13x14: Barely Breathing

Anyway moving on the episode opens with Alli applying concealer and flashing back to Leo hitting her. Jenna comments on her caking the makeup on and offers assistance however Alli says she was just studying for her SATs and was trying to hide the bags under her eyes. Clare then asks if she talked to Leo about moving to the states with her. Alli says she doesn’t want to talk about it they had a fight and she just wants to focus. Conner then shows up with balloons and flowers which Jenna thinks are for her but they are from Leo. Jenna says he is a sweetheart and Clare comments she guesses he’s sorry but Alli just wishes to focus.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Degrassi takes bullying very seriously however things are out of Simpson’s hands. He doesn’t control the internet and while social media sights are blocked on schools computers people can still access them on their own devices. Maya tells Simpson that Sorry won’t make things better and storms out. Zoe approaches her and says they’ll find the person and until then Maya should lay low.

Drew goes to look for Dallas to apologize for pulling what he pulled on him however he’s gone.

Maya is in the music room practicing when a random guy comes in commenting how he likes her music and if anybody tries to pull something on her he’s got her back…her sweet sweet back. He tries to come onto her and Miles punches the perv. Maya says how everyone thinks she’s a slut and Miles says he doesn’t before asking how many guys she’s kissed and she tells him three. Well I’m no mathlete but I know she’s kissed AT LEAST four… Cam, Zig, Harry (that random one-off character in Zombie) and Tristan…(had she also kissed Miles yet by now I really wasn’t paying attention cause I could care less) Miles claims he’s kissed 50…well girls and one Tristan and that someone should make a page about him. Maya wishes things would go away and get back to normal and Miles has an idea.

Clare and Alli are going over vocab words and comments about her ignoring Leo’s texts and calls as Leo soon shows up wanting to apologize. She tells him he said it would never happen again and he says how he just didn’t want to lose her and he’ll move to the states because he loves her. She doesn’t want to be THAT GIRL who perpetuates a cycle of abuse and Leo vows he’ll change and be better however the bell rings and she heads to her SAT.

Miles takes Maya down the ‘rubber room’ hallway to the bad part of the school and while I’m not tagging foreshadowing moments this one is a nice one to point out. Miles brings her to Grace who is a new character and a bit of a hacker…she’s kind of an amalgam of Alex and Jane well at least in attitude though she hasn’t really been elevated past sidekick status yet and I’m rambling. Miles pays her and she says it was made from a fake account however she was able to track them down and Maya is shocked.

Drew finds out that Dallas was cut from the Hockey team weeks ago and Luke is the new captain and Dallas has been AWOL ever since. Drew calls Dallas saying he heard about the team and he’s sorry but it doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world.

Maya approaches Zoe telling her she knows the other girl started the face range page and she thought they were friends. Zoe says friends don’t steal friend’s boyfriends and then calls Maya a slut. Maya spills nail polish on Zoe who comments how hard it is to get out to which Maya replies about how hard it is to get out ‘Bitch’. Seriously has anyone made a supercut of Maya saying BITCH because I need it in my life and they have a rather pathetic catfight. The girls end up in the office and both get two weeks detention. Maya says that Zoe made the page but again Simpson’s hands are tied since school computers weren’t involved, he suggests legal action but both moms are against it…Maya is pissed.

Drew goes into his class worried because Dallas was still MIA, he shows up a bit drunk but he’s still there to do his presentation. Drew has it all under control as Dallas admits he’s a failure eventually puking in class.

Maya tells miles how Zoe is going to get off scott free and how she wants the other girl dead. Miles is riffing on guitar and the duo start going on a Blues riff and Miles suggests Maya find a way to educate everyone on how evil Zoe is.

Drew tells Dallas he’s glad that he pulled it off for his class however Dallas says he’s moving home cause he was only at Degrassi for hockey and who is he without it. Drew says after his head injuries he was worried what his life would be like without Football and now he’s president. He then tells Dallas he’s already lost one brother this year he can’t afford to lose another…ouch.

Alli is taking her test and reads a prompt to write about a mistake and do people change or something like that.

Maya tells the music teacher she wrote another new song about karma and how it sucks…it pretty much is about wanting Zoe to die. Miss O is not amused.

Dallas plans to stay and promises to get his act together, no more drinking and to at least learn a girl’s name before he brings her home.

Maya is suspended and grounded and ends up flipping out. Margaret then says if Maya really wants to press charges against Zoe she will consider it.

Alli shows up at the Dot wanting to talk to Leo. She tells him they have something special but if he wants to date her he needs to take anger management classes and allows her to go to MIT and that this is his last chance. He accepts her conditions.

Maya is at home playing her cello when Miles comes over apologizing for convincing Maya to write that song and that Zoe is just jealous of Maya. They then share a kiss before he tells her school will suck without her, kissing again he leaves as Margaret comes into the room. She asks Maya about pressing charges and Maya says she’s doesn’t want to dwell on this so she’s not pressing them.
