6x11 Rock This Town

This episode I’ve been dreading getting to since I started this season. I knew it was coming and still it hit me with all the emotions it had when I first watched.  I just want to note that this episode has a MAJOR character death and if you are going into my recaps blindly I won’t spoil it.

Manny is aggressively ripping up photos of Craig from her locker. She dumped him and is happy though she doesn’t look happy and admits she’s going crazy. Emma tells her the house is going to be empty all weekend and Manny suggests they have a party…..Why? What’s there to celebrate Emma asks and JT soon informs the girls it’s Liberty’s Birthday…..BINGO!!

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Liberty is in the lab sending out e-mails for a Degrassi/Lakehurst unity summit happening during lunch period when Manny walks in. She informs the other girl they are having a birthday party for her and Manny even plans to help the other girl get a new man in her life. Liberty agrees but only if Manny goes to a summit as it’s a proven fact the male population will double with Manny Santos in attendance.

At the Summit Lakehurst’s president Damian and VP Nora are introduced and Damian asks for ideas. Manny suggests a pep rally and dance. Damian is impressed and short lists it. He’s not the only impressed one and she totally thinks he’d be perfect for Liberty inviting him to the party.

Liberty tells JT he missed the summit and JT says he didn’t want to get further involved with Lakehurst. He can’t wait for the party which he soon informs her he was the one who told Manny it was her birthday in the first place and Liberty admits he’s matured and Mia is a lucky girl.

Simpson and Christine head off on their weekend and Toby is excited about the party inviting Nora on the school steps.  Emma rolls her eyes because she hoped it would be a simple end at nine so I can lose my virginity to Sean kind of affair but is fine because she can always slip upstairs so long as Manny doesn’t let it go too crazy. Danny and Derek hear Toby talking and soon word spreads…so much for not being crazy.

Manny fixes Liberty’s hair and makeup and she looks hot. Downstairs Emma is making smoothies spiking hers with booze for some liquid courage. Soon the graduates, Jay’s crew, even Lakehurst students show up at the bash. Manny tells the latter they can stay so long as they don’t cause any drama. She then leaves Liberty and Damian to get acquainted. Around the party Toby and Nora are making out and Emma is getting pretty sloshed. Manny takes the booze from Emma and goes to hide it in baby Jack’s room when Damian shows up and in not so many words tells her he doesn’t like Liberty but likes her instead.

JT asks Liberty where her date is and she says it wasn’t meant to be. They wax nostalgic and she soon admits she still loves him. Speechless he walks off but Liberty follows wanting him to say something. He’s confused….he dating Mia….he loves Mia…..

Emma and Sean are alone in her room prepping for sexy time however Emma pukes.

Ellie apologizes for the bad blood between her and Manny due to Craig.

Johnny and Drake the Lakehurst guys give Derek a beer as a peace offering however the can explodes and they crack up causing Spinner and Jay to kick them out.

Nora peels herself off Toby’s lips to take a pee break and JT brings up that food analogy I told you guys to remember. He tells his friend he has a meatball sub and it’s yummy but he’s craving oatmeal. Toby gets what he’s saying and tells him to go out and tell Liberty. JT nods going to his car only to see Johnny pissing on it. He comments about them thinking his car is a toilet however Drake doesn’t think he’ll be laughing any longer as while JT puts the keys in his door Drake knifes him in the back. The boys run as he slumps to the ground and Liberty finds him and calls for help. Later at the hospital we find out he didn’t make it.

RIP JT Yorke…..Also it is important to note this episode unlike the rest didn’t have outro music over the production credits.
