3x19 It's Raining Men recap

Marco shows Spinner, Paige, and Hazel the poster for the Bollywood Nights Dance. (Told you the Bollywood Obsession would inspire a dance later on). It seems like it’s going to be Team Spage(Spinner +Paige) vs. Team Jazel (Jimmy + Hazel) round two for the crown however Marco’s dad who designed the posters says no Marco is going to be king it’s just a matter of who his lucky lady will be.

WHATEVER IT TAKES

Marco tells Dylan that a part of him wanted to tell his dad that there was someone…a guy. Dylan then asks Marco about said guy which eventually leads to him asking Marco to see a movie. Zombie movies scare Marco however and he declines so Dylan says he plans to ask another guy.

JT approaches Toby’s locker with a cardboard cutout of himself. Apparently he did a commercial for some company called superfly fries and the cutout is going to appear in the café and in the cafés of schools all around the area. The commercial is about to premiere and they think about having a launch party at Toby’s.

Spinner asks Marco if he likes Dylan and that he’s rooting for them to get together which is a far cry from the uncomfortable homophobe he was in the beginning of the season so that earns Spinner some character points in my book. He pushes Marco to ask Dylan out and when he does he’s with Tom the other guy he wanted to ask to the movie. In class Spinner shows Marco a creepy photo of a bee during a science lecture. Marco informs him he hates bees they are like flying death monkeys and then tells him that Dylan moved on already and it’s a lost cause. Spinner will go down with his ship damnit and tells Dylan that Tom has scabies before wrapping his arms around him for a hug. After Dylan asks if it was ‘hug the homo day’ Spinner informs him Marco likes him.

After Spirit Squad practice JT goes to ask Manny out. Manny is worried about going as the party is at Ashley’s and even after being informed Ashley will be out tells JT people talk and at school she can just move to the other side of the hall and walk away but at a party there is nowhere to hide.

Dylan asks Marco yet and he says yes. The day of the date Marco goes to Spinner with a fashion crisis because Spinner has similar style tastes to Dylan. This turns out to be season three’s awkward first date as it kicks off with a bee in the car and Marco freaking out.

JT’s fry add comes on the television and everyone laughs at its lameness.

At the theater Marco and Dylan run into Marco’s parents who don’t know Marco is gay yet and invite the duo to dinner. At the restaurant Marco’s dad makes some derogatory gay remarks toward the waiter and soon Dylan leaves.

The next day (or Monday) Jay and Sean tease JT about the lame fry add. Even Manny thinks it sucked but that they can avoid the teasing together.

Marco is embarrassed to talk to Dylan after the date but when they do talk they kiss and soon a second date is discussed.
