Finally the season finale. This was a one hour action pack event let me
tell you. The episode opens with foreboding and foreshadowing shots of natural disasters
as Imogen is giving a report on Global Warming. Dallas comments that nothing
like that would ever happen in Toronto and even after Imogen points out that
the weather channel says that a system is brewing he claims it’s more likely to
hit New York or New Brunswick. It’s apparently the end of term (how freaking
long are terms in-verse…cause like didn’t just a few episodes a term/semester
started and the activities fair is what inspired Maya to do the arts night?)
Anyway Drew and his council company are going to now set their sights on the
end of term dance. Becky wants to know about when the dance is supposed to end
and it’s known that things have been a bit tense in the Baker home since Luke
got sentenced to two years in jail. Imogen decides to cheer her up with Mambo #5 which causes Becky to burst out in tears and leave the room. Drew being Drew
follows her and Dallas comments about how Drew is just friends with a girl to whom
Imogen teases how he believes that but not global warming.
WHATEVER IT TAKES (god I hope the old theme or a variant is back next
season)
Maya tells Zig he HAS to go to the dance with her. He’s her best friend
and she knows they’ll have fun. Zig agrees and as Maya walks off, he bumps into
Zoe who asks if he’s going and wants to hang out with him. Grace is a passive
observer and calls him out for having a date with two girls…especially two
girls who loathe one another.
Zoe bumps into Tristan who asks if she’ll be his date because he wants to
get his mind off of Townsend however she tells him she’s taken by Zig and
offers him to join them. He can’t because he’s in a fight with Maya and Zig
lives with Maya. He then asks if Miles is going to the dance however he isn’t
cause of Maya. Miles invites Tristan to hang.
Clare is getting ready to go to New York and Alli warns that if she sees,
hears, or even thinks of Eli then she needs to call her for an intervention.
Clare comments about getting an earlier flight to avoid the storm which leaves
her with some downtime. Alli tells her she should experience the three B’s and
no E’s.
Drew finds Becky in the greenhouse. He knows where she goes when she’s
upset and offers her his jacket and an ear. She wants to know why he’s been so
nice to her and he tells her how he knows what it’s like to lose a brother and
doesn’t plan to leave her side. Drew starts to twerk trying to get Becky to
crack a smile before getting down on one knee and presenting her with a stress
ball. She then agrees to go to the dance.
Zig is trying to get Grace’s advice about Maya and Zoe. She thinks Zoe is
totally into him however he can’t date her cause she’s Maya’s enemy. Zig is
torn between a rock and a hard place and Grace suggests alcohol and much of it.
Tristan shows up at the Hollingsworth’s with Miles and sees Frankie and
Winston lying on the couch watching TV. Miles then commanders the remote
deciding to play charades for the good TV.
Clare is talking to Alli about her New York trip so far when she spots
Eli at a newsstand. Alli tells her to walk away briskly…Clare does as she walks
into a poll.
The dance is about to start and Dallas asks Drew if he likes Becky. Alli
calls him out since she’s his late brothers girlfriend and Drew replies how
that’s the reason he can’t be with her…though not being able to be with her
doesn’t mean he likes her cause he does. Drew says he’s going to just skip the
dance to prove he doesn’t like Becky however as he leaves a tree falls outside
and Simpson declares a lockdown situation.
Maya’s getting ready for the dance as the storm rages on asking Zig if he’ll
dance with her to BeyoncĂ© as he’s anxiously looking out the window. She asks if
her roommate is expecting someone and he nods. “It starts with a zed…” Maya is livid.
They haven’t spoken since the trial however she is the WORST. Zoe shows up
asking who is ready to have fun.
The dance is canceled and Simpson tells the students to tweet out the
news and it’s Drew’s responsibility to take roll call and keep everyone
together. Drew is just glad he’s not the one to cause dance drama.
Clare is in the ER and is freaking out because she has her admissions
interview. The doctor says she had her blood work done however she has to have
an MRI…but if the doctor asks why she left she’ll say Clare bit her.
