party Clare thanks Peter for inviting her and Alli and says that Darcy
wishes she could have came. Mia approaches Peter and tells him she knows what
it’s like to be left alone. He just wishes she’d walk through the door and
apologize or whatever. Mia just wishes Danny would talk to her. They end up
slipping out and going for a walk and another move in the musical couple’s game
is so about to be made.
Spinner drops Jane off and he tells her she’s a great
player. The team doesn’t think so as Riley and Danny are wearing shirts saying ‘Sorry
I Missed the Ball its My Time of The Month’ the whole team is wearing them
including Danny who Jane would of thought would know better. He just thought it
was funny but it wasn’t it was sexist and soon Riley and Derek strip down taking
it off. Holly J doesn’t know what’s more disturbing the shirt or Derek
shirtless. Mia comments how they have a great player in Jane and shouldn’t
treat her like crap.
Sav asks Peter how far did he get…..and Danny asks why they
are talking about. Peter says he kind of hooked up with Mia and Danny comments
it’s like trading in a porche for a bus pass. Mia thanks him for the last night
and she thought they connected. He apologizes and she asks if she was the
rebound. He tells her it’s complicated and she tells him she felt something.
At practice, Jane shows Shep the shirts and he tells the
team they got a talking to and then after Simpson interjects they get extra
running at practice…..everyone. After the practice Danny takes it out on Jane
and Derek, Riley, and Bruce end up jumping her. She goes to tell Shep who says
it’s just a scuffle between teammates and boys will be boys before reminding
her he said no special treatment.
Jane shows up at the Dot telling Spinner she is okay before
telling him about what the boys did. He tells her he’s going to kill Derek
however she wants to fight her battles. He asks what about Danny or Sav. Danny passively
watched and the coach is an ass. Spinner asks if playing football is worth the
abuse.
Peter corners Mia who is heading to the office. It was because
he called her there. She’s not a rebound and he agrees they connected and
should hang out again….take it slow….no pressure. They then set a lunch date.
Darcy sent gifts via air-mail from the airport and Clare and
Alli tell Jane they are getting a group of girls together to cheer her on. Jane
tells them that she’s thinking about quitting but she says that she is their
hero.
Peter is with Mia when Clare delivers a gift from Darcy to
which he chucks. Mia asks to walk her to class but he tells her he needs to
meet with Sav….he instead fishes out Darcy’s gift and opens it.
Shep is giving a pre-game talk in the boy’s room and Jane
shows up. He tells her that she’s not supposed to be here but she tells him she’s
part of the team. Shep says that the way things are going it may not be for
long. Danny stands up for her then Sav then Riley ends up turning around and
vouching for her before they all stand up and the talk begins again….
