6x04 Can’t Hardly Wait—

 Way back in season one when I did re-caps I’d made reference to this episode though I think I’d said it was season seven’s ‘It’s Tricky’ with this plot. I think I got confused since both are rather Jimmy/Ashley heavy and while they did seem like a super couple of sorts I’ve never really liked them together.

Ashley shows up and looks at Jimmy who is drawing and hands him a new whistle as he’s the coach of the JV girl’s basketball team. She then starts to look at his work and sees little sketches like the one screen printed on his shirt (Marco saw the sketch and thought it would be a good design and it’s a nice foreshadow into how Jimmy mass markets later on) as well as a drawing of ex Hazel. Ashley asks when he’ll draw his current girlfriend and from the looks of things she wants him to if I may quote Titanic….Draw her like one of his French Girls replacing the heart of the ocean for his coach’s whistle.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Spinner is telling Jimmy how he and Darcy were at the movies and were going at it in the back row….just kidding only in his dreams. Jimmy says they are guys and guys don’t talk about sex lives. Spinner says at least he has one. Jimmy shakes his head saying his mind is willing however he can’t get it up…..yea that’s right I told you a whole episode about ERECTILE DISFUNCTION.

Darcy’s hanging up posters for Spirit Squad tryouts and she begs Manny to re-join. She’s sorry for the drama between them the year before and really could use Manny’s amazing choreography back on the squad.

Jimmy is at PT and gets a hard on and he smiles because he’s been willing for one to happen awkward time be damned. He’s now feeling like a better person. He tells Spinner that he took his advice to relax and he got it up. Ashley approaches and Spinner lets Jimmy tell her the news. Jimmy invites Ashley out for sushi and maybe more.

Spirit Squad try outs. So far not so good however there is one other audition….Mia Jones…. I freaking can’t stand her and it’s part of why I didn’t end up seeing Vampire Diaries even though EVERYONE and there sister was and still does tell me I should get into it. She is the only person who does good and Darcy invites her to meet her and Manny after school at the Dot.

Jimmy shows Ashley his drawing he made of her telling her that she’s his number one before everything and he’s glad she’s in her life. Then he invites her over to a private modeling session since his parents are out….and maybe they’ll do more than just draw because he’s ready.

Darcy tells Manny she thinks the squad is ready to take the squad to a place that Paige never took them….a Regional Competition. With the two of them and Mia they’ll be unstoppable. However her enthusiasm is kicked down a few pegs as Mia enters the diner introducing Darcy and Manny to her daughter Isabella.  Manny is fawning over the wee one however Darcy doesn’t know what to think because babies mean premarital sex which is a total sin.

Candles are lit as Ashley descends the stairs in just a bra, panties and an unbuttoned men’s shirt. They go on the couch and start to make out but Jimmy can’t and he kicks her out. The next day Jimmy apologizes for doing…or not doing it. Ashley is okay they can live without doing you know but Jimmy doesn’t want to settle. Ashley tells him there are options and Jimmy tells her he has a doctor’s appointment.

Cheer Practice goes on and Darcy is extra hard on Mia singling her out and putting her through paces.

Jimmy talks to a doctor about his penis….the doctor tells him there are options like implants and pumps but first he’s going to try to prescribe him Viagra. Jimmy will try anything he just doesn’t want to be a virgin for the rest of his life. After the appointment Jimmy takes a pill and is trying to hook up with Ashley but still nothing.

Manny is telling Mia how they need the squad to be more gymnastics and dance driven this year. Mia day’s yea if she’s even on the squad. They look at the list and she’s not despite her being the best.

The girls are playing their first ball game against Lakehurst and Manny walks into the gym with Mia both in uniform. Darcy doesn’t want her on the squad because she has a kid and is unreliable. From the sidelines one of the Lakehurst spectators makes a comment about how Mia is there and if she knows who the daddy was and a brawl breaks out. JT ended up getting in the mix somehow and the Lakehurst guy tells him and Toby they should sleep with one eye open because it’s not over…..not by a long shot.

Ashley wants to try for a third time no negligée no pills no pressure…Jimmy tells her to get her things it’s over.

Mia is off the squad cause of the fight and Manny wants to quit too. Mia tells her not to.

Ashley is packing her things upset. She says Jimmy wants to break up however the only reason he does is because he can’t put out. He’s a crippled virgin and Ashley deserves better. Ashley doesn’t care and she wants to stay with Jimmy no matter what.