Frankie blasts Winston for not figuring out her charade (Inglorious
Bastards) as Tristan guesses Miles’s (To Kill a Mockingbird) right away. They
were studying the book in class and as Miles refers to Yates as a creeper
Tristan says to take it back. He can’t however as a revolution comes about that
the teacher had groped Winston on multiple occasions. Tristan lets it out that
him and Yates had a connection and Miles comments the one thing he’s learned
this year is that no one will ever truly love you. This comment prompts Tristan
to run out in the storm thinking the comment was directed to him and not a
generalized statement.
Maya, Tristan, and Zig are drunkenly playing Never Have I Ever which
leads to a mean angry drunk Maya bitching Zoe out saying if it wasn’t for Zoe
she’d be with Miles right now. Zoe’s been such a bitch to her, SHE is the
reason Maya’s spent the term in the Rubber Room and she keeps stealing all of
Maya’s ‘PEOPLE’ Miles, Tristan, now Zig…I’m sure if Cam were still alive and
Tori came back to town they’d choose Zoe over Maya too. Maya then stumbles out
saying she wants to go to the dance. Zig starts to follow her but Zoe shakes
her head. She needs to do this.
Clare makes it to Columbia however they are packing up. The admission
team has already left as Clare tries to argue that she had a run in with a poll
and was in the ER. The secretary believes her and tells her to come back at
8AM. Clare can’t…her flight is that night…WAS that night I mean since the planes
are grounded. She’s told hotels would be filled with stranded tourists leaving
Clare to call the one person she didn’t want to call.
Miles goes outside telling Tristan to come in before asking if he had a
thing with Yates. Tristan says he was delusional after all who could ever love
him. Miles says they he is the most loveable person he knows and the comment
was more about him. Tristan says how Maya
and Zoe are idiots and he kind of was crushing on Miles since Paris. Stuff
starts to fall around them and they duck on the ground. If this was a romantic
comedy they’d totally be kissing now says Tristan and for a split second they
almost do before heading back inside.
Drew is trying to do a roll call as Imogen asks if she’s seen Becky.
There is no cell service and she hasn’t been seen since the girls left to get
ready in the locker rooms. Drew says he last saw her when they were talking in
the greenhouse and Jack tells him the greenhouse was destroyed by the uprooted
tree. Drew, Imogen, and Jack then breaks Simpson’s rules as he runs out into
the storm calling Becky’s name as they look through the rubble. There is no
body, she isn’t still there. The girls have to practically drag Drew inside as
the hour is halfway over.
Zoe follows Maya in the storm however Maya doesn’t want to talk she wants
to head to the school. Zoe points out its blocks away and Maya’s drunk. Maya
calls Zoe a bitch and Zoe says she doesn’t want Maya to get killed though she supposes
if she did die she’d blame Zoe for it in ghost form. Fortuitously the girls are
in front of the Dot as Zoe breaks in and drags Maya behind her.
Drew asks if anyone has seen Becky and is freaking out. Dallas comments
that he’s not dating Becky yet has still managed to put her life in danger.
Drew wants to know when he’s ever put a girl’s life in danger and Dallas
reminds him that he almost got Bianca killed by a gang twice…um wasn’t that
partially the other way around and wasn’t Dallas not even on cannon during that
timeline? Continuity FAIL.
Miles, Tristan, Winston, and Frankie start to play Bloody Murder in the
Hollingsworth home to pass the time during the storm. Winston points out to
Miles that Tristan wants him and to not be a jerk about it.
Back in New York, Clare thanks Eli for giving her dry cloths. She
comments how things are awkward and offers to go however Eli is surprisingly
cool and mature about things. Clare comments about if his roommate would mind
her sleeping in his bed and Eli says he’ll be amused when he gets home. Eli
offers her his bed and he’ll take the floor however Clare doesn’t want to put
him out and offers to take the floor instead. Eli then says they should just
share the bed…sleep head to toe so it’s not more awkward then it has to be. They
lie in bed for a few moments before both declaring they are hungry.
