The episode opens as Jay and Sean
looking at DVD’s and eventually stealing them from a store in the mall causing
them to get run down by mall cops.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
We find out that Jay and Sean are
banned from the mall which again must be a temporary banishment because I know
at least Jay will appear there later in the series. Tracker notes it’s lucky
that they didn’t call the REAL cops as Sean just got taken off probation and
that Jay is a bad influence. Before he can rag on Sean more however Tracker
gets a call from a prospective new employer.
Liberty asks JT if he has a date
for the dance yet….no she’s not prepositioning him she’s got a boyfriend she
wants him to ask Manny which again is an opposite of how things were at the
start of the season when Liberty was jealous that JT liked Manny over her.
Ellie is looking over at Sean’s
shop project and they kiss. Amy is in the shop with Jay and Alex and comments
to the latter she’s jealous of Ellie being with Sean.
JT is in the café getting two
tickets and yes the cutout for Superfly Fries is still there. Spinner makes a
comment to him about Manny saying she’s a nice choice for a date and he’s guaranteed
to get some because she’s a slut…….
Tracker’s packing and informs
Sean that tomorrow they leave for Alberta because he has a sweet new job. This
would mean Sean would lose a year of school since it’s so close to finals
making him not one but two years behind since he already had to re-do grade
seven. Tracker tells him he can either go to Alberta or move back to Wasaga
Beach with his alcoholic parents. He tells Ellie the next day they need to
break up because he’s moving. Breaking down to the shop teacher it is soon suggested
that Sean look into student welfare which from the sound means that he gets to
live on his own with the school paying his a stipend for expenses like food and
rent with a faculty member sponsoring them. The shop teacher even offers to be
said sponsor. Telling Tracker about this new development he wishes his kid
brother luck adding that he’ll most likely see him soon as he doesn’t think
this arrangement will last. Sean then tells Ellie he’s not moving after all and
they can be together.
Liberty informs Manny JT wants to
go to the dance with him and I am swearing that this is turning into one huge
game of freaking telephone at this point.
Sean tells Jay and Alex about his
new living situation and soon the house becomes party central despite the fact
that Sean needs to study. The shop teacher even calls him out on his lateness
and slipping GPA.
JT finally gains the courage to
ask Manny out however he sees her talking to Craig on the school steps crushing
his heart. Manny tells him she heard he wanted to ask her and she’d been
waiting. Nothing was going on with her and Craig on the steps he was just
asking if she’d been all right after….well…everything.
There is another party going on
at Sean’s however this one leads to the Montreal Crew starting a few brawls and
Amy passing out drunk in the bathroom.
JT finally asks Manny out to the
dance and she gives him a big ole YES.
Sean gives the shop teacher his
forms to fill out for student welfare but before the teacher signs Sean admits
to the party that happened and promises that it won’t happen again. The teacher
doesn’t want to sign if Sean isn’t serious however he convinces the teacher he
is and soon the papers are signed and Sean is staying late to work on the project.
