We’re at another milestone of an episode….that’s right we’re
on episode 300. 300! Yea that’s a lot and there is still plenty more to come.
This momentous episode opens as Maya is sitting on Campbell’s
bed playing guitar and working on a song while Campbell is working on a math
assignment and not paying attention to her. She asks his opinion however he
says he needs to focus on studying. Maya is put off….. They’ve been together
for a month and have only kissed six times. He kisses her a seventh and says
how with his arm and this test it’s hard to get in the mood. Maya then removes
her shirt revealing her sports bra and taking Campbell for a loop. He comments
saying what if his ‘billet mom’ walked in on them and she puts back on her
shirt and leaves because clearly school is more important.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
The next day, Maya approaches Zig in the hall asking where
Tori is. Zig is put off she didn’t say hi to him first. Maya then says hi and
Zig tells her Tori got a ride into school. Tori come into school all dolled up
and trying out a new pageant look. Maya can’t believe she does them because it’s
so objectifying but Zig says he likes seeing his girlfriend all decked out and
starts buttering her up. Maya asks what this pageant is…Miss Teeny Bikini, Miss
Spray Tan….. No, it’s the Miss Millennial Pageant and it’s serious. Maya then
pulls Tori over telling her about how she tried to get Campbell’s attention but
wound up on the floor in her bra. Tori asks what kind and Maya says sports.
This prompts Tori to want to give Maya a makeover and enlist her to be in the pageant
with her.
Katie, Jake, and Mo are in the library when Marisol comes in
asking how they’d like to spend Spring Break on a couple’s trip to Mexico.
Katies glad that Marisol’s parents gave the green light and Jake is more
surprised that Katie’s parents gave her one after being in rehab. She tells him
how she’s finally earned their trust back and Jake thinks his charm is the
cause for that. Marisol hands out medical forms for them to get travel
insurance. Jake hands Katie his because he doesn’t like paperwork and Marisol
asks if Mo wants her to do his. Mo rejects the idea and is put off and she
wants to know what’s wrong. Katie says perhaps he likes paper work and Marisol
points out Katie’s the only one boring enough to like paper work.
Dallas is helping Adam bench press. It’s a week later and
Becky is back from camp and Adam wants a distraction….he even wants to go out
for a sport. And yes….it’s a guy’s sport Volleyball. Audra comes down and is
upset to find out that the boys ate all the meat in the refrigerator again. She
then tells Adam to be careful with the weights and Adam comments how if he took
Testosterone he’d be stronger. Audra tells him no and that he needs to be safe
cause she already has one son with brain damage.
Maya plays the song that she wrote or Campbell to Mo. He
likes it and asks her to teach Imogen the lyrics. He tells her it’s a sexy song
and that she looks twelve
Marisol tosses a paper at Katie’s head because she’s been
paranoid about mo. He has a secret and she’s worried that he doesn’t trust her
like Jake trusts Katie and they’ve been dating twice the amount of time.
Maya can’t believe Tori and apparently Tristan talked her
into the makeover. Tori is gushing about the pageant however Maya hasn’t agreed
to do that…. Yet. Maya feels awkward with contacts and false eyelashes and her
hair teased up though if it gets Campbell’s attention she’s all for it. Tristan
wasn’t watching the door and thankfully no little girl’s arms were ripped off
just the arrival of Katie who laughs at her kid sister and the absurdness of
her new look and possibly entering a pageant.
Adam is at volleyball tryouts and Armstrong pulls him aside
to hand him a medical form for Audra to sign out. He’s not being singled out….all
the other students already turned one in. He tells Adam he’s a promising player
and to lead with that when talking to Audra.
A made over Maya approaches Campbell in the hall and he asks
why she changed her look. Maya says she’s thinking about joining up and doing a
pageant and Campbell rolls his eyes as he can’t see her in one. She asks if he
thinks she’s not pretty but that’s not the case….it’s just not her. She storms
away because she just doesn’t know what he wants.
Maya is CRYING in the Choir …err…band room when Zig comes
in. she says how she thought Campbell would like her ‘Pageant’ look cause he
likes Tori’s. He asks if Maya will enter the pageant because he knows she’ll
blow them all away in the talent portion.
Marisol takes Mo out to the Dot and confides in him that she
cheated on her math test. Mo is spacing out as she asks him to tell her a
secret about him. She’s pissed he’s not listening to her and when he walks off
to go pee she gets offended.
Adam wants to run the idea of Volleyball by Audra however
she’s crying as she washes Drew’s shirt. She misses him and she’s worried he’s
slipping away. He moved out and dropped out and thinks he’s getting married.
This is the first Adam’s heard about the proposal shockingly enough. She just
wants her boys to be safe and this whole conversation knowing the events of
13x6 through 13x8 just break me and make me all emotional.
Tori and Maya are at the pageant and Maya’s nervous. Tori
assures her that only ten girls make it to the next round and that for it being
her first time being one of them is a long shot so just go out and have fun…no
pressure.
While Mo’s gone, Marisol digs in his bag and finds a needle.
When Mo comes back she bales.
Tori comes onstage and is giving a flawless interview
however when Maya comes on she trips up….
Adam and Dallas are working out with a medicine ball talking
about Audra and the permission slip. Adam wants to play however he doesn’t want
to worry his mom. Dallas tells him to forge it because what Audra doesn’t know won’t
hurt her.
