3x17 Don't Dream It's Over RECAP

Paige’s parents are planning to go away for the weekend and have given her use of the van (so it’s implied that they all must of passed the driving test they were planning to take huh). Terri doesn’t want to go because she doesn’t want to be a fifth wheel and Paige says she won’t but if it worries her then bring someone else.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

In Kwan’s class which I can’t tell if it’s a separate theater class or if tenth grade English at least at this point was a theater/acting unit they are doing trust exercises. Rick pairs up with Terri who is scared. Rick promises that he won't drop her and he doesn’t. After class he’s complaining about not doing more scenes from well reputed classic writers and then apologizes for before and that he misses her.

Simpson’s back and he’s passing out assignments. Marco welcomes him back before talking to Ellie about going to see a foreign film over the weekend. When Ashley hears about Ellie going to see that she comments that she didn’t think it was Sean’s type of film and Ellie admits it is just her and Marco. Later while Ellie is at her co-op Sean shows up asking her out on a date and while she’d already had plans with Marco she says yes.

Jimmy, Hazel, Spinner, and Paige are at the Dot waiting for Terri who soon arrives with Rick. After last time they don’t want him joining them but in the end they think it’s better than leaving Rick alone with Terri.

Ellie shows up to the date with Sean and brings along Marco since they had previous plans she didn’t want to break.

At the park Rick takes a seat on the hood of Paige’s mom’s car and gets offended when Paige asks him to get off so he doesn’t dent the hood with his butt.

Marco/Ellie/Sean are awkwardly sitting through the movie in a blink and you’d miss it scene.

Paige invites Terri to spend the night and comments asking why’d she take Rick back after what he did to her. Rick is eavesdropping and calls Paige a backstabber who thinks she’s too perfect for her own good. Paige says it’s better than being a psycho. Rick runs off and Paige feeling guilty tells her to go after him. Terri does and says Rick is right and Paige is manipulative and tells him she’s sorry about what she said and they kiss. When they pull back, Terri wants him to rejoin the group however Rick wants to walk home. Terri says it’s just Paige being Paige. Rick grabs her wrist angry that he’s siding with Paige over him and soon he pushes her toward the ground where she bashes her head on a rock and is unconscious.

Paige meanwhile is worried as Terri’s been gone over twenty minutes. She goes to where Terri and Rick walked off to with Spinner to find Rick hovered over Terri’s unconscious body.

At school on Monday there is an announcement that Terri is in the hospital due to the weekend’s events and Simpson informs he can’t talk details though Terri’s immediate circle of friends know it’s cause of Rick.

Marco and Ellie are talking about Terri and possibly visiting her despite not knowing her that well when Sean shows up. He wants to spend time with alone with Ellie however Ellie doesn’t want to.

Spinner and Paige are at the hospital and Terri’s dad tells them that the doctors found a blood clot and she needs surgery. He then goes off on them about not telling him about Rick before it got this serious. This leads to Spinner and Paige fighting.

Ellie wants to dump Sean for being rude however Marco notes Ellie’s the rude one for making him the third wheel in their relationship.

Spinner confronts Rick and gets all violent. Paige pulls him back and after Rick leaves with his mom he breaks down saying he’s no better than him resulting to violence.

Ellie admits to Sean he’s her first real boyfriend and didn’t know what to do and they decide to start over.

Spinner and Paige go back to the hospital. Terri got through the surgery okay and her dad apologizes for going off at them saying that the two of them are good friends and Terri is lucky to have them.
