The episode opens with Paige taking an exam…..or rather attempting
to however the time limits for the questions keep on going past and she’s not
written a thing. Anxiety has gotten the better of her and she goes into a panic
attack and walks out.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Paige is in her dorm room while a party is going on outside.
Picking up her cell, she leaves a voice mail for Alex. After the next class
Paige’s professor calls her wanting to know why she walked out of the midterm
and how Paige needs this class to keep in the program. After informing Paige
that perhaps she’s not cut out for the school, she scoffs saying she’s a legacy
and gets a take home test to do over the weekend for a makeup….along with the
20 page paper and chapter notes she already had to do. Keep in mind this is
Thanksgiving Weekend (though I always thought Thanksgiving was the Monday of Columbus
Day here in the states so why would they have school/assignments due on
Monday???)
Peter apologizes to Darcy about the pictures again and she
tells him that if he comes back to the school the following AM he might be forgiven.
Paige can’t believe her parents are renovating and Dylan
informs her that they ALWAYS are doing so. Because of this Thanksgiving Dinner
for the DelRossi / Michalchuck clans. Alex wants to catch
up with Paige and they must as the next scene is of the girls + Marco on the
couch. Marco goes to bed however Paige wants Alex to spend the night as a
friend. Alex tells Paige how she has a new girlfriend Carla (who is played by
the same actress as one of Joey’s younger girlfriends gal pals back in Weddings
Parties Anything though I don’t believe is the same character) Alex also tells
Paige how she’s thinking of attending Banting in the fall.
The following day Peter shows up at
Degrassi and Darcy has him set up for a Turkey Dinner that is being planned for
the homeless the following day.
Paige is trying to work but it’s getting
loud. Her mom shows up with a recipe for Dylan and Paige tries to tell her
about her failing however she can’t and instead ends up having another panic
attack which in turn leads her to yelling at Alex through the bathroom door. After
the attack she offers to take up the cooking duties.
The following day her parents and Marco’s
show up. And Paige begins to serve. As she does her mom keeps bringing up all
of Paige’s different accomplishments. She’s already on edge when Alex and Carla
show up.
Peter and Darcy go and feed the homeless
old people.
Paige’s mom continues to talk Paige up
to everyone and she’s on the cusp of having another attack.
Peter offers to drive Darcy home and she
asks about his license. He tells her it’s okay to drive.
Paige brings the Turkey out as her mom
asks what the big news she’d been hinting at earlier had been. Before she says
anything the Turkey explodes and everyone laughs at her. She has a mini attack
and Marco comes to talk to her. He understands the stresses of school and has a
secret….last week he got gasp a C. Paige tells him that she’s going to drive
back to campus that night to finish with her school work.
Peter drives Darcy home but gets pulled
over as his license still is very much suspended and he’s pissed that she lied
to him about this.
Paige is in her dorm trying to do her
work and soon tosses her papers into the garbage and knocks a candle in setting
the room on fire…..to be continued.
The fire is being put out and the TA
tells Paige that she’ll have to move into the common room until further notice.
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Paige is prepping what to say to her professor
when her cell phone rings. It’s Alex asking to guess who made her third A in
Bio. Paige answers with ‘Heather Sinclair (#22). Alex hopes Paige will forgive
her for laughing over the Turkey incident and ask if Paige is okay and she says
she is.
Paige goes to the professor and asks for
a second extension however she’s told she’s not an exception and she has until
five.
Peter’s car is impounded and his parents
are fighting about it. Darcy watches from afar.
Paige ‘works’ on her paper though by
working she is really buying it online.
Darcy gives Peter a bus pass and is
sorry for flipping out at him about lying about the car and Peter asks to go
for a walk with her.
Paige hands her paper into the professor
who rolls her eyes at her. She’s gotten that paper numerous times before and
knows it’s a fake this Paige gets a zero for plagiarism. She then tells the professor
off and informs her that she’s dropping out.
The walk Peter has planned is actually
him going and picking up dog crap in the park for the community service he has
to do. He asks if the reverend can sign off on him working the soup kitchen and
Darcy is pissed thinking he’s only using her to score services projects.
Paige shows back up in Toronto and
crashes Alex and Carla’s date and ends up crashing at Alex’s place. She then
ends up kissing Alex. The following day she makes breakfast and Alex asks what’s
up however Paige deflects her.
Darcy gives Peter the note from the reverend
and he admits he had fun with her and wasn’t trying to use her.
Paige tries to transfer to TU however
without transcripts the best she can do is to reapply to get in the following
fall since she doesn’t want to give them her failing transcripts from Banting.
Peter shows up at the Edwards home and
Darcy tells them they are going to get in so much Sugar if her parents find him
there.
Paige shows up at the gangs Karaoke
night (note the song they sung is from Instant Star a show that was done around
this time for The-N from the same production company as Degrassi) Paige tells
the gang she’s transferred to TU and is moving home. Alex asks why and Paige says
she’s lonely. After the get together, Paige spills something on her boots and
while looking for paper towels in Paige’s car, Alex finds all the failing
school papers.
Darcy gives Peter a day planner with her
schedule and tells him to do the same thing so they can plan date time. Peter
plans to but is soon reminded all the commitments that he has to do and wonders
if this is a good idea.
Alex tells Paige’s mom about the papers
and sets up an intervention.
Darcy hates watching Peter’s parents
fight (sweetie be glad you were in West Beverly…I mean Africa in season ten)
and claims she’s there for him.
Paige can’t believe Alex blindsided her
by telling her mom and admits she just wants to make Alex be proud of her
again.
