The season opens just weeks after the events of last
season/the movie special as Studz hot off their theatrical debut in Mewsical
High are rocking it at Degrassi. As they are singing in the gym cut to a limo
pulling up in front of the school as two well-dressed students exit from it.
They are Declan and Fiona Coyne, their father is some sort of diplomat and it’s
unclear whether they are American, Canadian, or duel citizens as while they
call New York their ultimate home they are world travelers. Chantey introduces
herself to the twins’ camera in hand ready to vlog. They ask who the important
people are…. Holly J the president, Studz Degrassi’s own movie stars and the
lead singers girlfriend famed model Mia just home from Paris. I assume the
shoot that was canceled/delayed in the movie happened and she flew from LA to
Paris then back home which was why she had millions of dollars of cloths with
her on the bus….see it all comes together. Holly J tells the band they are on
the set list for the Winter Beach Bash while Peter comments they ARE the set
list and informs Mia he’s so close to landing a spot in the music master class.
WHATEVER IT TAKES this season it’s a new vocal track of the
theme song as well as some new scenes as Derek and Mia are now gone and the
four new characters this season are added. The changes are as follows: The
Leia/Derek scene is now Declan/Fiona, between the Anya/Chantey and KC/Clare/Connor/Alli
scene is now Leia/Holly J, then after the grade nine quad are new grade niners
Jenna and Dave…. Finally with Holly J in a new scene the one of her and Mia is
obviously gone….
Chantey wants to ask Mia and Peter what their portmanteau is
since are the it couple. Chantey
introduces them to Declan and Fiona before going on their way. The twin’s mom
is the new editor of TO style (a plot that I assume dropped as quick as it’s
came) and Declan offers to hook Mia up with the magazine sometime. He then
tells Peter that his band rocks and it’s adorable how he calls Peter ‘Sir’ He
can’t wait to check out the beach bash as it beats the stuffy get together that
their parents throw.
Johnny won’t give Alli any hallway PDA however after seeing
Clare the two girls embrace and gush about how almost all their classes even
their non-gifted electives are the same. They then leave their boys in the dust
and scamper off. Jenna bumps into Alli with her guitar and is so glad that the
girls aren’t all mean girls and backstabbers like her old school. She’s a big
bubbly ball and Alli already doesn’t like her Mary Sunshine attitude.
Peter shows up in the Master Class however there isn’t an
open slot for him.
Jenna is singing in
the café auditioning for Holly J. Alli wonders if they stepped into a bizarre
white version of Fame (or as I like to call it Glee ) and Clare hopes not
because she’s tone deaf. But not Jenna….she’s amazing though Alli is the first
to point out that nobody can be sunshine and rainbows all the time…..(remind
anyone else of another newbie blonde who becomes totes BFFs with Jenna three
seasons later ) Jenna’s the final performer for the bash. Alli asks what her
deal is and Jenna smiles thanking Alli for calling her pretty.
Mia tells Peter to just take normal classes since he’s not in
the music track….he asks how he got lucky with a smart girl like Mia and asks
if her mom can sit for Isabella. She is cause Mia is meeting her agent to set
up another shoot since she feels bad for turning allot down lately…..um….but
didn’t you say you were taking a hiatus and only working Summer and Holidays? I
guess too much hairspray got to your brain there Mia….. Or you’ve booked a one
way ticket to Mystic Falls so continuity for the moment is out the window. Nope….Peter
does bring this up and Mia calls her non supportive. Declan decides to join
Peter at lunch since besides his sister Peter is his only friend. He asks what
he can do for his new friend and Peter comments how he can get him and Mia into
the mom’s party. Declan casually comments that Mia would wear something low cut
he’d assume and being the worldly guy Declan is we all know in the back of his
mind he’s thinking of a ménage a trios’. Peter though is quick to comment
whatever she does wear she’s off limits.
