7x18 Another Brick In The Wall recap

Damian is over at the house in secret with Emma while she’s babysitting Jack. Simpson and Christine come home early since the waiter made him paranoid. He gets a call and it was the lawyer. He announces who has two thumbs and is no longer a pedophile….THIS GUY

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Simpson is back at school and is overwhelmed by it. Lucas and Johnny make snide comments and Simpson wonders if it was a good idea to come back to Degrassi telling Emma to go to class and he’s going to talk to Miss H.

In Math Class Holly J isn’t doing so good. She doesn’t look at her bad marks and instead wants to know what’s going on socially. Anya has plans with Sav and Mia has plans with Lucas….they talk about doubling cause now apparently Anya isn’t being passive aggressive to Mia and they are besties. Anya tells her even though she’s single she can come but Holly J is going to pass.

Emma sees Darcy in the girl’s room and wants to talk. Darcy apologizes for the false accusation cause she panicd. Emma tells her that he’s reinstated though people don’t seem to want him back and she needs Darcy’s help and so they make him a welcome back card and try to ask people to sign. Lucas and Mia don’t want to sign cause of what he allegedly did.

Liberty and Toby are closing off a student council meeting and Liberty comments wondering who her successor will be. Toby remarks what about Holly J (who actually does). Holly J then goes into the room wanting to talk to Toby. She needs Math help and Heather told her he’s the best tutor…among other things and she’ll pay cash. He doesn’t want money but he does want a favor.

Simpson and Christine are having a fight and she’s telling him to suck it up and then she suggests that maybe something did happen as it’s not like he hasn’t been unfaithful before and it would explain him not wanting to go back.

Toby is helping Holly J and they make some small talk. He brings up what he wants her to do for him….it involves playing Dance Dance Revolution.

Emma shows Simpson the card and asks if things are that bad between him and her mom and if she should be worried. He tells her he’ll go to work tomorrow and things can get better. And they still have the dog at the moment and he’s adorable. Simpson comes back the next day. It’s called sucking it up.

Holly J is watching him dance because he needs someone to vouch for him for his PE credit and if he doesn’t do it he’ll flunk the class. As they are together talking Anya and Chantey and other girls wait in the doorway. They ask if she’s coming to class and she turns back into a mean girl.

Simpson is giving a lecture and Lucas asks if he’s ever googled his name before and that there as a webpage dedicated to him….being a perv. Simpson tells him to go to Miss H however she’s already in the hall. He walks out and she asks if he’s okay. Simpson comments that there was a student not on his roll sheet and Miss H says she withdrew from the school. People don’t know the real story and Miss H hopes things won’t get to him.

Holly J asks him how his PE test went and he is shocked that she’s talking to him. He tells her if she drops the bitch act maybe people would like her and there are inklings of UST going on. I think if Toby wasn’t about to graduate and be written off this could have been an interesting love/hate relationship though I do have a soft spot for the ‘Beauty and the Geek’ trope.

Simpson is making a commotion and he tells Emma the HTML doesn’t lie and he spends the night looking at the webpage. He doesn’t come back the next day and Mr. P is covering the class.

Holly J’s grade is up and Anya comments how if she keeps things up she’s the Toby of their class. No I shouldn’t say that he’s disgusting. Holly J says no he’s geek chic and they may like him now.

Emma comes home to see Simpson watching monster trucks and drinking. Emma calls him a coward. Christine comes home and tells him he’s a quitter and the kids shouldn’t see him this way and she plans to take the kids to her mothers.

Holly J tells Toby thanks for tutoring and admits to him that she likes him. As honored as he’d be to have her as his girlfriend he doesn’t like her attitude. She had a shot but she’d blown it in the classroom when she turned on him.

Emma asks Simpson if he’s going to try to come back. He can’t…not yet and he’s planning to talk to a councilor from the school board. Christine asks Emma why she isn’t packed yet and she tells her that she’s staying at the house with Simpson and her mom should too. She can’t and she leaves with Jack.
