The Episode opens as JT’s funeral has just ended and it’s
informed that Drake (and maybe Johnny too though he becomes a character as of
next season) are in jail. Emma and Manny ask how Liberty is and she walks off.
She tells Toby how people are expecting her to be breaking down like Mia
however she can’t. They talk about how JT wouldn’t want a stuffy service like
what they just sat through to be it for him and plan a celebration of his life
at Degrassi.
WHATEVER IT TAKES (also like to note out that Ryan is still
in the opening and not cut like certain other actors were when they were
written off/killed off in season twelve)
After the funeral back at Degrassi a grief counselor is
there to talk to the students. Mia approaches Toby as he was the last one to
see JT alive and asks what his last words were. Toby tells Mia they were
talking about how he wanted oatmeal. Mia nods and walks off as Manny approaches
and soon Toby admits Oatmeal was code for Liberty. She asks if Toby is going to
tell Liberty what was said and Toby admits he wants to wait till the time is
right.
Ashley and Ellie are mulling about the tragedy however it
soon turns into a talk about Ellie and how she’d kissed Craig and doesn’t know
how to tell Jesse this.
Toby tells Liberty that they can grieve for JT together and
they soon go to clean his locker out. Mia shows up handing Toby a tape of JT
playing with Isabella demanding it be played at the memorial before tossing
everything into her bag wanting to get things over with. She’s bitter because
she’s his girlfriend and didn’t say goodbye. She thinks Liberty doesn’t care
since she’s not crying.
Toby tells Liberty Mia’s sorry and the two head off to play hooky.
Jesse gives Ellie romantic coupons and tells her he loves
her however instead of telling him this back she tells him about Craig. He isn’t
upset and instead admits he did something with a random girl at the bar the
other night.
Toby’s Bubbies’ car breaks down and Toby curses it out and Liberty
laughs….soon they share a moment and make out.Hey it could have been worse…this
could be a soap and they could be having hot grief sex right now.
The next day Danny thanks Toby for being there for his
sister before saying how he hopes nothing is going on or else he’ll have to
choke a dude. Toby then tells Manny about the kiss and Manny tells him it’s not
cool and he should take it back
Ellie wants to quit over the random hook up. Jesse asks if
she still loves him and she heads to Degrassi.
Toby wants to take back the kiss and Liberty asks why….cause
she likes him and he likes her and she kisses him a second time.
Ellie interviews Jimmy and has a moment of clarity.
JT’s memorial happens and Simpson begins to talk as a slideshow
begins to play. Backstage Mia fights with Toby about Liberty having the final
say when JT didn’t like her and thought she was a cyborg. Toby shakes his head
telling Mia that the conversation about oatmeal he told her about was about
Liberty really. Liberty tells Mia she can play her tape then tells Toby how she
can’t believe he didn’t tell her that JT loved her. As the video of JT/Isabella
plays Liberty finally breaks.
Ellie goes back to the office and Jessie wanting to cash in
on the pizza coupon she dug from the trash.
