Champagne Supernova Part 4 the Video

So we didn’t get to see who posted the video as it was on a dummy account but, well we did see the video and WOW just WOW words do not do it justice.

In talking about the video both Miles and Zig talk about how they do like girls however then, Zig calls Miles out saying how he likes boys now...remember.

Miles then tries to narrow down the list of people who hate him especially as he reads the comments on the music video and all the brutal hash tags

Champagne Supernova, Part 3: Lola

So apparently from what I'm reading this is supposed to be a who done it kind of story that is semi canonical with episodes coming out Tuesday Night on MTV Canada's site for Canadians and Wednesday Afternoon for American and International viewers....

So the pink haired dog belongs to Degrassi's own Cat Valentine wannabe Lola who is apparently Latina (who knew right....go representation!!!! though that means her chances of being black holed just doubled) She's upset the boys dog-napped Fernando and comments about how since her parents found out about Degrassi Nudes (a plot point from 14A which I ended up not doing post-morts about and will recap here sometime this summer)her parents don't want her talking to boys and if she's caught they'd reduce her cell phone plan (which why wouldn't they of done that anyway when Lola was using said cell to post above mentioned nude selfies...) The boys refuse to leave until Lola tells them about last night.

She tells them how they took the dog after going off on a tangent about liberating guys from the chains of girls...because according to a music video they made they hate girls....also they were cuffed together when they took Fernando...

With a music video being the next clue I can only guess that episode 4 will lead them to resident Hacker Jane or resident Director Eli (as based on promo art they are both 'suspects' along with : Clare, Frankie, Tristan, Zoe, Winston and Maya)

Champagne Supernova Parts 1/2

This was pleasant surprise as I didn't know that they would have another web-series this season. At first I thought it would be like last season's Maya-centric one that was only available on MTV Canada's website (though I'm sure it's bootlegged someplace on YouTube) however it was uploaded to the official Degrassi channel.

Unlike Dorm Life I don't think that this one is narrative relevant and is more a fun romp like the webisodes of old (Which I am still pondering recapping at some time)

This one is kind of a Dude Wheres My Car/Hangover type plot where Miles and Zig wake up handcuffed to one another...Miles has a black eye and Zig has a 'Jack Has It' tattooed on his back. The boys make their way to Jack's place in part 2 finding out that the tattoo was just marker and what Jack had was a dog (why it's hair was partially and inhumanly dyed pink...I think it may have to do with Lola and I think from the end of the episode the boys think that as well.

While I have love/hate relationships with both boys I am really loving this series so far (though if it all comes back to the whole love triangle they have with Maya I'm going to smash my head into a wall)

14x01 Smells Like Teen Spirit Post-Mort:

So, I think at least on the Tuesday's I don't close I'm going to make a list of 8-10 points from the episode (also I will not be labeling characters on this)

  • I didn't like that they kept the crap opening from last year but beggers can't be choosers
  • I kind of thought Clare even considering abortion was a bit OOC (then again present Clare and Clare pre season 10 are pretty much different people)
  • I was confused about Becky and her cheer team though from what I gather the new Power Cheer team is a competitive team while the Power Squad cheers at events (though if that's the case why did the new team preform at the event in this episode?)
  • Zoemund...that is all
  • Triles....well...that's happening
  • Drecky are a thing (for now)
  • We met 2 of the newbies (though not by name)
  • Maya is still annoying....

Random Musings

  • I'm pondering if I want to go back and attempt postmortoms again for season 14 or just wait until the seasons over to do recaps...or maybe I'll meet things halfway and do an opinions post at the end of each block?

  • Aside from 4 new characters (3 freshman joining the Hollingsworth Twins + another Sophomore (or is Jonah a random Junior I already forgot) Tiny seems to be added to the main cast. Should I go back and tag him in season 13?

Speaking of tags of the 76 characters tagged I'd share the top 20

1-Clare (season 6, 8-Present)
2-Alli (Season 8-Present)
3-Drew  (Season 10-Present)
4-Spinner (Season 1-9)
5-Manny (Season 1-9)
6-Emma (Season 1-9)
7-Jenna (Season 9-Present)
8-Paige (Season 1-8)
9-Maya (Season 11-Present)
10-Eli  (Season 10-Present)
11-Jimmy (Season 1-7)
12-Connor  (Season 8-Present)
13-Marco (Season 2-8)
14-Tristan (Season 11-Present)

13x38/39 Thunderstruck

Finally the season finale. This was a one hour action pack event let me tell you. The episode opens with foreboding and foreshadowing shots of natural disasters as Imogen is giving a report on Global Warming. Dallas comments that nothing like that would ever happen in Toronto and even after Imogen points out that the weather channel says that a system is brewing he claims it’s more likely to hit New York or New Brunswick. It’s apparently the end of term (how freaking long are terms in-verse…cause like didn’t just a few episodes a term/semester started and the activities fair is what inspired Maya to do the arts night?) Anyway Drew and his council company are going to now set their sights on the end of term dance. Becky wants to know about when the dance is supposed to end and it’s known that things have been a bit tense in the Baker home since Luke got sentenced to two years in jail. Imogen decides to cheer her up with Mambo #5 which causes Becky to burst out in tears and leave the room. Drew being Drew follows her and Dallas comments about how Drew is just friends with a girl to whom Imogen teases how he believes that but not global warming.

WHATEVER IT TAKES (god I hope the old theme or a variant is back next season)

13x36/37 Believe

Another two parter which much like the 13c finale Sparks Fly aired in 2 parts however least you think because of that than this is the finale… nope…there is one more 2 part/hour long episode to go after this.

I just want to point out how much I love that the title of this mirrors Unbelievable from last arch as it gives a sense of closure to that episodes main plot and is a nice book end to things. Unlike that episode this aired in its original time slot however it did have a PSA warning about sexual content and darker subject matters.

Zig’s phone is buzzing as Grace shows up late for school. Zig is wondering where she was because they have an assignment to do and she comments about the media circus outside.

Winston is talking to Miles about Maya and whatever drama is going on as Maya looks at her phone (is she in a normal homeroom again or is this already a later period since it was established Grace was late…confused) Maya comments about how Zig just texted her and Miles makes a comment about how somebody always seems to be in trouble and Maya nods…’yea, Zoe.’

Zoe meanwhile is auditioning for Wicked and is singing Defying Gravity. Maya walks into the auditorium and Tristan tells her she’s still dead to him however she tells him it’s not the time and starts to talk to him about the media for Zoe. Zoe finishes and tells Maya while she loves her she needs to practice for her audition and they tell her about the press. Zoe heads outside to talk to the press and tells them the boys are guilty and she plans to prove it