It’s time for the announcement of the top ten. Tori is
chosen and as the others are being called Zig gets all flirty telling Maya she’s
the best and Maya tells him it sucks that he’s taken. Maya is then called as
part of the top ten however her celebration is short lived as she watches Tori
and Zig make out.
Katie meets up with Marisol who tells her he knows Mo’s
secret and shows her the needle that she took from her bag. Mo does drugs….. It
has to be. Katie tells her Mo isn’t the type to do drugs and Katie says neither
was she.
Tori asks Maya if she’s ready to do this. Maya says yes
cause she wants a guy like Zig….yea sweetie drop the word like cause I know you
want Mr. Novak don’t deny. Anyway she pics up her cell and breaks up with
Campbell via phone….burn…. TBC
Maya’s singing her song to Tori who is not amused and
Tristan who smiles at first before changing his expression at Tori’s silent command.
Tori thought Maya was going to play cello but Maya says she thought singing an original
song may help her chance of winning. WINNING? But Tori lives and breathes pageants
and Maya thinks they are stupid. Tori tells her to not get her hopes up….winning
is a no shot…. Tori’s been in millions of pageants and she’s only ever been
runner up twice. Maya comments how Tori doesn’t think she’s pretty enough. Tori
says she’s just not the right kind of pretty.
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Katie gives Maya a hairband to wear with her pageant dress
and Maya isn’t in the mood to be mocked some more. Katie admits to thinking the
whole thing was silly up until her mom told her Maya made top ten. She does
love a good competition after all and is ready to play the doting stage mom
telling her Tori only told her she wasn’t pretty enough cause she thinks she’s
a threat. Maya then tells Katie she’s thinking of asking Zig to sing back up
for her ‘Talent’
Marisol pulls Mo into a classroom cause she needs to talk.
She knows he’s on drugs. She found needles in his bag and she doesn’t want him
to throw his life away. She hands him a pamphlet for the clinic Katie attended
but Mo shrugs it off saying he just loves drugs.
Adam’s made the team however seconds into his first practice
he breaks his nose.
Zig approaches Maya in the hall and is a bit flirty with her
and she flirts back asking him to play with her. She tells him how she’s
singing a song she wrote and Mo said she isn’t sexy enough to pull it off. He
tells her Mo is blind and will gladly help.
Marisol asks Jake if Mo asked him for money and to not give
it to him cause Mo has a drug addiction. Jake is all whoa this is serious and
starts chewing the scenery before telling her that Mo is diabetic and it was insulin.
Marisol says it’s worse and Jake wonders why insulin is worse than crack….it’s
cause it means he lied.
Maya tells Zig how she and Campbell broke up. Campbell wants
another chance cause he knows he messed up. Maya says how he doesn’t think she’s
pretty or wants to kiss her. Campbell says he’ll try harder but she doesn’t
need him to try and goes to meet up with Katie.
Adam sees Becky outside and hides cause he doesn’t want her
to see him like this. Eli sees him hiding and sees the nose and tells him he
should see a doctor.
Tori’s miffed that Maya is performing with Zig….sure she’s performing
with Tristan but he’s not her best friend’s boyfriend. Maya then pretty much
calls out all the times Tori has said how she’s not pretty when the whole
reason behind her doing the pageant was to boost her confidence in the first
place.
Tori’s doing her magic act on stage as Katie tells her she’ll
do great. Zig also helps butter her up and she sings her song.
Audra comes home and sees Adam’s face telling him that the
coach called so think long and hard before he gives an excuse that will cause
more drama. Adam tells her he was planning on telling her however she started
to cry and he couldn’t. She’s always worrying about Drew and he didn’t want her
to worry about him as well.
Marisol comes into the Dot and tells Mo how she doesn’t
think they should go on vacation together. She can understand him hiding a drug
problem but diabetes…. It’s a serious medical condition and she wishes that he
trusted her enough to tell him.
Maya thanks Zig backstage and they end up kissing. Maya
comments about how Tori……however before they can talk more Katie shows up and
is unamused.
Adam tells Audra he really likes Volleyball and Audra says
how she’ll be there to cheer on. She doesn’t like how he forged the signature
but she understands why. She loves the man he’s becoming and will consider
having a dialog with a specialist about treatments.
Katie calls Maya easy and that it takes two to kiss tango.
She doesn’t want her to backstab Tori and become a boyfriend stealer…. It’s not
her. Boys are shallow and if Zig’s the type of guy who kisses another girl then
he’s not the guy for Maya. It’s time for interviews and Tori says her greatest
flaw is that she has no filter but thankfully she has her friends to ground
her. Maya says her biggest flaw is that she’s a huge bitch and runs off stage
and to Campbell’s doorstep. He was right pageants are stupid and she hopes he
forgives her.
Mo’s sorry he wasn’t honest with Marisol he just didn’t want
her to look at him like he was sickly. They make up and Marisol gives him a
med-alert bracelet cause the thought of something bad happening to him hurts
too much.
Tori won miss congeniality and tells Maya she was so robbed
in winning talent. She is glad that things worked out with Maya and Campbell as
well though it’s clear Zig isn’t and he pulls Maya to the side to talk about ‘music
stuff’ and by music stuff he asks her why she’s back with Campbell….they kissed
and he felt something.
