Clare is giving her report about her mentorship despite
being let go. Miss Oh is asking about it and she starts having flashbacks of
when he was harassing her. She asks what was the biggest lesson and Clare says
to never tell a story unless you have the facts to back it up however as was
seen in 13x 11 she’s clearly forgotten that lesson (among other things). Alli’s
impressed at how Clare faked it and she admits she doesn’t want to say that she’s
been fired until she gets facts to back her up and defend her on the harassment
and so she’s been sneaking off and hiding out when she’s supposed to be at the
paper making everyone none the wiser.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Drew has snuck onto campus because he and Officer Turner go
way back. He goes into Bianca’s class where she’s partners with Owen. He presents
her with two Detroit Piston’s tickets and asks her if she wants to go on an
overnight road trip to Michigan. She can’t because she’s busy and Drew tells
her she seems to be allot lately and he misses her. She tells him she’ll be at
the loft later….for a study group but that’s still something. Mrs. Cohen kindly
tells Drew to leave because he’s no longer a student and Owen teases that he’ll
keep an eye on Bianca while he’s at work.
Clare’s sitting in the prop room calling one of the papers
former interns as Dallas, Luke and some of the other hockey boys are sneaking
beer into the school to get drunk at eleven AM. Dallas asks Luke if he plans to
bring Blondie there whom I assume is Jenna despite them never following up on
that plot and Luke then teases about Dallas lack of luck with the ladies.
Dallas tells him bitches be crazy at Degrassi and Clare tells them to pipe the
hell down. Luke offers her a beer to loosen up and Dallas tells her to leave
her alone. Clare leaves because she’s got a bigger pig to roast.
At play rehearsal Tristan pulls back before the kiss and
scene is called. Tori complements how good he’s doing and Dave teases asking if
she’s flirting. AS IF she’s dating a rock star and Dave smiles saying good
cause he’s taken. Tori’s surprised he’s still with Alli because she’s been MIA
and he tells her about her fast tracking to graduate early. Tristan then gets a
text saying that the pizza place at the mall is holding a contest and the
winner gets a walk on roll on West Drive and they plan to hang out.
Clare is talking to Jennifer, a girl who used to work with
Asher about her experiences with him asking if she experienced any sexual
harassment. She puts two and two together because apparently they know about
Clare and she says no. Alli wants Clare to report him now but she knows things
will be twisted against her. Alli asks that she tells Eli but she can’t because
it’s too close to opening night and she doesn’t want him to freak. She pulls
out her poster board with her article and begins to crumple it as she hears
Asher’s voice echo in her head. She’s frustrated….livid…. Dallas soon
approaches seeing the fire in her eyes and asking if she’s okay. She says she’s
not and Dallas tells her she looks like she could use a drink.
Drew is at the mall and feels bummed because he feels out of
the loop with Bianca and his friends. He wonders if Bianca thinks he’s a looser
and his boss tells her he should shower her with gifts to prove you rock.
Dallas asks Alli to cheer him on at the mall contest. Alli
can’t cause she’s got a backlog of homework to do but tells Dave to text her
after and maybe he can come over.
Clare is getting drunk and spilling all about Asher to
Dallas. She’s a lightweight and is already getting a buzz as she kicks off her
shoes. She tells him talking’s over rated and he starts making out with her
cause he thinks kicking her shoes off is an invitation. She begins to drunkenly
hobble through the hallway shoeless when she runs into Jake and Katie. Jake
asks why she’s not at her internship and she lies saying it was cancelled
however she’s soon called out for being shoeless and smelling like booze. They
head to the garden where Clare tells them about the scene in the prop room off
screen. Jake stands up saying he is going to beat the snot out of Dallas but
Clare reminds her brother she’s a big girl and can take care of herself. Jake
then brings up how he busted the garden up and Clare asks if they told Simpson.
Clare then decides she wants to interview the two of them about Dallas’s
destruction to give him what he has coming.
Tori’s singing at the mall as Dave gets a text from Alli
saying she’s done with the book and wants him to come over. Dave however goes
on stage and sings a remixed /auto tuned/rap version of one of the songs from
the play while he moonwalks.
Fiona, Imogen, Bianca, and Owen arrive at the loft to see
that Drew has installed a jumbo 3D flat screen because clearly the way to
impress his friends is causing their grades to crash and burn while they watch
some 3D motocross.
Clare writes an article shamming Dallas and the team for the
garden and the beer as Eli arrives fresh from tech rehearsal so I’d assume this
scene timeline wise actually happened BEFORE the one at the mall because why
would Romeo, Jules, and the Nurse be out and about and not at tech? Eli
comments how Clare is making serious accusations and Clare says she has Jake,
Katie, and two anonymous senior girls to back her up. Eli’s worried she’s going
to make an enemy or two.
Back at the mall, Dave and two randoms are told they are the
finalists and have all won a card entitling them to free pizza for a year. Then
the winner of the walk on roll is announced and it’s Dave. Tori, Tristan, and
Zig declare that Dave take them out for pizza considering he gets it for free
and ask why he doesn’t invite Alli. He says if she wanted to come she’d be
there already…..um Dave do you not remember she DID want to hang out with you
she just had to do it at her place?
