The episode opens as Jimmy and Derek are playing one on one
outside as his dad and the coach of a wheelchair ball team are watching on. He’s
still a bit awkward in his chair however he’s still offered a tryout.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Jimmy tells Craig and Marco he’s quitting the band to focus
on his basketball. The boys are sad but Hazel is happy for the old Jimmy being
back.
JT approaches Liberty that she’s starting to show. She tells
him that people will believe what they want to believe and that it wouldn’t
look good for them to know that the president is in her third trimester (um two
episodes ago she was only three months along….I really doubt she’s that far
along) JT tells her every time he looks at books he gets flustered. He gets hit
by a baby doll and its Danny’s from a family planning class he’s taking because
it’s a bird course plus being the only guy doesn’t hurt.
Ellie sees Jimmy drawing and he explains when he makes the
para-olympic team his dad will get him a new custom chair and he’s drawing a
design. Ellie sees it then flips through his sketch book to look at his other
more darker drawings based on the shooting. This is the first but not the last
time we see Jimmy’s art skills.
Jimmy is home practicing taking shots and has a panic
attack-like flashback thinking of the shooting and Ellie complementing him. His
dad asks what’s wrong and he tells him that he’s just loosing focus. His dad
asks if he needs a sports psychologist to talk to him and he hopes Jimmy doesn’t
let him down.
Danny is tossing the baby doll across the wall asking if
Liberty plans on getting out of the bathroom any time soon. She says she’s sick
and when she comes out comments on the heavy ax body spray sent radiating from
her brother feeling nausea again. Danny knows what’s really going on….what
Liberty is hiding. She’s totally bulimic. She doesn’t deny nor confirm and he
tells him that she needs to purge elsewhere not that it’s working she’s getting
fat.
Ellie e-mails Jimmy about a gallery exhibit on horror comics
of the 50’s. Jimmy tells her he can’t cause of his try out and she tells him it
sucks because it’s the last day however he decides he can do both.
JT goes over to Liberty asking how she is and Danny with his
family planning class looks at the scene putting two and two together beating
up JT. He asks Liberty how he could let JT do that to her and if the parents
know. She tells him he can’t tell.
Ellie and Jimmy are at the gallery and Ellie tells Jimmy he
should sign up for drawing classes. Jimmy tells him how he uses the art to vent
when the guard tells him the gallery is closing. He gets the time and realizes
he’s late for his tryout. He misses it however his father pleads with the coach
to give Jimmy a second chance. Ellie feels bad she caused this.
Jimmy’s dad gives him a high end new chair instead of
letting him design his own. It’s the best of the best and it’s in incentive to
make the team.
JT and Liberty go to Danny asking if he talked to the
parents about it. He promises he’ll keep his lips locked if JT and Liberty take
care of his robot baby for practice.
Jimmy and Derek are practicing for the second try out and
Ellie shows up. She apologizes for the day before and asks if he wants to sign
up for a drawing class with her. He says no and continues to play with Derek
who accidently hits his hand with the ball.
Danny is watching JT with the baby.
Jimmy is getting his hand wrapped in the nurse’s office and
starts to make out with Hazel however she’s not in the mood. His dad called and
told her how she almost blew his tryout because he was at the gallery with
Ellie and she’s highly jealous.
Jimmy tells his dad he’s not comfortable in the new chair
and his dad tells him he just wants Jimmy to be himself. He tells him he’s in a
wheelchair and he’s not the same guy…he’ll never be. His dad tells him he’s
under allot of pressure and Jimmy calls out that it’s cause his dad is putting
him under it.
JT and Danny are fighting over the baby and it flies out of
their hands and falls on the road getting run over by a car.
Jimmy is at the tryout and he tells the coach that this isn’t
for him. He tells his dad it’s his life and that they need to talk things over.
Danny has an incomplete. Danny tells JT that JT’s going to
be a dad he just figured he needed to learn stuff. JT tells Liberty she’s six
months along (Gotta love Degrassi time) and she hasn’t seen a doctor yet. He
tells her they can go to guidance and talk.
Hazel asks Jimmy if he’s made the team and asks if he can
try out again. Hazel tells her that he’s not back…he’s changed. Hazel tells him
that he hasn’t changed he’s the same Jimmy to her and he should try to explain
things to her. Yea like he’s going to say I think I am in like with Ellie (who
seems to of moved on from Craig far too fast) to his current girlfriend….yea no….
