5x11/12 Lexicon of Love--recap

It’s time for the Jay and Silent Bob go Degrassi Eh premiere and Jay approaches Alex with a ticket to the big party. Alex tells him thanks but no thanks and she’s going with Paige. She doesn’t need jerks like him in her life.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Craig, Manny, Paige, and Hazel are watching Kevin give an interview outside the school. Craig comments how they plan on going to the premiere in style. Alex hears this and she’s excited as she’s never been in a limo before causing the group to look at her confused. Paige tells her she’s sorry but she’s taking Hazel who is still heartbroken over Jimmy and Hazel comments how she doesn’t want Alex there cause she wants the limo to be a ‘no skank zone’ Paige is pissed that her friend is being called a skank telling the others she’ll just cab it and tells Alex that she’ll try and score an additional ticket for her.

Peter and Emma are in a relationship now and are sneaking around. Peter asks his secret girlfriend if she wants to go to the premiere but she’s already got a hot date….with her step dad that is. She then warns him Manny was in the film so she’ll be there so they have to be really careful.

Paige goes to Kevin asking for another ticket. He says yes but first Paige has to say aboot to him because he has a thing for Canadian accents. He then jokes that if he finds the ticket on EBay he’ll have to cut Paige from the sequel too…..too as in she’s cut from this movie…..mortified she gives Alex the new ticket as well as hers saying she’d going to sit the premiere out cause she was cut. Alex tells her screw Kevin….they are going to go to the show and they are going to be hot making him regret his choice.

Flash to the red carpet and then the premiere itself with everyone heading into the theater. We get clips of the movie from Going Down the Road and soon it’s time for the party. Paige wants to leave but Alex coaxes her to stick around. The party is lame however the REAL party is beyond the velvet rope. Toby and Liberty try to get in but are bounced. Jimmy complements Ellie about her five lines and Peter begins to spike the punch but Emma stops him saying they will meet up in a few minutes back in the theater. Craig and Manny soon arrive and Emma makes a toast with them however counting down the moments for her meeting.

Paige tries to get into the VIP party saying she did hair on the movie when Alex shows up wrapping her arms around Paige apologizing for being late because she was blocked in at the strip club and kisses Paige on the cheek. Her comment I find amusing as guess who actually does end up stripping later on? Paige plays along hoping Alex isn’t tired after being promised some hot dancing and they are let in. Jay is also at the party as his got tight with the security guard during the movie. Alex says he’s not getting her back after hooking up with every skank at the ravine and Jay comments about her hooking up with every skank there….Alex and Paige dance.

Emma and Peter meet up for their secret tryst however they hear someone else also in the theater with the same idea. The people are Peter’s mom Miss H and Emma’s step dad Mr. Simpson……I don’t know if you remember that comment back in season two or three about her not going for married men….well…guess she does.

Paige and Alex are grinding on the dance floor and stealing the show from everyone including Kevin and Jason.

Emma wants to go into the theater and say something….stop her step dad from doing the wrong thing. Peter tells her no and she heads home.

Jay tells Alex he’d love to watch their little lesbian thing and wonders why she wasn’t adventurous when they were dating. Paige arrives and Alex tells them that they are going to leave. They stop by Alex’s place to grab some shoes and Alex’s mom wants the girls to stay….Alex doesn’t want to but Paige insists.

Emma’s making tea and crying when Simpson comes home. She calls him out on him kissing Miss H promising to keep it a secret from her mom.

Alex’s mom went to bed and Paige tells Alex she was nice. Alex tells Paige she is her lucky charm and they talk about how nice a night they had. Alex asks about when they were dancing on the floor and what it meant. The sounds of fighting ring out and they walk in on Alex’s mom and boyfriend fighting….Alex gets hit in the crossfire and they head to Paige’s. Alex likes the quiet of the room and Paige tells her nobody should have to deal with that drama.  The two share an unexpected kiss and Paige freaks saying she’ll sleep on the couch and Alex can take her room…..to be continued.

Alex asks who made the day so bright and Paige says it’s the same people who make school days the same as days after premieres. There is a clear awkwardness as the elephant of the kiss fills the room. It’s like Paige woke up in a bad movie with subtitles and can’t deal with this…Alex…now.

I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH

Hazel asks Paige what happened the night before as she went to the VIP party and went rogue. Hazel asks if she’s met someone and she denies it. Hazel takes it as a yes and asks who. Darcy arrives asking if Paige has the new cheer for the ‘Thank You Kevin’ pep rally mapped out.

Emma is in her mom’s car and Christine asks if Emma has something to tell her. Emma criticizes Simpson’s bike not believing he kept it. Getting out of the car she can’t look her dad in the eye because he is having an affair. Simpson says it’s not an affair it was just a kiss. Miss H tells her good morning in the hall and Emma tells her not to talk to her. Miss H and Simpson just look at another to say ‘she knows’.

Paige has a question for Marco….has he thought about girls. And tells him that she’s been thinking about a girl. Marco asks if it was Heather Sinclair (#20) and Paige says no. Alex enters the room sitting on the other side and he puts two and two together. Paige admits they kissed. Alex IM’s Paige asking if they could have lunch. Paige has practice then but tells her she’ll meet during free period. As Alex waits Jay approaches holding a paper bag with Paige’s missing shoes. Jay wants to know what she has that he doesn’t. Paige asks if she was interrupting ‘Fun Time with Jay’ Alex says she’d rather have ‘Fun Time With Paige’. Paige doesn’t know what’s what…. Is she a lesbian? She’s not even supposed to like people like Alex…people who were navy and black together. Alex says she’s never thought she’d befriend prep but they do like one another and balance each other out and they kiss again. Jay sees through the bushes and approaches Hazel telling her Paige is gay for Alex. He tells her she needs to do something about it.

At Spirit Squad practice Hazel confronts Paige about what Jay said causing her to drop Darcy. Darcy’s fine. Hazel asks who told her and she says Jay. Paige tells her she’s not a lesbian listing off the guys she dated and claims she got caught up in a moment and it meant nothing. Alex comes up behind and hears this walking out of the gym sad. Paige approaches her telling her she can’t like girls and she kissed Alex because she felt bad. Kevin and Jason are signing autographs and hear this scene.

At the Thank You Kevin rally, Miss H presents him with an honorary diploma before the squad is called to perform. Paige however never did come up with a routine and they just wing it.

Emma is pouty and Christine asks what’s up. Simpson shows up with his old bike helmet saying he sold the bike and that the two of them, Emma, and Manny are going to Mexico at the end of term on vacation and Jack will go to the grandparents. She flips and walks to her room. Simpson says it’s got to do with him.

Jay is waiting for Alex when she’s home. He tells her life sucks…he was kicked out of school, Sean moved away, Spinner found the lord and she’s the only one who gets him and he doesn’t want to lose her too.

Paige comes into the gym and sees Kevin and Jason apologizing about the pep rally but she was distracted. Kevin asks if she likes the girl….Paige says she’s not gay….her brother’s gay she’s so not. Kevin tells her that she seemed happy and weather she’s gay or bi or questioning it’s worth experimenting and she should track down Alex.

Christine and Simpson fight about the kiss and Simpson is moving to Joey’s. Emma tells him to go back and fight for her mother and the family.

Jay comes into the apartment to hang out with Alex’s mom and her boyfriend. Her mom says that she’s so glad that she took Jay back and comments how he reminds her of her boyfriend. Alex says she wants some space and she’s never taking Jay back. She heads outside to see Paige waiting. Paige is ready to stop worrying about what people think and tells Alex she’s not anything she’s everything.