In science class they are supposed to pair up and Alli sits
alone so that Jenna is Clare’s partner…. Keep your friends close and the
sketchy new girl closer.
Mia shows up at Peter’s place and he comments that he thought
she was at a meeting. She was but it’s over. He’s glad and tells her about the
party. She has something to tell him too….she’s the new face of Eurofresh and
this contract is massive like two hundred fifty GRAND massive….though she’s
going to move to Paris….France not Texas not that it matters. She’s leaving
Saturday and she needs to head out cause she’s getting a rushed visa.
Alli brings Clare breakfast and tells her that yes they are
friends she just wants her to crack Jenna. Because she’s CLERLY the devils
spawn.
Mia is getting her ducks all in a row having a tutor set up
in Paris so she won’t lose her year. She may need to miss a party or two but
she’ll make it work. Speaking of parties she can go to the Coynes solo and he
gives her all her stuff back. Though the breakup is short lived as he thinks
perhaps he’ll move too. He’s emancipated and still has movie money and he can
always lomb onto her tutor…. It’s brilliant.
Alli asks KC where Clare is and he comments that he thought
she was with the other girl. Clare is actually in a classroom with Jenna
getting a guitar lesion. Clare comments how it’s much harder than it looks and
Jenna pulls a that’s what he said line. Jenna asks if she wants to have another
lesson or work on their project and Clare tells her she has plans with Alli but
Jenna can join in.
Peter and Mia arrive at the swanky Coyne party and have a
feeling they are not in Kansas anymore Toto but it’s fine cause they’ll be
going to plenty of posh parties like this in Paris. Declan tells them this is
their home sweet home for the next six months give or take and Fiona offers
them a raw Oyster. Peter is grossed out and Declan comments about how droll he
is and asks Peter to liven up the party with a song but without the band he
sucks and it’s no wonder he didn’t get into the music program.
Clare is giving Jenna a manicure and she tells her how it’s
one of the useful things Darcy taught her. Alli can’t believe that they are
friends…..she knew Jenna would be a friend stealer. Jenna isn’t a stealer (yet)
and she wants to be friends with both girls.
Peter vents about how he and the party sucks and Mia tells him
no he doesn’t before Mrs. Coyne pulls her away. Fiona joins Peter who casually
comments about her not moving to another galaxy (see CW) like his other
girlfriends. Fiona promises it’s not in the cards (see lesbian though she’s in Narnia
at present time). Victoria shows up and offers Peter drugs.
Jenna is glad that the girls want to be friends cause it’s so
hard being the new girl. She then asks what boys are off limits cause she’s a
known boyfriend stealer and her MO is bad boys… RED FLAG RED FLAG perhaps Alli
was right to not want to trust her. Alli tells her she’s with Johnny and Clare
says she’s with KC. Johnny is too old and she promises not to look at KC
BULLSHIT!!!!!
Peter is high as a kite and Mia casually asks Declan if there
are drugs going around and Declan casually comments that he can find her some
if she wants. NO….she wants to know if Peter is….and Fiona comments that
Victoria is giving out party favors and yea he’s on crank. Mia asks if he took
something from Victoria and he admits he took a little coke…..coke would have
been better but this is meth which is much worse. A High Peter was up all night
gaming and Mia lied telling her mom he had food poisoning so she could spend
the night. He promises it was a one off but Mia tells him tons of addicts say
the same thing and he needs help. He just wants to go to school…..TBC….also
instead of an instrumental outro there is now vocals to it.
Peter is looking up Paris as he’s crashing. Riley asks what’s
up and he says he’s planning on going to Paris with Mia. Declan shows up in the
MI lab commenting how he’s not seen anyone down that many oysters since Mardi
Gras and that the post drug crash is always the worse before informing Riley
that Pete was on meth….Peter promised it’s a one-time thing and asks Declan if
he’s ever…..no confidence comes naturally to him but Victoria is a human
pharmacy. He asks if they had sex and that when Peter said no he claims he
dodged an STI bullet cause all she does is drug up and sleep around. He goes on
some Meth site and shows Peter a before and after picture and says this is him
in six months if he gets hooked…..it was a one-time thing (my ass)
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Kwan is doing a lesson on Pygmalion and god I swear her
lessons relate so much to plot points. Anyway Blue drew something for Holly J.
