4x16 Eye of the Tiger-recap

This episode opens up as Jimmy arrives back at Degrassi for the first time after the shooting. As he is being lowered off the handy-bus it looks as if the entire school is outside watching him. As this happens Jimmy’s eyes meet with Spinner.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Spinner approaches Jimmy in the hall and apologizes for not visiting him in the hospital to see him and understands if he hates him. It’s at this point that I’d think that Jimmy is going to put Spinner on blast however we get a montage of a guilt ridden Spinner helping Jimmy cope with maneuvering around the halls in his chair. At the end of the montage Spinner goes to talk to Armstrong about doing something special for Jimmy at basketball practice.

The B plot opens with JT and Liberty making out in the Van Zandt backyard. Danny arrives wanting to skateboard with JT however he’d rather hang out with Liberty.

At the practice to which Spinner is either now on the actual team or now has a jersey as manager/water boy they present Jimmy with the MVP trophy saying it’s now going to be named the Jimmy Brooks Award.

JT and Liberty are still making out and being all couply however Danny never gives them a warning that Mr. Van Zandt is coming and soon he kicks JT out. It seems to me anyway it is less to do with him  not liking JT but more to do with the fact he just doesn’t want his teenage daughter dating…..I wonder what he thought of Towerz or if he ever even met the thug.

Jimmy is in the gym trying to shoot layups from his chair and fails. Spinner arrives and Jimmy vents that his future and career are over and in the three months since the shooting he’s done allot of thinking in the hospital and admits that there are times he wishes Rick had better aim and killed him. Spinner breaks down and tells Jimmy that he and Jay saw Rick in the bathroom and commented that Jimmy was the one who caused the paint and feathers. Jimmy rolls away and later Marco and Craig tell Spinner no one wants to see him….even Manny ignores him in the halls.

Danny pretty much tells JT ‘bros before hoes’ and comments about how yea his sister has smarts so she can help him (JT) read directions on his penis pump. They get into a fight however Liberty takes Danny’s side not JT’s.

At the Dot Jay tells Spinner he told him so about telling about the shooting and the part they played in everything. Jay doesn’t want to fight….he just wants to introduce Spinner to his friend Jack who will help him cope with the loss of his friends.

Liberty is upset at Danny because she thinks that he’s caused her relationship with JT to end and wants him to fix it even though CLEARLY she JUST chose her brother over him.

Jay and Spinner wax philosophical drunk before Spinner goes to crash Jimmy’s party. Okay so it’s not so much a rager as it is Jimmy, Hazel, Paige, Marco, Ashley, and Craig singing karaoke.  He tries to apologies however ends up taking keys and hopping in a car. Marco and Craig try to stop him but it’s not until Jimmy wheels in front of the moving vehicle that he stops. Jimmy then tells Spinner he’s DEAD to him.

Danny sets things right with JT and Liberty and soon they kiss and make up.

Spinner comes clean to Miss. H about how he and Jay were responsible for the paint and feathers and ends up being expelled from Degrassi.
