One thing to note with this season is while the episodes all
have their own names instead of being all part one part two they might as well
be as the subplots for every episode pair carry over.
That said, this episode begins on an ominous note with Clare
getting her MRI. She's scared and it's showing as she tries to get the nurse to
stall though she assures Clare she's not alone as her mom and boyfriend are
right outside. I wish we got even a passing acknowledgment about where Jake and
Glenn are in all of this. I mean Jake is most likely picking mushrooms but
Glenn?
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Alli shows up at Leo's coffee shop as Jenna shows up with a
skull that Conner got her at some catacomb that they went to for their project.
She asks Alli how the Louvre was but then points out how she's never been cause
she's been too busy mooning over Leo. Alli comments about how her mooning is
for not since she hasn't been asked out. Jenna suggests Alli asking him and he
asks if 3's okay, Alli tells him better make it 4 because she has a
presentation to work on.
Tristan and Miles are walking into the common area of where
the students are staying and Tristan is simply on cloud nine talking about how
wonderful Paris is and how tasty the éclair he just ate was. Maya comments
about him eating carbs now but Tristan shakes it off saying he ate it because
Miles got it for him. Maya comments about how just yesterday he was worried
that Miles hated him and now they are friends. Tristan says yes they are and
they are going to be boyfriends. Zoe rolls her eyes and tells Tristian he doesn’t
play for that team and besides she has her sights set on him. The class then
gets a pairs assignment and as Tristan and Zoe both claim Miles he picks the
former.
Clare is worried because if the cancer has spread to her
brain regular chemo can’t fix it. Sure there are other options but she’s
becoming paranoid. Eli tells her to turn off the computer and to relax with a
movie. The nurse comes in saying the doctors are still looking things over but
Clare just wants to know now to get it over with. The nurse leaves and Eli suggests they see
the movie but she says she wants to visit Paula.
Tristan and Miles are out shopping in Paris and a song comes
on . Tristan likes the song and Miles admits that he did a dance routine to it
as while his sister was taking tap lessons he was in a hip hop class…well until
his dad heard about it and promptly pulled the plug. Tristan calls him a modern
day Billy Elliot minus the British and the mining. Miles tells Tristan he’s
easy to talk to and Tristan kisses him. He apologizes saying he was seizing the
moment and Miles just shakes it off without a reaction.
Alli gives her presentation on the Louvre and gets a C. She
protests and is told she can make it up by actually GOING to the museum and
writing an essay due the next day.
Clare arrives in Paula’s room only to find it empty. Paula
died that morning and Clare starts to tear up since the other girl had the same
form of cancer that she had meaning she could very well be next.
Clare summons Drew to the hospital from when he’d been
working on the camp so that they could start planning out Welcome Back
activities even though the school year is months away. She starts to hear a whimpering
noise and a small dog hops out of the basket Drew has. Clare rolls his eyes
that he brought an animal into the hospital and Drew tells her it was supposed to
be for the camp. The dog then makes its business on the floor and Clare shows
him where the cleaning supplies are saying he needs to clean it up because she
has cancer and can’t risk an infection. He comments how urine is sterile and
she teases it’s the only science fact he most likely knows. Drew comes back
with supplies asking what the meeting was really about and Clare tells him how
she’s just seconds away from hearing if things are getting worse and she doesn’t
want these to be the last four walls she sees so Drew decides to take her out.
Alli and Leo go on their date and Alli asks Leo if he’s been
to the Louvre. He says he has been and she suggests they go, it’s not because
the date sucks it’s just that she needs to go for class. Leo then accuses her
of using him to do her assignments and walks off.
Drew and Clare leave the hospital and plan on heading toward
Degrassi so he can drop the dog off and Clare can act like a normal person for
a time.
OMLG (Oh My Lady Gaga) Tristian has big news for Maya. HE
KISSED MILES and his heart exploded. Now he has to just ask him out on a date,
or maybe Miles will ask him. All his dreams are coming true now all he needs is
the Blazer he’d been lusting over however his dreams are just as soon shattered
as he sees Miles and Zoe making out.
Clare arrives at the camp and its Sports day (the dog is the
prize for the winner) Clare decides to run the relay race along with the kids
but quickly gets winded and ends up vomiting.
Jenna and Maya are practicing music in the girls dorm (and
making me wish they had more interaction cause having Jenna as a contemporary
might of made Maya more likable overall come later episodes) Alli comments
about how her date was a bust cause he took her on this romantic picnic and how
she was a buzzkill telling him about the homework. Jenna tells her you win some
you lose some but Alli doesn’t want to lose Leo.
The kids at camp ask Clare why she threw up and she says
that she was sick. One of the kids then ends up coughing and Clare gets a
reality check, what if being there makes her worse than she is?
Alli shows back up at the restaurant begging for Leo to
forgive her. She tells her that she always lets guys mess her up and how
instead of doing her assignment she’d been wasting her time wanting him to ask
her out. He gives her another chance and offers to help her with her report.
Eli is flipping out as Clare returns to the hospital. Clare
admits she was stupid for doing that. She tells him how she doesn’t know how
much time she has left and so she wants to spend it in the best way possible.
They arrive in the room and Helen is crying. It’s about the MIR…. It was clear….they
are going to fight this.