It’s a sketch of her as a super heroine which is the cover of a scrap book with
articles about the Dot robbery from Danger Zone. ‘Super Holly’ Anya asks where
the J. She comments Blue just calls her Holly.
Mia is withdrawing and Isabella points out that Peter looks
sick. Peter says he has food poisoning. Peter is making a transcript request
and says he should be there as soon as Tuesday giving them five months before
her mom and daughter arrive.
Holly J is stressing about all that needs to be done for the
beach bash. Sav asks if they are getting a hot tub which is impossible but
Tacos she can do. She only has two hours to set the dance up so it can’t be too
elaborate. Blue makes an announcement asking who wants to help her set up
saying they will have a hot tub. He then tells her that the shooting has helped
boost her likeness factor.
Sav and Peter are talking about the band and Peter moving to
Paris and how he’s better then Sav cause the latter doesn’t know what he’d do
if Anya posed nearly naked in magazines. Peter is still in a crashy mood though
falling asleep in class.
Holly J is impressed at all the help she’s getting as Dave
approaches her with a suggestion….that they have a toga day for fun. She says
she’ll look into it and Blue says Holly J will make it happen.
Mia’s doing a shoot where she’s posing sexy with another guy.
Peter flips out and ends up heading back to his apartment where he obviously
took more meth. Mia shows up and he comments that she should stay in Toronto and
be with him cause they are happy…..he pretty much calls her selfish and blames
her for him taking drugs. She tells him he’s not going to Paris he’s going to
get rehab. The next day he’s all high as a kite again….he’s not moving away but
it’s okay girls come and go but Studz rock.
Conner and KC have a request, for athletes to get front of
the line café privileges. She doesn’t like that she’s a walking suggestion box.
Anya comments that she‘ll never be happy….first everyone hated her now she’s
got a cute boy and the respect of the student body.
Danny and Sav are talking about Peter’s iradic behavior and Declan
tells them about the drugs.
At the beach bash Jenna’s singing. Blue comments about how
the bash is a success as Anya gives Holly J a taco. She’s starving and hasn’t
eaten all day however before she can relax Conner files a complaint about Bruce
cutting the line when football season is over and Dave wants to know just when
toga day is. Clare comments about a bad smell from the bathroom and she starts
to flip out. Blue says she needs work with prioritizing and she says no she
doesn’t her priority is her damn taco. Studz go on stage sans Peter but they
don’t know who is going to sing….Sav ends up doing it meanwhile Peter is
wandering the streets high. He shows up at the school and a fight breaks out.
Blue tells Holly J she needs to go inside and break it up but she deals in raffle
tickets not drama and as he comments about the way she should handle the money
she flips….she’s the president not him and being president means she does
things HER way.
High!Peter is back on the street not answering his cell. He
ends up calling Riley saying he thinks he’s ODed or something he’s in the
middle of the street and is tripping out. Danny, Spinner, Sav, and Riley find a
tweaked Peter and take him home. Sav and Danny leave but Riley and Spinner plan
to spend the night. He gives Riley the drugs to flush and makes a long distance
call….to his mom asking for her to come home.
Holly J is cleaning up from the dance and Blue shows up
saying if she’s ready to apologize he’s ready to listen. She however calls him
on his crap saying in the immortal words of Popeye ‘I Yam What I Yam…..and by
the way it’s Holly FREAKING J’
Mia is talking to Peter via Skype about how first class and
Paris is and he tells her his mom is back from Ragina. She’s glad he’s not
alone and hopes he keeps in touch. Miss H tells him if he relapses she’s
sending him to rehab.
