The boys are playing basketball and its shirt’s and skins.
Marco has his eyes a little too long on a shirtless Sean who asks ‘what are you
looking at fag’ in the moment he didn’t mean it intentionally as a slur but
just as trash talk however still it’s not a good thing to say and Marco is
taken aback
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Ellie and Marco are hanging out and she asks him if she
looks okay and he says she does. Ashley smiles at the two of them and Ellie
confides in her friend that she likes Marco and he’s a good friend but she
wants more.
Doctor Sally is back to talk to the grade nine class and
while they got the sex talk in grade eight there are many other topics to cover
including but not limited to sexual discovery. Jimmy and Spinner are laughing
wondering how one dude can find another dude attractive. The same way a guy
finds a girl attractive. The topic about homosexuality being genetic comes up
and the Doctor says it’s been discussed but not proven. Terri brings up how
some people think it’s a sin and the doctor replies is it a sin to life a lie
and hide who you really are?
Toby looking over at Kendra through the window of one of
the classrooms making kissy faces and being a distraction both to Kendra and
the class she’s in at the time.
It’s brought up in the grade nine’s sex ed class that there
is an LGBT support group weekly at the church which seems like an oxymoron of
sorts because aren’t the church going folk the ones who think it’s the sin in
the first place? Anyway Ellie comments about that she has this friend who is
dating someone but wants more. At the end of the session they get health packs
and Spinner teasingly gives Marco the female one and teases him calling him a
girl. Marco is being a self-loathing closet case saying he hates fags.
Toby is reading a love poem to Kendra and JT shows up but
quickly leaves because they are being mushy. Kendra is feeling claustrophobic
about the relationship and says she needs space to work on her studies and Toby
smiles and shows her a couple’s study calendar complete with make out breaks.
Kendra points out she’s got extracurricular and can’t be with him all the time.
Marco is looking at Doctor Sally’s website about how to
know if your gay quickly bringing it down when the other boys show up. Later he’s
sitting outside eating candy with Ellie who asks him if they are just friends
or more and Marco asks her on a date. Like all first dates so far on this show
Marco and Ellie’s movie date is awkward.
The next day Ashley and Terri are talking about a group MI
project and how it’ll be weird to have Jimmy come over to Ashley’s after all
the drama. Ellie approaches and she asks how the date went and Ellie admits
nothing different happened then normally does. Ashley suggests that maybe Marco’s
gay.
Toby is sticking paper hearts on Kendra’s locker much like
Manny did to Craig a few episodes back. Manny even warns him that it makes him
look like he’s smothering Kendra and Manny’s right as Kendra is unimpressed
Spinner teases Marco again and he points out Ellie is his
girlfriend so he’s not gay and that the two of them totally made out on their
date even though they didn’t.
Toby is worried Kendra hates him and it’s over.
Marco and the boys are hanging out and see Ellie. Marco
breaks from the pack to kiss her rather publically.
Toby sees Kendra and ignores her because he thinks she
doesn’t like him anymore.
The grade nines are over Ashley’s for the project. Marco and
Ellie sneak off to Ashley’s room to make out. Marco tells Ellie he likes her
and thinks she’s beautiful….but. Ellie asks if he likes girls and Marco says he
wants to but is confused.
Toby is taking Kendra’s picture out of his locker when she approaches.
Kendra kisses him and tells him she still likes him she just doesn’t like him suffocating
her.
Boys are congratulating Marco for his make out sesh with
Ellie at Ashley’s the other night and Ellie backs him up saying they did in
deed make out. When it’s just the two of them she says she’ll cover for him and
when he’s ready to go to the LGBT support group she’ll go too.
