Toby comments she thought Liberty would be
studying for finals however she tells him she’s been busy with Prom and Grad
plans. Speaking of plans he asks if she’s up for a post grad rededication of
the ‘JT Yorke Memorial Zen Garden’ Miss H approved that the two of them, Emma
and Manny can have a private get together after graduation. Damian buys tickets
for Prom for him and Emma however he and Liberty end up flirting. She gets a
phone call the school just won a radio contest and Natasha Beddingfield is
playing at prom (and que Pocket Full of Sunshine)
WHATEVER IT TAKES (bye bye instrumental opening
it was nice knowing you….wish you returned in season thirteen instead of the
dreck we have now)
Darcy can’t believe she and Peter have made
it through the school year with all the drama they lived through. Peter can’t
wait for them to rule the school next year and Darcy tells him that her parents
want him over for dinner. Darcy is glad that nothing is going to stop them.
The final exams are going on and the timer
buzzes. Damien asks Liberty how she did and they are whispery. Emma comments
that it always seems that they are sharing in some little secret and Liberty
nods giving her Natasha announcement. Toby nervously asks Liberty to be his
date and she says yes.
Prom which is at some hotel. Spinner, Jane,
Jimmy, and Trina show up followed by Toby and Liberty who has on contacts and a
slinky red dress slit far too low down the front (hello cleavage) and just
seems really OOC though with her man stealer behavior in this episode it works.
Emma can’t believe they are hear at senior prom….they’ve come a long way since
grade seven. The girls and Toby have a group hug. After Damian asks if she can
sign his yearbook and she nods. She makes a comment about going to Banting next
year (no you’re not….you’re a legacy at Smithdale you’ll have a racism plot
about it I promise) Damian’s going too and says he hopes they run into one
another. Natasha comes on stage and yea I told you Pocket Full Of Sunshine….now
that gem is going to be stuck in your head for the next hour I swear to god…..
Peter is heading out but Miss H wants to
talk. It’s weird seeing her in a home setting. Anyway she tells him that she’s
taken a leave of absence cause Peter’s grandma is sick and so they are moving to
Ragina (which sounds like Vagina whenever it’s spoke I shit you not) to take
care of her. He asks if he can stay or move in with his dad. She’s already
talked and his dad said no.
Natasha is playing ‘Unwritten’ as Liberty
wants to ask Toby something as a friend…he meanwhile wants to ask her something
too. She tells him she likes Damian but doesn’t know if she should pursue it because
he’s with Emma. He is hurt and tells her following your heart sucks and walks
off. Natasha is still singing. Spinner approaches the group (where Jimmy is now
up on arm crutches so I guess the PT has been working without the surgery cause
he’s semi mobile again though I assume the surgery is so he and Trina will
eventually be without them) Anyway Spinner tells them he’s scored a key that
gives him access to the pool. As he’s talking Manny observes Liberty sneaking
off with Damian. The two of them go into a room or something and start making
out. The seniors (and Jane) are all in the pool swimming when Liberty and
Damian finally arrive. Liberty is worried about ruining her dress (all the
other girls are in swim suites they apparently packed with them) Manny tells
her to relax her dad’s a drycleaner before confronting her about seeing her and
Damien sneak off. Manny tells her to tell wait to tell Emma after graduation.
She then jumps into the pool in her dress.
Peter meets up with his dad and his dad’s very
pregnant fiancé at some convenience store at about Midnight. He tells his dad
his mom wants them to move and he tells him it would mean allot to his grandma because
she needs help. But he has a life in Toronto and doesn’t want to throw it away
and tries to plead his case to his dad. His dad tells him that Missy and he
have a life and with the baby there is no room and he’s better off with his
mom.
Toby makes a snide comment to Liberty
asking if she wishes that JT was there. She comments that JT is the last thing
on her mind. Toby then publically announces about them making out and Emma is
pissed.
The Class of 07 is getting ready to
graduate though Liberty is persona non grata. She tells Toby how her speech highlights
the importance of friendship and he laughs at the irony.
Darcy is freaking that Peter is moving to
Ragina. He blames his stupid divorced parents and Peter gets an idea. Mr. Van
Zandt is a lawyer and he plans to talk to him about emancipation.
Damian tells Liberty that Emma dumped him
and didn’t want things to go down like this. Liberty doesn’t know how she can
talk about how six years of friendship meant after this. Liberty ends up giving
her speech and breaks down running out of the gym in tears. Emma follows her
out asking if she’s okay. She’s mad at Damian but she’s not going to give up
six years of friendship on one night. Manny and Toby then join them and it’s a
highly emotional moment. The quad go back in to walk with the rest of the class
as Unwritten is playing in the background.
Peter goes to ask about being emancipated
and Mr. Van Zandt asks if he knows what it means. Peter jokes he’s heard it on
the Simpsons and they set up a meeting to talk about the process.
The quad are in the Zen garden newly
renamed after JT and leave a graduation cap by a photo of him and flip the
tassel giving an emotional ending to another season and the last where the originals
are at the school (though Spinner, Emma, Manny, and Liberty are still series
regulars for two more seasons)
