The episode opens as Emma enters
class and bumps into Sean. There is tension as they look at one another and
take a seat. Kwan begins a discussion on Julius Cesar making me wonder if I
should have made a Shakespeare Tag instead of just one for Romeo and Juliet
mentions and Sean is called on. He comments how the play is irrelevant and a
waste of time as Chris soon chimes in giving his two cents on the prose and
impressing Emma.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
Craig and Ashley are walking outside
and Craig tells her not to have too much fun in Montreal where she and Ellie
are heading out to embark in some retail therapy as Ellie’s been stressed out
lately due to her mom’s drinking and her dad being away. Ashley doesn’t say the
reasons but anyone who has seen the episode before this one knows that’s why.
As the girls leave Manny approaches Craig inviting him to go to a rave that
night.
Back in the classroom Armstrong
hands back a test. Jimmy and Spinner don’t do so hot but Marco aced it. Jimmy
invites the boys over for a study sleepover and Spinner is slightly put off by
this due to the weirdness he feels over Marco’s homosexuality.
Emma tells Chris that she liked what
he had to say in Kwan’s class and soon Manny approaches teasing Emma about how
she’s in love with Chris. I’m glad that they were able to resolve their drama
in the wake of Snake’s illness….well for this episode anyway by the end not so
much. Anyway Manny tells Emma about how Chris’s cousin is DJing at the rave and
how she heard Chris gets to spin a few sets. Emma agrees to go and Manny
gussies her up in a tightish skirt and top and tons of makeup. Emma comments
about the look and Manny replies that sometimes you need to do whatever it
takes to get what you want. They sneak out through the window so Emma doesn’t
have to explain to her mom why she’s dressed sexily and where she’s going.
As the boys study Jimmy flips on the
TV to a porno however soon turns it off because of Marco. Marco assures him
that naked women won’t burn his eyes out however he was looking at something
else. When asked what he replies ‘The Drapes Spin….The Drapes’ it’s not really foreshadowing
despite me tagging this as such however there is a very important scene regarding
drapes in the finale and Marco in in fact involved.
At the Rave Manny informs her to not
talk about the environment it’s not sexy and points Chris who is by the DJ
booth out to Emma.
Across town Craig is a third when for
Joey and Sydney and eventually leaves saying he’s going to Jimmy’s when really
he’s going to the rave.
As the boys are studying and still
watching the film Marco’s hand accidentally brushes Spinner causing him to jump
up. Then soon after Spinner starts to choke and as Marco does the Heimlich maneuver
Spinner thinks he’s putting moves on him.
As Craig shows up to the rave, Emma approaches
Chris who’s about to spin and accidentally turns off the power momentarily due
to nerves. While Emma is reveling in her embarrassment over her action Chris’s
girlfriend shows up and the two start to fight. Retreating back toward Manny
she says she wishes to go home however Manny says to wait till the fights over
then approach a sad Chris cause that method is highly affective. Emma gives
Manny a look thinking about what she did or didn’t do with Craig when he and
Ashley were fighting and shakes it off.
Manny soon sees Craig and they begin to grind on the dance floor while Chris
approaches Emma post fight offering her a drink. Soon the two of them go to
talk and they nearly kiss however Emma pulls back not wanting to be ‘that girl’.
As Marco and Spinner are sleeping in
the living room Marco’s hand accidentally moves and it touches Spinner who once
again flips out that Marco is coming onto him.
Emma arrives home from the rave
alone since she lost track of Manny however she soon finds her friend making
out on her (Emma’s) bed with Craig and she’s livid.
On Monday Marco asks Spinner if she’s
ready for the math test and Spinner nods. Marco tells Spinner just because he
likes dudes doesn’t mean he finds them all attractive and then says that
Spinner is ugly in so many words. Spinner who was at first offended that Marco
liked him is now offended that he isn’t attractive enough for his standards.
Seriously….for real.
Emma still mad at Manny gives her a
brush off and they have a fight. Manny says that she doesn’t want to be friends
with a ‘stuck up prude princesses and Emma replies she doesn’t want to be
friends with ‘the school slut.’
