The episode opens as Paige, Marco, Ellie, and Alex are
studying for finals. Dylan is brought up and Marco tells them he’s so over him
and so they bring up Tim who has been following Marco like a lost puppy. Speak
of the devil Tim shows up and wants to study and guess what other devil shows
up….Dylan who is back in town and there to pick Paige up. Marco introduces his
ex to new boyfriend Tim….AWKWARD
WHATEVER IT TAKES
The new science teacher hands out exams to the seniors.
Liberty is quizzing Danny and Derek for an exam.
Paige tells the other seniors that they need to have a study
break so they don’t snap under the study pressures and suggests they go hang
out at some gay bar. She asks Marco if he’s going to invite Tim however Marco
is on the fence. He likes Tim allot but doesn’t know if he should make him the
rebound since it would be Tim’s first relationship. Plus he’s going away next
year and Marco doesn’t want to put him through what Dylan did to him.
Liberty comes home and her parents want to talk. The
adoptive parents are moving to Seattle despite having an open adoption with
Liberty. They want to know if Liberty wants her to come and say goodbye.
Liberty says how she said goodbye when she gave him up.
The group is waiting for the gay bar.
Liberty, Danny, and Derek are studying when the doorbell
rings and Danny goes to get it. Derek wants to ask a personal question about
the baby. Did she ever consider keeping him? Was it hard to let go? He didn’t
mean to be mean about it he was adopted and was just curious. Liberty kicks him
out.
At the bar Marco tells Tim that he hears he’s an Oscar buff
and asks him to quiz him about past winners. He soon sees Dylan and excuses
himself to go talk. Dylan admits to Marco he misses him and that he made a
mistake. Marco says he did….coming to the bar knowing that he had a new
boyfriend. Tim approaches and Marco kisses him in front of Dylan.
The following day Ellie and Marco are quizzing one another
for English and Marco is comparing the book to his love life. Marco gets an
e-mail on his phone from Dylan prompting Marco to go to his place to tell him
to stop. Dylan tells Marco he’s home for the summer because he’s still in love
with Marco. Marco wants Dylan to just leave him alone.
JT comments about how he hardly finished his science exam
and can’t believe Liberty finished so fast. Liberty tells him he didn’t do
anything and hands in a blank paper.
Tim gives Marco a four leaf clover in a blue Tiffanies box
saying he knows that there is only one more exam however good luck never goes
out of style.
With exams done Paige plans a Ryan Reynolds movie marathon….she
even tells Marco to bring Tim along….Dylan will be gone at Hockey practice.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Zandt reprimand Liberty about bombing her
test. Danny appreciates Liberty being the bad child for once distracting the
parents as he has porn he wants to watch instead of studying. Liberty embraces
her rebellious streak and starts to drink.
Marco and Tim show up and Dylan is still around with his
buddies conveniently taking off his shirt as Marco walks in. Dylan invites
Marco and Tim to blow off the movies and play some poker with him now that
practice is off. He calls Marco a chicken and Marco cracks.
Liberty continues to drink and Derek tries to take the
bottle from her causing her to swing her hand and crack a mirror. Danny asks
what’s wrong and Liberty tells them her baby is gone and she’s never going to
see him again. Derek tells Liberty how his birth mom left her a letter….and a
treasure chest of sorts letting him know he was loved.
The boys are playing cards.
Dylan tells Marco to go date Tim….date a bunch of guys but it will
always come back to them in the end. After the game Tim tells Marco Dylan is
crazy for what he’s saying. Marco tells Tim that he’s a good guy and has made
allot of progress. Marco admits to Dylan that he wanted to move on from Dylan
and felt allot of parallels between Tim and how he used to be….Tim calls Marco
out for using him and tells Marco to go back to Dylan cause they are perfect
for each other.
Liberty and Danny are both grounded for a month for what
they did and now Liberty is making a care package for her son letting him know
that he’s loved.
Dylan tells Marco that he wants another chance and they
kiss.
