So now we’re at the opener of the
final televised arch of the series
meaning there are 12 more episodes + the ‘don’t look back’ TV movie that
sets the stage for the Netflix next class continuation
Jack and Imogen are making out in
front of the school and Becky comments about how it’s too early for PDA however
it’s only a few weeks till graduation and Imogen wants to make it count…plus
the fact that Jack has detention afterschool till the end of the year which Becky
points out she deserved due to the Degrassi nudes issue. They comment how they
hadn’t seen Becky all during the extra break they got while the fire damage was
repaired and she says that she was with Jonah they were just writing songs…okay
sure, she has a crush but she just broke up with Drew and it’s complicated.
Jonah appears and Imogen and Jack make goo goo eyes at him. The quad go into
the school as Drew and Clare collect cellphones which are no longer allowed on
school property . Clare and Drew inform the group that security cameras are
also being installed as part of the new principal’s crackdown…hey at least no
uniforms this time right….Simpson has been put on leave and we meet Miss Pill
who wants to make the school a safe space and says she is banning any and all
PDA. Jack says this is all 1984 ‘Big
Brother’ crazy while I’m getting total Umbrage vibes. Pill says all extra-curricular
must be approved by her and council and Imogen is upset her final days at
Degrassi are under a factious regime. Becky says rules are important and walks
off while Jack and Imogen candidly call out Becky’s feelings for Drew and Jonah
between themselves.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Perieno is handing out new codes of
conduct as the grade tens are talking about Simpson being gone and joking
around. Winston implies he’s more than Mile’s sidekick and Frankie’s boyfriend.
Becky and Jonah propose a lunchtime cabaret
because those have worked out soooo well in past seasons. Jonah has a staff
advisor lined up and Drew is letting his jealousy show.
Zoe is telling Tristan about how she
has a million lawyer meetings while she waits for her sentencing for the
scandal in the meantime she has to serve detention with all the other girls who
are giving her the cold shoulder and another student taunting her.
Frankie is flirting with Winston who
asks if he’s really funny cause Miles is the rich one, Zig is the rebel and he thought
he was the comic relief but nobody laughs at his jokes. Frankie then discovers
a track on Winston’s laptop which is a Demo from a musical he’d been
composing and Frankie tells him that
they should propose it. Winston is the funny guy not the musical guy.
Becky is pitching names for her variety
show but Imogen and Jack inform her it wasn’t on the approved list and she’s
upset…her idea was solid and she KNOWS that it HAS to be a Drew ruling and not
a Pill ruling. Jack admits that is the case…Drew is super jealous and suggest
Becky resubmits the proposal but show some skin.
The girls are in detention the next
day and are still being taunted by the male students. She needs to do something
but the girls are no longer her minions.
Becky saunters over to Drew who is
posting rule posters for Pill. She asks if it’s about Jonah or her idea and he
says he doesn’t trust dudes in eyeliner. Becky turns up the flirt and says Jonah
is just a collaborator and makes Drew all hot and bothered.
The variety hour was greenlit
however in the process Drew now thinks that Becky is still into her. Imogen and
Jack say perhaps turning the flirt on was ill advised and she can’t fake the
hots for Drew forever…
Zoe meets up with Tristan asking
what they should do to stop Damon from creeping on them.
Becky and Jonah are singing in the
background as Winston is going over his stand up routine. Frankie starts
listing off all the respectable actors who have done musical theater: Jon Ham,
Hugh Jackman, and Neil Patrick Harris…Winston tells her to drop it he has a standup
act. He’s announced and ends up making jokes at Frankie’s expense. Frankie is
pissed as Jonah and Becky are singing again.
They finish singing and once again
Becky’s between an emotional rock and hard place.
Lola tells Winston he looks like she
did when both her hamsters died and Winston say about how he just wanted to
find his niche and Frankie just doesn’t get it. Lola totally does after all
Frankie’s the smart one, Shay’s the confident one and she’s the dumb one its
okay it’s just the way the status quo works. Winston says he knows and if he’s
not the funny one he’s just a looser. Lola tells her he is funny and they kiss.
Winston realizes he’s screwed and tells Lola to not tell Frankie about his slip
up.
Damon is flirting with Lola as they walk into
the detention room. Zoe did the whole pudding on the seat to make the victim look
like he shit himself gag and says maybe now he’ll stop bullying. Damon says now
he knows why the girls hate him.
Drew complements Becky however she
wants to talk. Drew agrees wanting to hang out cause there are no PDA rules in
his basement. Becky admits that she doesn’t like him romantically and only flirt
with him to get the show greenlit. There is a scuffle and Drew lies and tells Pill
he was just breaking up Becky and Jonah’s PDA session.
Winston gives Frankie the script to
Captain Who and says she was right his comedy offended her and he should do the
musical however there is the awkward of him and Lola over his head.
Becky is pissed, she has detention
for a week, her show got the boot and Drew is just lucky the cameras aren’t live
yet. Jonah tells Becky to keep her cool and Becky admits she likes him and they
kiss for real in Drew’s eye line.
Damon calls Zoe a bitch and she was
cooler when she was just a pair of boobs who couldn’t talk. Zig and Tiny come
to Zoe’s defense and Damon stabs Tiny.