It’s getting late and Imogen and Owen have to leave despite
not cracking a single book. Drew is glad it’s now just him and Bianca (well and
Fiona) and declares it make out time though to Bianca its chug red bull and
study time. Drew tells her it’s one test and she tells him one test can be the
difference between getting into a school and not. Drew is sick of her only
talking about school and tells her he’s acting mature too by making a butt load
of money….money that Bianca points out he spends of frivolities such as a TV
and primo Basketball Tickets. Bianca wants him to make up with Audra and go
back to school and it’s clear that she and mama Torres are totes BFF throwing
shade on Drew behind his back.
Simpson wants to talk about the article. Dallas says that
Katie has it out for him and her words mean nothing. Dallas keeps denying up
and down but then ends up slipping up saying how Clare was drinking alongside
him which proved he WAS drinking. Clare gets a week’s detention for writing the
article without faculty consent and another two for the beer while Dallas gets
a call put in to his coach.
Drew calls up Bianca the next day saying he hoped she did
well on her BORING test while he was out getting his MI license, buying a bike
and genuinely being awesome however he was too awesome cause a cop pulls up.
Clare approaches Eli, Jake, and Katie glad that Simpson let
Dallas have his and didn’t just brush it under the rug however soon Dallas
shows up in the hall and he’s pissed. The entire starting lineup has three
weeks detention which means three games most likely being missed and between
that and Campbell’s injury (not to mention how much they sucked in earlier
episodes) any thought of a playoff bid is pretty much gone. Dallas is pissed
that he got screwed over and Katie snaps that now he knows what it’s like to
see something he loves snatched out from under him. He then asks what he ever
did to Clare and Clare tells him you mess with your friends you mess with me
and to him the feeling is very much mutual and he plans to make the four
musketeers suffer and comments to Clare asking how she’d feel if he told Eli
her dirty secret. Eli asks what secret and she tells him she was fired from the
paper cause Asher…..said she was a bad writer and she thought that writing
about the Ice Hounds would make her feel better but it just sucks worse. The
bell rings and Clare heads to class but Eli wants to make it up to her….TBC
Eli’s meeting with Alli, Adam and Fiona because there is not
much time before the big event and there is so much to get ready. The cues, the
lighting and the big surprise. No he’s not talking about opening night but a
surprise Birthday Party for Clare to get her out of the funk she’s in since
Asher fired her. Fiona wants to know why she’s there because she hardly knows
Clare and couldn’t care less about her. Eli says that the party which is that
night by the way is at Fiona’s loft and she’s going to plan it because she’s so
good at party planning. She asks why she didn’t say party planning in the first
place and Eli then asks Ali to get her to the loft.
I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH
Tori and Tristan are gushing about Dave’s role on West Drive
and I’ve never really noticed how much in this arch the words death, die, and suicide
are used considering the main theme for 12 C. Not tagging this as foreshadowing
it’s just a mild observation. Dave then runs into Alli who asks why he didn’t
call him after the win and he tells her he was just caught up in the moment and
to not think he blew her off though I think ‘oh if she wanted to be here she would
have been’ sounds very much like a blow off to me. Alli’s happy for Dave and
tells him congratulations. Alli walks off and Dave comments to Adam about how
it seems like he and Alli are getting their signals crossed but tonight he
plans on getting their groove back.
Audra shows up at the loft flipping mad about how Drew got a
motorcycle and got a careless driving charge. He tells her he begged the cops
not to tell her and she rolls her eyes at him. She brings up his multiple head
injuries (which just get worse LOL) and he accuses Audra about influencing
Bianca to go against him. Audra says Bianca makes up her own mind and she can’t
help it if she agrees with her and tells Drew that she and Bianca would like it
if his little experiment at independence ends.
Eli wishes Clare Happy Birthday and wishes she didn’t have
plans with Alli. Clare wishes she didn’t either because she’s just not in the
mood to celebrate. Eli tells her to lighten up it was just a stupid internship
and she counter-replies with how Romeo and Jules is a stupid musical and asks
how he’d like it if it got taken from him. Eli says how a party isn’t going to
make up for what he just said and he decides to talk to Asher about re-hiring
Clare. Eli heads to the paper to talk to Asher and begs for Clare to be back
and Asher tells him it’s clear he doesn’t know what happened. Clare was
obsessed with him…..in love with him…and the only choice was to fire her before
things got too far. He’s painting himself as a victim and breaking Eli’s heart
as he’s now thinking Clare was thinking about cheating on him which she never
would do in a million years (or at least a season though nothing has happened
yet on air as I type this….by the time this posts….well it could be another
story)
Fiona shows up at the mall and gives Drew a kid’s meal from
the local burger place though she was in a rush and got him the girl’s toy. She
then hates to be a bitch of a landlord but she tells him how she’s letting Eli
host a party for Clare’s birthday in the loft and that Clare’s brother is
bringing his new girlfriend….Katie. Drew’s in shock that Katie’s moved on so
fast after all the drama and comments how brave Jake must be to date her all
things considered. Speaking of all things Fiona asks if he can make himself scarce
and not come home till late to avoid any and all drama with his ex and her new
beau. Drew tells her that he may be moving out and Fiona tells him that’s harsh
and he can come to the party if he wants. He tells her how his mom and Bianca
think he’s throwing away his life and maybe he’s right…..hell he bought a
motorcycle. Fiona says she impulsively bought a bike too and brings up how
allot of people told her to give up too and gives Drew the sage advice that if
he wants to be taken seriously to act serious and not goof off. Fiona leaves because
she’s got a confetti cannon being delivered. Dallas shows up and asks where
Fiona is off to and Drew comments how she’s throwing a party for some girl
named Clare at the loft. Upon finding out that Clare is Clare Edwards the girl
that screwed him over, Dallas lets the wheels in his head spin. He’s not the
only one as he opens up the ring in the kid’s meal and has an epiphany.