Zoe tells Maya to strip; she’s not planning to take any incriminating pictures
she just doesn’t want Maya to catch cold and helps her remove her cloths giving
her a DOT t-shirt to wear instead. Zoe tells Maya she’s trying to be her friend
and Maya makes a comment again about taking her sloppy seconds. Zoe points out
that technically Miles was hers first and it hurt allot cause she really liked
him.
Drew finally finds Becky chilling out in the boiler room. She tells him
she’s from Florida she’s experienced seven hurricanes and the gym has too many
windows for her taste. Drew tells Becky he knows she likes him and vows to
protect her. They end up being locked in the boiler room and start to freak
cause nobody knows that is where Drew ran off to and both their phones are dead
(not that it matters with the storm knocking out service) also the school will
be vacant for the next week due to Spring Break… Becky asks Drew if he’s let
gas however it’s not Drew, there is a leak which leads to further panic mode
and breaking the off valves makes it that much worse…
The storm has apparently subsided in New York as Eli and Clare leave the
dorms and grab some street food. Eli asks about Drew and she says she doesn’t
know…good. Eli comments about her not knowing how her own boyfriend is and
Clare tells him that Drew isn’t before asking about Lenore. Eli tells him that
they never and it was really only that one-time thing…she’d never hold a candle
to Clare. Clare apologizes for the way she dumped him however he’s not sorry,
he thanks her cause it freed him up to really get to know the city before
telling her that they should go back so she can rest for her interview.
Miles finds Tristan and wants to know if he’s okay. Miles then begins to
frisk him looking for the ‘murder weapon’. He has it and Tristan teases that if
Miles comes any closer he’ll kiss him…Miles tells him to go for it and he does…Miles
then kisses back and Winston catches the make out session. Tristan leaves the
boys to talk and Winston asks Miles if he’s gay now…bi…he shouldn’t lead
Tristan on when he can’t make up his own mind….Miles then shows the weapon
telling Winston he’s dead.
Drew and Becky scream until they lose their voices. Becky thinks that
being trapped in there to die is god’s way of punishing her even further. Drew
says how if god didn’t want them to be together he shouldn’t have trapped him
in a confined space to tempt him. THEY start making out and are soon found by
Dallas, Jack, and Imogen who mention parts of the roof are collapsing.
Maya is sobering up and tells Zoe she’s right, she the one who took Miles
and not the other way around and she deserves some of the blame for their
drama. No….Miles is to blame… Zoe admits she’s never had a girlfriend and she’d
always been jealous of Maya because people like her and she didn’t ever need to
try. They agree it would be nice to be on the same team and in one final
musical moment of this season the girls start to sing ‘Thank You For Being a
Friend’ aka the Golden Girls theme song…I’d like to think this was inspired by
Summer and Ana bonding over the Golden Girls back in season one of the OC but I
read too much into things.
It’s a brand new day and Clare survives the storm and aces her Columbia
interview. Eli is waiting and Clare asks what he’s doing there. He needed to
tell her something. He lied when he said he moved on…he’s not over her.
Tristan is cleaning out the Hollingsworth pool and tells Miles they don’t
have to ever talk about the kiss again and how it was probably him just acting
out to get over Maya. Miles tells him he’s confused. The kiss was weird but a
good weird and he doesn’t know what his next move should be.
The senior class is cleaning up in front of the school and Dallas and
Alli give Drew their blessings for him to pursue Becky. Life is short. Becky
says she thinks the kiss wasn’t right and she’s willing to forget if he is..he
admits he doesn’t want to and wants to start something…slowly but something.
Clare asks Alli about Drew and Becky and Alli says allot happened over
the storm. Clare is happy for them and tells Alli about how awesome the
interview went and how her and Eli are on good terms and are even considering
possibly testing the waters again when she moves to the city. Clare is happy
and is in a great place as her phone rings. It’s the hospital in New York and
her blood work has come back…everything is looking good for Clare…AND HER BABY….
THIS cliffhanger nobody saw coming not even the cast…seriously the
reaction video from the read through is GOLDEN