Eli shows up at the party all depressed just as Alli and
Clare pull up. Fiona asks him what’s wrong as they hide and he tells her that
Clare is in love with Asher and he’s an idiot. Clare and Alli show up and
everyone yells surprise however Imogen is struggling to get the confetti cannon
to work. Clare tells Eli she can’t believe he did this and she loves him. She
then asks what’s wrong and Eli tells her that he saw Asher and he told him how
obsessed Clare was with him. He asks to tell him it was a lie however before
Clare can speak Dallas shows up with Luke and some of the other Ice Hound
Extras (aka members not named Owen and Campbell) and crash the party. They hand
Clare a case of beers and then go mingle.
Eli wants Clare to talk to him about things as Jake and
Katie walk over for another musketeer moment. She can’t believe that ass
crashed Clare’s party. Clare says to just ignore the team and it’ll be fine.
Eli asks about the beer and she says Dallas is just being a jerk. Dallas
comments on her name calling and Clare tells him to shut up... He doesn’t and
instead makes a snide comment about Clare and Asher and Eli once more asks
Clare to tell her. Clare runs out crying and Eli wants to storm out. Alli tells
Eli it’s not what he thinks and that he should sit her down and let her say her
piece.
Bianca shows up at the mall. Drew says he talked to Audra
and he’s done allot of thinking. Audra thinks he needs to be serious and he
tells her they need to have a serious chat. He loves her and wants to have a
life with her someday. He then gets down on one knee and asks her…….to open a
joint bank account with him. He’s going to put all his commission money in it
and use it toward her tuition and car repairs and anything else she needs.
There is only about a hundred in there now but there will be more when he sells
the bike. He reminds her of his concussions and she tells him her head is fine.
Back at the party there is clearly tension between Alli and
Dave. Alli snarkily comments how Jake and Katie need to get a room for their constant
PDA but Dave thinks it’s sweet. Alli thinks the play has gotten to his brain.
He wants to talk but she needs to pee.
Eli goes into Fiona’s bedroom where Clare is crying. Alli
convinced him to stay and he needs to hear the whole story. Clare tells him
that the night they re-wrote the article about the play he kissed her. He apologized
and she thought it was over but he tried to make a move on her again and he got
her fired and she breaks down saying she brought this all on herself for not
telling someone after that first kiss. She feels gross and dirty and like suck.
Eli tells her Asher is a bastard and that she shouldn’t have to feel that way.
He knows that the reason she didn’t tell him was for fear he would snap and he
tells her he’s fine and that next time she should trust him before she ends up
splitting at the seams.
Drew is watching Bianca drive around on the bike before it
gets sold and it’s still getting sold. She asks when he got so responsible and
they kiss. He then asks her to marry him and gives her the plastic Cracker Jack
ring. She asks if he’s being for real and he says he is and she says yes.
Eli and Clare plan to leave the party and Dallas decides to instigate
some more commenting about how the birthday girl is leaving her own party and
how she effed up his season. Jake then starts defending his sister and then
Luke starts stepping up commenting about how the ‘tree hugger’ is getting
involved…..um like this was your business to start with Baker…. Dallas is
curious just what damage garden boy and the theater geek can cause and well a
full on fight breaks out culminating in Imogen ‘making it rain’ with the
confetti cannon. Fiona tells Dallas to leave with the team before she calls the
cops and Dallas tells Eli he’s going to be sorry before he obeys.
Clare asks Eli if he’s okay….he is….though his hand is in
pain.
Dave tells Alli that he’d never let anyone hurt her but they
are growing apart and while he loves her between everything she’s doing to fast
track they haven’t been able to actually be a couple and it’s not fair to him
or her. He doesn’t want to settle and comments how she’s checked out on the
relationship since getting into MIT and he’s through with her acting like he’s
second best to her schooling and so it’s over.
Clare is icing Eli’s hand on the fire escape thanking him
for punching Dallas and that it was stupid to project her hate for Asher onto
Dallas and the hockey team. Eli doesn’t think Asher should get away with this
and promises Clare that they’ll do something to give him his just desserts.
